Transient Response Analysis of Frame Structures Using the Finite Element-transfer Stiffness Coefficient Method (FE-TSCM) (유한요소-전달강성계수법을 이용한 골조 구조물의 과도응답해석)

  • In order to decrease remarkably the computation time and storage used in the direct integration method without the loss of accuracy, authors suggest a new transient analysis algorithm. This algorithm is derived from the combination of three techniques, that is, the transfer technique of the transfer stiffness coefficient method, the modeling technique of the finite element method, and the numerical integration technique of the Newmark method. In this paper, the transient analysis algorithm of a frame structure is formulated by the proposed method. The accuracy and computation efficiency of the proposed method are demonstrated through the comparing with the computation results by the direct integration method for three computation models under various excitations.

  • This paper deals with an allocation strategy for the resources of direct load control program, which is considered the operating states in power systems. The existing approaches, load shedding priority algorithm, curtailment payback based algorithm and mixed curtailment algorithm, are based on the uniform allocation strategy. These approaches are not taken into account the operating states in power systems. So, under the critical operating condition, direct load control resource is evaluated by introducing the congestion factor.

  • In this paper we address a design problem for hub and spoke transportation networks and then consider a capacitated hub locations problem with direct shipment (CHLPwD). We determine the location of hubs, the allocation of nodes to hubs, and direct shipment paths in the network, with the objective of minimizing the total cost in the network. An evolutionary algorithm is developed here to solve the CHLPwD. To do this, we propose the representation and the genetic operators suitable for the problem and adopt a heuristic method for the allocation of nodes to hubs. To enhance the search capability, problem-specific information is used in our evolutionary algorithm. The proposed algorithm is compared with the heuristic method in terms of solution quality and computation time. The experimental results show that our algorithm can provide better solutions than the heuristic.

  • This paper presents a lane-change collision avoidance control algorithm for autonomous vehicles that will be used in AHS(Automated Highway System). In the proposed control algorithm, nominal control inputs are generated by solving the inverse vehicle dynamic equations of motion for a lane-change maneuver. In addition, a corrective steering input from preview as well as DYC (Direct Yaw Moment Control) may be included to reduce unpredictable errors and to insure yaw directional stability, respectively. The performance of the algorithm is evaluated with an ABS HILS system which consist of 17 DOF vehicle model and real ABS hardware parts. The HILS simulation results show that the proposed algorithm may be used for emergency lane-change maneuvers for autonomous vehicles.

  • This paper presents a simple but effective DYC algorithm which enhances vehicle lateral stability by using an anti=lock brake system (ABS). In the proposed algorithm, only the front outer wheel is controlled during cornering maneuver instead of controlling all four wheels because the wheel has the largest role in DYC and it is easy and simple to control the only one wheel. An ABS Hardware - In -The -Loop Simulation ( HILS) system that may be used to realistically test real vehicle dynamic behavior in a lab is used for evaluating the proposed DYC algorithm in severe situations where a vehicle is destabilized without DYC . The HILS results show that the proposed DYC algorithm has the potential of maintaining vehicle stability in some dangerous situations.

  • Optimization in the engineering design is to select the best of many possible design alternatives in a complex design space. One major problem of local minimization algorithm is that they often result in local optima. In this paper, a hybrid method was developed by coupling the genetic algorithm and a traditional direct search method. The proposed method first finds a region for possible global optimum using the genetic algorithm and then searchs for a global optimum using the direct search method. To evaluate the performance of the hybrid method, it was applied to three test problems and a problem of designing corrugate bulkhead of a ship.

  • This paper discusses the development of a new optimization algorithm for DC motor design. In principle, the new algorithm utilizes a mixed method that consists of genetic algorithms in conjunction with direct search method. The genetic algorithms are used for locating the global optimum region while the direct search method is used to achieve objective function convergence. In order to validate the effectiveness, the new algorithm has been applied to an actual DC motor. Field and torque characteristics of the DC motor are computed using finite element method and the principle of virtual work, respectively.

  • In this paper, the decrease multipoint search method and Its learning algorithm for optimum value computatlon method of object function Is proposed. Using this method, the number of evaluation point according to searching time can t)e reduced multipoint of the direct search method by applying the unlivarlate method. And the learning algorithm can reprat the same search method in a new established boundary by using the searched result. In order to Investigate the efficience of algorithm, this method this method is applied to Rosenbrock and Powell, Colvelle function that are Impossible or uncertain in traditional direct search method. And the result of application, the optimum value searching oil every function Is successful. Especially, the algorithm is certified as a good calculation method for producing global(absolute) optimum value.

  • In this thesis, we consider an iterative learning controller to control the continuous trajectory of 2 links direct drive robot manipulator and process computer simulation and real-time experiment. To improve control performance, we adapt an iterative learning control algorithm, drive a sufficient condition for convergence from which is drived extended conventional control algorithm and get better performance by extended learning control algorithm than that by conventional algorithm from simulation results. Also, experimental results show that better performance is taken by extended learning algorithm.

  • Direct motor-driven winding has been increasingly applied in winding machinery. However, it is necessary to analyze the kinematics of winding prior to developing the winding control algorithm, because direct motor-driven winding machine should be operated in accordance with the pre-determined kinematic information for the winding control. This paper presents the kinematics of the degressive winding method and its kinematic winding control algorithm in order to wind the required volume of a pirn package in a desired shape. The proposed algorithm can give the appropriate yarn speed, traverse speed, and the spin speed of the spindle at every traverse stroke, which are utilized for controlling the spindle motor and traverse motor of the winding machine. Computer winding simulations showed that the proposed algorithm is successful in the degressive pirn winding.
