A Self-Excited Induction Generator with Simple Voltage Regulation Suitable for Wind Energy

  • In this paper, a three-phase induction machine-based wind power generation scheme is proposed. This scheme uses a low-cost diode bridge rectifier circuit connected to an induction machine via an ac load voltage regulator (AC-LVR) to regulate dc power transfer. The AC-LVR is used to regulate the DC load voltage of the diode bridge rectifier circuit which is connected to the three-phase self-excited induction generator (SEIG). The excitation of the three-phase SEIG is supplied by the static VAR compensator (SVC). This simple method for obtaining a full variable-speed wind turbine system by applying a back-to-back power converter to a wound rotor induction generator is useful for wind power generation at widely varying speeds. The dynamic performance responses and the experimental results of connecting a 5kW 220V three-phase SEIG directly to a diode bridge rectifier are presented for various loads. Moreover, the steady-state simulated and experimental results of the PI closed-loop feedback voltage regulation scheme prove the practical effectiveness of these simple methods for use with a wind turbine system.

  • In this paper, The characteristic of Harmonic spectrum is studied for generally used three-phase diode rectifier. and filter design criteria is showen in the sense of THD, DPF, and PF. As the becoming of Automative and informative era, the demand of critical and stable control becomes more and more important. But much EMI emissions are generated for more critical and stable control in power electronic system these EMI emissions can be measured using LISN(Line Impedance Stabilization Network). So we are to investigate the behavior of Conducted EMI emission in Diode Rectifiers using LISN in frequency domain.

Diode and MOSFET Properties of Trench-Gate-Type Super-Barrier Rectifier with P-Body Implantation Condition for Power System Application

  • In this paper, we investigate the electrical characteristics of two trench-gate-type super-barrier rectifiers (TSBRs) under different p-body implantation conditions (low and high). Also, design considerations for the TSBRs are discussed in this paper. The TSBRs' electrical properties depend strongly on their respective p-body implantation conditions. In the case of the TSBR with a low p-body implantation condition, it exhibits MOSFET-like properties, such as a low forward voltage ($V_F$) drop, high reverse leakage current, and a low peak reverse recovery current owing to a majority carrier operation. However, in the case of the TSBR with a high p-body implantation condition, it exhibits pn junction diode.like properties, such as a high $V_F$, low reverse leakage current, and high peak reverse recovery current owing to a minority carrier operation. As a result, the TSBR with a low p-body implantation condition is capable of operating as a MOSFET, and the TSBR with a high p-body implantation condition is capable of operating as either a pn junction diode or a MOSFET, but not both at the same time.

  • In general, Diode makes a major role in electronic circuit. For example, switching of rectifier, cross current of switching rectifier, energy transfer of electronic element and reverse charge of capacitor, voltage insulation, energy feedback from load to power supply, and such as recovery of storaged energy. Generally, We regard power diode as ideal element, but it has a certain boundary actually, specially, We use diode for detecting circuit peak hold voltage signal. It has cut in voltage. It occurs error of measurement value namely. This error, below in region diode voltage drop (0.7v) measurement value is wholesome signal, Specially, We can not get precision data. Therefore, precision level is low between theoretical and measurement data because of error in actual circuit. Conclusionally, In this paper, We define the error concerning to the power diode characteristics which is used detecting of the minute signal, and recommend the method that minimize measurement error.

  • PDP 유지전원단을 위한 고효율을 갖는 새로운 페이지 쉬프트 풀브릿지 컨버터를 제안한다. 제안된 컨버터는 Rectifier로 Voltage Doubler를 사용함으로서, 큰 사이즈의 Output Inductor가 없게 되어 간단한 구조를 가지게 되며 Rectifier Diodes의 전압 스트레스가 출력전압으로 클램핑되어서 스너버회로가 필요없다는 장점을 가지게 된다. 또한 넓은 영전압 스위칭 구간을 가지며, 트랜스포머의 기생성분인 Leakage 인덕터와 Voltage doubler의 캐패시터간의 공진을 이용함으로서 전류가 작은 RMS값을 가지게 되어서 낮은 도통손실과 Rectifier Diode의 전류 스트레스 또한 낮다는 장점을 가지게 된다. 본 논문을 통해 제안된 컨버터의 동작원리와 해석, 실험을 수행하였다.

  • In this paper results of the experiment which used LLC resonant half bridge DC-DC converter to a portable electrical equipment. LLC resonance Half Bridge DC-DC converter which was used in this experiment improved an efficiency because it reduced switching, conduction losses and with synchronous rectifier. As a result of the experiment, this proposed converter could verified an increase of 2% to the efficiency more than diode rectifier.

  • 본 논문에서는 2대의 다이오드 정류기에 부스트 컨버터를 이용하여 전류의 파형을 능동적으로 만들어 정현파의 입력전류를 얻는 새로운 방식의 고조파 저감방식을 제안한다. 제안한 방식으로 고역률의 전원 품질을 얻을 수 있으며 입력측의 변동에 대한 출력전압의 조정도 가능하다. 또한 저감된 용량을 갖는 3상 오토트랜스포머의 사용으로 기존의 $\Delta$-Y 변압기에 비해 KVA정격이 75% 절감되며 상간변압기도 필요 없다. 본 방식을 소형화와 고품질의 전원이 요구되는 통신용 정류기등에 적용하면 효과적이다. 제안한 방식의 동작원리, 제어 및 설계방법을 기술하고 1.5KW급 시작품으로부터의 실험결과를 제시한다.
