RP model decomposition algorithm for making 3D layer (3D layer 생성을 위한 RP 모델 분할 알고리즘)

  • Rapid Prototyping(RP)이란 3차원 솔리드 모델을 단면화한 뒤 하나씩 적층하는 가공방식을 총칭한다. 이때 단면화하는 방법에 따라서 uniform, adaptive slicing으로 나뉘며, 입력 모델에 따라서 direct slicing과 STL을 이용한 방식으로 나뉜다. 적층 방법에 따라서는 연속된 2D 윤곽을 기반으로 적층하는 vertical layer 방식과 인접한 두 개의 2D 윤곽들을 연결하며 만들어진 3D layer를 기반으로 가공하는 sloping layer방식으로 나뉠 수 있다. 현재 상용 RP 시스템들에서는 거의 모든 경우 vertical layer 방식이 채택되어 사용되고 있다. RP와 절삭 공정, 예를 들면 CNC 밀링의 장점을 효율적으로 결합하기 위해서는 임의의 복잡한 형상을 갖는 솔리드 모델을 정밀도에 제한이 없이 제조할 수 있어야 한다. 그러나 절삭 공정은 특별한 전문적 지식들을 필요로 한다 또한 상용 RP에서 사용하는 순차적인 적층 작업으로는 가공할 수 없는 형상들이 많다. 대표적인 것으로 지지대를 필요로 하는 형상들이 있다. 이러한 형상들을 지원하기 위해서는 복잡한 3D 형상을 절삭 가능한 형식으로 분할하는 것과 적층 가능한 순서대로 공정 계획하는 것이 필요하게 된다. 본 연구에서는 SDM에서 제시된 3D 분할 방법이 솔리드 모델을 기반으로 전개되어 STL file과 같은 삼각다면체 형식으로 근사화된 모델에 적용하기 어렵다는데 착안하여 STL file에서 읽어들인 삼각 다면체 모델을 가공 가능한 3D 형상으로 분할하는 알고리즘을 제시하고자 한다.

Mold technology with 3D printing for manufacturing of porous implant (다공성 임플란트 제조를 위한 3D 프린팅 응용 금형기술)

  • In this study, the mold technology for manufacturing of porous implant was investigated. Firstly, we considered the concept of insert molding technology with 3D printing of porous inert part. The part on implant was designed in the end region of the implant. And then main implant bodies were manufactured using conventional machining method. The other porous parts were designed and optimized with molding simulation. As the feature size of porous implant was so small that perfect feature of it using 3D printing technology could not be obtained. So, we proposed another scheme for manufacturing of the porous implant in the replace of the former approach. Polymer mold cores with 3D printing technology were considered. The effects of addictive manufacturing process parameters on the properties of mechanical and dimensional accuracy were investigated. Direct 3D printed polymer mold cores were designed and manufactured under the simulation of thermal and molding analysis. It was shown that 3D printed mold core with polymer could be adapted to the injection molding for porous implant.

3D Simulation of Thin Film using Contour Analysis of Interference Fringe Image and Interpolation Method (간섭무늬 영상 등고선 해석과 보간법을 이용한 박막의 삼차원 정보 형상화)

  • In this paper we proposes a new framework to obtain 3D shape information of thin film rapidly. The conventional equipments based on reflectometry are not suitable for obtaining 3D overall shape information of thin film rapidly since they require more than 30 minutes to measure the absolute thickness for 170 points. The proposed framework is based on an image analysis method that extracts contour lines from interference fringes images using Canny edge detector. The absolute thickness for contour lines are measured and then a height map from the contour lines is obtained by interpolation using Borgefors distance transformation. The extracted height map is visualized using the DirectX 3D terrain rendering method. The proposed framework can provide 3D overall shape information of thin film in about 5 minutes since relatively small number of real measurement for contour lines is required.

  • Technique of length measurement error is widely used in the accuracy assessment of CMMS(Coordinate measuring machines) and machine tools, as it is simple and direct measurement within the working volume of a machine. In this paper, a new method is proposed for the evaluation of the length measurement error in relation to the volumetric accuracy. lD, 2D, and 3D measuring lines are considered for recpective length measurement error: 1D, 2D, and 3D length measurement uncertainties are evaluated from volumetric accuracy. The relationship between the volumetric accuracy md length measurement error to is discussed. PC based system for length measurement error evaluation and simulation is developed.

  • The signaling pathway of D2 dopamine receptor was studied using yeaslt two-hybrid system.. The 3rd cytoplasmic loop of rat D2 dopamine receptor was used to screen the cDNA library of mouse brain. and ALY was found to interact with it. The interaction in the yeast was observed only with the 3rd cytoplasmic loop of D2 dopamine receptor but not with that of D3 or D4 dopamine receptor. The interaction between two proteins was also confirmed by GST pull-down assay. (omitted)

  • Ion-selective eleltrodes(ISEs) are simple electrodechemical devices for the direct measurement of ions in the samples. A novel potentiometric biosensor for the determination of L-Malate or D-isocitrate has been developed by using CO2-3 -ISE-FIA system was composed of a pump, an injector, a malic enzyme or isocitric dehydrogenase enzyme reactor, a CO2-3 -ISE, a pH/mV meter, and an integrater. The various factors, such as buffer capacity types of plstericizer and polymer, were optimized for the CO2-3 selectivity. In this novel CO2-3 --ISE-FIA system, the potential difference due to the amount of CO2-3 produced from each enzyme reaction was proportional to the amount of L-malate or D-isocitrate.

Direct 3-D Numerical Simulation of Overtopping on the Coastal Structures (해역구조물을 통한 월파의 3차원 수치계산기법의 개발)

  • In three dimensional wave field, a direct numerical simulation model, which is able to handle free-fall and slope-fall of a waterdrop due to overtopping, is proposed to evaluate the overtopping rate on the coastal structures like an absorbing revetment. A comparison between the numerical model and existing experimental results for overtopping rate was made to validate the proposed numerical model's accuracy, and showed fairly good agreement between them. It is confirmed in numerical and hydraulic(existing) model test that the overtopping quantity on a absorbing revetment becomes larger with an increase in Ursell number. Also, the overtopping rate estimated by 3-D numerical model is compared with it obtained by 2-D numerical model.

  • This paper considers the object tracking problem in three dimensional (3-D) space when the azimuth and elevation of the object are available from the passive acoustic sensor. The particle filtering technique can be directly applied to estimate the 3-D object location, but we propose to decompose the 3-D particle filter into the three planes' particle filters, which are individually designed for the 2-D bearings-only tracking problems. 2-D bearing information is derived from the azimuth and elevation of the object to be used for the 2-D particle filter. Two estimates of three planes' particle filters are selected based on the characterization of the acoustic sensor operation in a noisy environment. The Cramer-Rao Lower Bound of the proposed 2-D particle filter-based algorithm is derived and compared against the algorithm that is based on the direct 3-D particle filter.

  • A finite element analysis has been conducted to simulate direct/indirect extrusion process for AZ31 Mg alloy at various ram and die speeds. Uniaxial compression test on AZ31 Mg alloy was carried out at various strain rates and temperatures and the result was used as input data fur finite element analysis. It was found that ram speed affects the distribution of dead zone area during direct extrusion. The inhomogeneous temperature and strain distributions through the thickness direction can be simulated under the various extrusion process conditions.

  • The Direct Drive Arm(DDA) is a SCARA typed direct drive manipulator with two degrees-of-freedom(DOF) using the direct drive motor of the NSK company. A controller system for the SCARA robot of DDA is designed using a DSP (TMS32Oc3O), which has the highest performance among the third DSP chips in the TI company. The design objective of the system is to implement dynamic control algorithms and neural control algorithms for real time learning which require a lot of calculations and large memory and have been tested only by simulations so far. The controller uses a DSP, a high speed D/A, 32-bit Counter and a large DRAM to implement advanced robot control algorithms.
