We present a high performance cache structure with a hardware prefetching mechanism that enhances exploitation of spatial and temporal locality. Temporal locality is exploited by selectively moving small blocks into the direct-mapped cache after monitoring their activity in the spatial buffer. Spatial locality is enhanced by intelligently prefetching a neighboring block when a spatial buffer hit occurs. We show that the prefetch operation is highly accurate: over 90% of all prefetches generated are for blocks that are subsequently accessed. Our results show that the system enables the cache size to be reduced by a factor of four to eight relative to a conventional direct-mapped cache while maintaining similar performance.

In this paper, we propose a new method to analyze the performance degradation by timing jitters in the receivers of intensity modulation/direct detection digital optical communication systems where pulse-shaping filters are used to minimize intersymbol interference. The results obtained from the proposed analytical method show that conventional analytical methods underestimate the influence of timing jitters on the receiver performance. Using the proposed anlaytical method, we derive an analytic equation for approximated power penalty due to timing itters and obtain an exact power penalty by numerical analyses. Assuming Gaussian or uniform probability density function for timing jitters, we also show that assumption of Gaussian distribution for timing jitters yields more performance degration than that of uniform distribution.

Every 3000 hour an aircraft is stricken by a lightning. Also the lightning damage to the aircraft during flight are continually occurred due to extreme weather phenomena such as global warming. Under the airworthiness standards, the aircraft must be designed to protect lightning. To show compliance for lightning, the test should be conducted by the actual lightning current and voltage waveform for the actual aircraft or parts. After test, structure damage is detected via visual inspection or NDI. Structure substantiation for damage is to show retaining limit or near limit load capability. This is conducted by test or analysis based on test. Thus, the aircraft should retain structural strength to land safely, even though the damage of aircraft fuselage from Lightning strike are occurred.

The purpose of this study is to analysis relative efficiency and efficiency in process of time. Thus we use panel data of 34 local public medical centers between 2003 and 2005 to use DEA and Malmquist analysis. The result of our this study is as flow; first, The results of static efficiency of 34 local public medical centers show 10 CCR model and 23 BCC model which is difference of efficiency by economic of scale. Second, a cause of increased efficiency is not only change of technology but also change of efficiency to management system index show between 2003 and 2005 by Malmquist analysis and contracting-out is higher than direct management between 2004 and 2005. That means efficiency of local public medical centers is their own effort and innovation not government subsidies.

Windows provides Directshow for efficient multimedia streaming processings such as multimedia capture, storage, display and etc. Presently, many motion picture codecs and audio codecs are made to be used in Directshow framework and Windows also supports many codecs (MPEG4, H,263, WMV, WMA, ASF, etc.) in addition to a lot of useful tools for multimedia streaming processing. Therefore, Directshow can be effectively utilized for developing windows-based multimedia streaming applications such as visual monitoring systems which needs to store real-time video data for later retrieval. In this paper, we present our efforts for developing a Directshow Filter System supporting storage of motion pictures in various motion picture codecs. Our Directshow Filter system also provides an additional functionality of motion detection.

본 논문에서는 한국전자통신연구원 VR 연구센터에서 개발한 비선형 MPEG-2 편집 시스템인 "솔거 (Solger2001)"를 소개한다. 솔거는 PC 환경에서 MPEG-2 스트림 데이터를 편집할 수 있는 통합형 비선형 편집기로, MS 사의 DirectShow 기반의 서브모듈(sub-module)로 개발된 여러 필터들을 기반으로 다양한 시각/음향효과 처리를 제공한다. 이외에도 코덱의 속도론 높이기 위하여 Intel 의 MMX 기술을 적용하였다. 솔거의 특징은 시스템의 구성 가격을 낮추기 위하여 하드웨어 부가 장치 없이 모든 하부 모듈을 소프트웨어만으로 구성하였으며. DirectShow 필터를 기반으로 개발하여 시스템의 확장성과 이식성을 높였다.

In this paper, we proposed a new ARMA model identification which estimate the parameters to make the current prediction error uncorrelated with the past one. As good properties of the proposed method, we show the uniqueness, consistency of the estimate and asymptotic normality of the estimation error. Via simulation results, we show that the proposed method give good estimates for various systems which have different power spectrum. Moreover, the estimation of gyroscope random errors shows that the proposed method is applicable to the real data.

Design sensitivity analysis of a vehicle system is an essential tool for design optimization and trade-off studies. Most optimization algorithms require the derivatives of cost and constraint function with respect to design in order to calculate the next improved design. This paper presents an efficient algorithm application for the design sensitivity analysis, using the direct differentiation method. A mounting area of suspension that welded on chassis frame is analyzed to show the validity and the efficiency of the proposed method. 본 연구는 해외직접구매 사이트에 대한 소비자 태도를 유발하는 요인들을 혜택지각요인, 위험지각요인, 제품측면, 웹사이트측면에서 종합적으로 살펴봄으로써 각각의 요인들의 상대적인 영향력을 비교하였다. 이를 위해 해외직접구매 경험이 있는 한국소비자 298명을 대상으로 실증분석 하였다. 분석결과 해외직접구매 사이트에 대한 신뢰수준에 가장 높은 영향을 미치는 요인은 배송위험과 제품성능위험으로 나타났다. 또한 해외직접구매 사이트에 대한 신뢰수준은 추천의도와 지속적 이용의도에도 강력한 영향력을 가진다는 것을 본 연구결과를 통해 확인할 수 있었다. 아울러 본 연구는 해외직접구매의 유형(해외직접배송, 해외구매대행, 해외배송대행)과 소비자들이 주요하게 구매하는 제품군(의류, 식 음료품, 가전제품)에 따라 평균차이검정을 수행하였다. 이를 통해 각각의 해외직접구매 서비스 관련 주체별, 소비자 특성별로 적용될 수 있는 다양한 실무적 시사점들을 제안하고자 하였다.

Objective: The purpose of this study was to identify differences in measurement methods for blood pressure (Direct measurement, HP automatic indirect measurement, and SE 7000 Korean made indirect measurement), and to evaluate the clinical trial of the Korean made automatic indirect blood pressure measurement. Material & Methods: From June, 1999 to February, 2000, fifty five consecutive patients were randomized into hypertension group (n=20), normotension group (n=20), and hypotension group (n= 15). Measuring blood pressure by indirect methods (HP NIBP M 1008B and SE 7000 NIBP Korean made) was done simultaneously in the same arm with arterial line for direct blood pressure measurement (HP M1006A). The procedures were repeated ten times at intervals of 2 minutes. Statistical analysis was Performed using SPSS (version 8.0 for windows) software package. Values were expressed as means and standard deviation and means were compared using t-test. Statistical significance was considered present with a p value less than 0.05. Results: In the hypertension group and noromotension group, the disparity between HP direct measurement and indirect SE 7000 NIBP did not show any differences compared to the disparity between HP direct measurement and indirect HP NIBP. In the hypotension group, the disparity in the diastolic pressure between HP direct measurement and indirect SE 7000 NIBP was significantly different compared to the disparity between HP direct measurement and indirect HP NIBP (p<0.001), however, disparities in systolic pressure did not showed any differences. Conclusion: Direct blood pressure measurement (HP M1006A) can be replaced with indirect blood pressure measurements (HP NIBP M 1008B & SE 7000 NIBP) in normotension and hypertension patients. Korean made indirect measurement was found to be more accurate compared to HP indirect measurement in hypotension Patients, but more study is needed.
