Update the finite element model of Canton Tower based on direct matrix updating with incomplete modal data

  • In this paper, the structural health monitoring (SHM) benchmark problem of the Canton tower is studied. Based on the field monitoring data from the 20 accelerometers deployed on the tower, some modal frequencies and mode shapes at measured degrees of freedom of the tower are identified. Then, these identified incomplete modal data are used to update the reduced finite element (FE) model of the tower by a novel algorithm. The proposed algorithm avoids the problem of subjective selection of updated parameters and directly updates model stiffness matrix without model reduction or modal expansion approach. Only the eigenvalues and eigenvectors of the normal finite element models corresponding to the measured modes are needed in the computation procedures. The updated model not only possesses the measured modal frequencies and mode shapes but also preserves the modal frequencies and modes shapes in their normal values for the unobserved modes. Updating results including the natural frequencies and mode shapes are compared with the experimental ones to evaluate the proposed algorithm. Also, dynamic responses estimated from the updated FE model using remote senor locations are compared with the measurement ones to validate the convergence of the updated model.

  • Direct teaching is an essential function for collaborative robots for easy use by non-experts. For most robots, direct teaching is implemented only in joint space because the realization of Cartesian space direct teaching, in which the orientation of the end-effector is fixed while teaching, requires a measurement of the end-effector force. Thus, it is limited to the robots that are equipped with an expensive force/torque sensor. This study presents a Cartesian space direct teaching method for torque-controlled collaborative robots without either a force/torque sensor or joint torque sensors. The force exerted to the end-effector is obtained from the external torque which is estimated by the disturbance observer-based approach with the friction model. The friction model and the estimated end-effector force were experimentally verified using the robot equipped with joint torque sensors in order to compare the proposed sensorless approach with the method using torque sensors.

  • The static characteristics of air-lubricated slider bearing were performed using direct numerical method. The equations of motion of slider bearing are solved simultaneously with the Reynolds equation for three degrees of freedom. The molecular rarefaction effect is considered. The models implemented include the first-order slip, the second-order slip, and the Boltzmann equation model derived by Fukui and Kaneko(FK model)

  • The purpose of this study is to analyze potential adoption rates and reusing patterns of the new rice direct seeding technology. The model constructed and employed in this study is a system dynamics model of farmer adoption and reusing patterns for this new technology over time. The model incorporates a causal loop diagram that explains interactions among rice cultivation subsystems with feedback loops and further attempts to build a causal loop model with stock-flow diagram for computer simulation. As one example of how the model can be used to provide insight to rice farmers, simulations are run over varying levels on the cultivation process of rice. The major finding is to demonstrate the utility of system dynamics simulation methodology in aiding the rice wet direct seeding farmers' decision making.

유통경로 관리 지배구조가 시장지향성과 수출성과 관계에 미치는 영향 (The Impacts of Distribution Channel Governance on the Relationship between Market Orientation and Export Performance)

  • Purpose - The objectives of this study are as follows. First, it aims to suggest an analysis model that has integrated the relationship between the two factors and export performance and conduct an empirical analysis of the factors. Second, the study seeks to analyze the mediating effect by setting direct channel governance as a specific activity to connect market orientation, a cultural asset, to export performance. Third, through these analyses, the study intends to apply the relationship between market orientation and direct channel governance that the existing studies have failed to observe comprehensively on SMEs in Korea. Based on these analyses, the study expects to expand the discussion of previous researches by analyzing the mediating effect of direct channel governance. Research design, data, and methodology - This study developed a model that has integrated market orientation, direct channel governance, and export performance. It established 7 hypotheses including the mediating effect of direct channel governance. Market orientation was consisted of customer orientation and competitor orientation, and 4 latent variables were measured by 18 questions. LISREL, an analysis tool of structural equation model, was used for hypothesis test and there were 183 sample for analysis. Results - The analysis results showed that customer orientation has a positive influence on direct channel governance, but competitor orientation did not have a statistically significant effect. On the contrary, export performance showed an opposite result. That is, customer orientation did not have any influence but competitor orientation had a significant influence on export performance. It was also confirmed that there was a significant influence in the relationship between channel governance and export performance. According to the analysis of mediating effect, direct channel governance had a full mediating effect between customer orientation and export performance. Conclusions - The study results demonstrated that it is important to build a direct channel governance on the export SMEs in Korea, especially since the direct channel governance complements the influence of customer orientation that does not directly influence export performance among market orientation activities. This implies that Korean export SMEs must strive to build an effective direct channel governance.

  • In this paper we suggest a novel temperature detection method utilized in direct over-temperature protection circuit modeling. The suggested model detects temperature variation using Rds(on) characteristics of MOSFET, while the conventional methods are using extra devices such as a temperature sensor or an over-temperature detection transistor. The temperature-dependant MOSFET model is implemented using Spice ABM(Spice Analog Behavior Model). The direct over-temperature protection circuit was designed including it. We verified effectiveness of the temperature dependant Rds(on) model characteristics and performance of the direct over-temperature protection circuit on PSpice simulation

패션매거진 Vogue의 패션사진에 나타난 이미지 표현형식 및 모델 포즈의 활용유형 분석 (Analysis of Vogue Magazine on Forms of Image Expression and Utilization of Model Poses in Fashion Photos)

  • The study aims to examine the forms of 'image expression' and utilization of model poses in fashion photos, and to delve into the characteristics and the intents that make certain model poses effective in expressing an image. The study used the fashion photos in the fashion magazine, Vogue, to analyze the different model poses used to express different images. The results are as follows. First, image expression forms in fashion photos were categorized into 'direct product suggestion expression form', 'sensual image expression form', 'sexual image expression form', 'story telling expression form', 'everyday situation expression form', and 'fantastic image expression form'. The different utilization types of model poses were categorized into 'type utilizing intangible elements', 'type utilizing complicated elements', 'type utilizing living organisms', 'type utilizing props', 'type utilizing clothes', 'type utilizing location', 'type utilizing accessories', and 'type utilizing products'. Second, the most common expression form for fashion photos used in advertisements was the 'direct product suggestion expression form', which was followed by the sensual image expression form. The most popular form used in the editorial fashion photos was the direct suggestion product expression form, which was followed by the story telling expression form. Third, the most common model pose type for direct product suggestion form was the 'type utilizing product'. Fourth, 'direct product suggestion expression form' was mostly used in editorial fashion photos. The most common utilization types of model poses were 'type utilizing clothes', 'type utilizing props', and 'type utilizing place'.

파라메터 직접 추출법을 이용한 스케일 가능한 HBT의 모델링 (Scalable HBT Modeling using Direct Extraction Method of Model Parameters)

  • 새로운 전류원 모델과 이 전류원 모델에 대응하는 파라메터의 직접추출 방법을 제안하였다. 전류원 모델파라메터를 위한 정확하고 해석적인 계산방법을 유도하였다. 이러한 해석적 모델링 방법을 기반으로 스케일 가능한 H8T 모델을 만드는 방법에 적용되었다. 단조함수적 스케일링이 가능하도록 하도록 하기 위해, 모델링 과정에서, 몇몇 파라메터들의 증복성(redunduncy)을 제거하는 방법을 개발하였다. 이러한 방법에 기반을 둔 모델을 실제 소자에 적용 했을때, 소자의 온도, 바이어스 및 크기변화를 잘 예측할 수 있었다.

  • An automatic transmission of construction equipment is controlled by hydraulic and electronic system for doing in various functions like as shifting and operation. The shifting is operated by the engaged and disengaged clutch motion from hydraulic power. On the shifting process, suitable pressure control to the clutch is required for smooth shifting. Hydraulic control system in the automatic transmission is divided by the pilot control type and the direct control type greatly. The direct control type has an advantage than the pilot control type. Because the structure is simple, the design and the manufacture are having less troubles and the system can be maximized precision pressure control. However, the excellent performance proportional control valve should be used to achieve proper control-ability. In this study, the dynamic analysis model composing the automatic transmission and hydraulic system for forklift truck is presented to simulate the characteristics of hydraulic system about the direct control type. That model is verified the validity compared the results of the testing examination. Parameters of input signal are analyzed to reduce the output torque according to input control signal is affected in shifting characteristic.

비선형 현가요소를 가진 철도차량의 승차감 민감도 해석 (Ride Sensitivity Analysis of a Train With Non-linear Suspension Elements)

  • In this study, and analytical method for ride sensitivity analysis of a train with non-linear suspension elements are proposed. Non-linear characteristics of springs and dampers for primary and secondary suspensions of a train are parameterized using polynomial interpolation. Vertical dynamic model of a three-body train running on straight rail with the predetermined roughness expressed in terms of spectral density function is set up and its equations of motion for ride analysis are derived. Using the direct differentiation method, sensitivity equations of the vertical dynamic model with respect to design parameters associated with non-linearity of suspensions are obtained. Based on the sensitivity analysis, improvement of ride is achieved by varying appropriate suspension parameters.
