  • This study aims to examine eligibilities, services and delivery of services for the current end-of-life care and analyze the quality control of services for end-of-life care. We analyzed the literature and laws on end-of-life systems in Korean and the United States. Current end-of-life care, hospice and palliative care in Korea is being provided mainly in hospital setting. Quality control for the services focuses on setting the criteria for structures in hospitals (i.e. staffing, facilities and equipment). Whereas American end-of-life care system has much broader eligibility for service beneficiaries and provides care mostly at home. Also quality control for services includes process (delivering service) and outcomes, such as monitoring performance indicators and consumer's satisfaction. This is linked to annual payment. The comparative analysis findings contributed to give the next direction of current Korean end-of-life care system. It is nessary to establish the better and extensive end-of-life care system in Korea in considering other countries' end-of-life care systems based on more future research.

In this study, the properties of mobile phone that influence on the choice of handset and telecom company were analyzed. General properties of respondents were explored and the mobile phone properties were grouped by common factors. And analyzed the effect of factors on customer satisfaction with structural equation model. 10.4% of respondents are used their handset more than two years and 48.7% wanted to purchase other manufacturer's handset if they repurchase mobile phone. These results might come form the fact that the life cycle of mobile phone become shorter by the heating competition in mobile phone market and, to some degree, the influence of smart phone which recently become globally popular. Four factors, 'Hardware Quality', 'Practicality', 'Convergence Functions' and 'Level of Awareness', are induced from the mobile phone properties. In Structural Equation Model analysis, 'Hardware Quality' and 'Practicality' have significant and positive effects on Customer Satisfaction. But, 'Awareness' such as brand and trend appeared quite less influence on the customer satisfaction.

  • As user-centered design and content development emerge, the research and the establishment of items on usability evaluation are becoming more important. However, research on usability evaluation for digital systems in specific areas of mobile applications is still incomplete. Due to the recent development of wearable devices and smartphones, development and usage of quantified-self and life-logging applications has been rapidly increasing. This study aims to establish evaluation items and the main factors for the usability assessment of the applications that support life-logging services. In order to establish evaluation factors for life-logging application usability, we first gathered existing usability assessment items and selected the initial items through the Focus Group Interview(FGI). Second, we conducted user assessment surveys on the selected initial questionnaires and performed reliability and exploratory factor analyses based on the survey results. Third, through the statistical analyses results, we established 28 usability assessment items and four factors: recognition; functionality; aesthetics; and satisfaction. Finally, we discussed the expectations and limitations of the established usability assessment. The results from this paper could be used as a guideline for the usability assessment of life-logging applications and thus will contribute to effective content development.

  • Recently many organizations have adopted 'untact' work due to social distancing caused by Coronavirus-19. To clarify some controversy about the effectiveness from 'untact' work, it is necessary to examine the cognition of organizational members. This study identified issues in 'untact' work from the literature review, analyzed the content of in-depth interviews with workers and managers experiencing 'untact' work, and compared both groups' cognition by applying the co-orientation model. Both groups pointed out the communication difficulty as the top disadvantage and showed no significant differences in job satisfaction, organizational commitment, and work-life balance. However, the two groups showed significant differences in their cognition about performance evaluation (agreement and workers' congruence) and productivity enhancement (workers' accuracy). This paper has an academic contribution in that it has focused on cognitive gaps between workers and managers, urges organizations to devise ways to reduce the gaps, and suggests future studies with quantitative approaches.
