소셜 미디어 유형에 기반한 제품유형에 따른 정보 확산 차이 (Information Diffusion Difference by Product Type Based on Social Media Type)

  • 본 연구는 소셜 미디어 이용자들의 상호작용을 통한 제품정보 확산 패턴으로 트위터와 블로그의 특성차이에 따른 영향력을 확인해 보고자 시도되었다. 이에 각 매체에서의 제품정보에 관한 포스팅 수를 이용하여 바스모형을 통해 정보확산패턴을 확인해 보았다. 분석 결과 첫째, 블로그와 트위터 모두에서 실용재에 비해 쾌락재가 정보확산 속도가 빨랐다. 둘째, 제품유형에 관계없이 트위터는 블로그에 비해 모방효과의 영향력이 높게 나타났으며, 블로그는 트위터에 비해 혁신효과의 영향력이 높았다. 이를 통해 블로그는 트위터에 비해 이용자가 본인 스스로 직접적으로 정보를 찾는 경향이 더 높은 경향이 있으며, 트위터는 블로그에 비해 혁신에 대한 주관적 평가보다는 다른 사람으로의 전달된 평가에 더 의존하는 경향이 있음을 시사한다.

AN INNOVATION DIFFUSION MODEL IN PARTIAL COMPETITIVE AND COOPERATIVE MARKET: ANALYSIS WITH TWO INNOVATIONS

  • An innovation diffusion model is proposed model consists of three classes, namely, a non-adopter class, adopter class innovation-I, and adopter class innovation-II in a partially competitive and cooperative market. The proposed model is analyzed with the help of the qualitative theory of a system of ordinary differential equations. Basic influence numbers associated with first and second innovation $R_{0_1}$ and $R_{0_2}$ respectively in the absence of each other are quantified. Then the overall basic influence number (R0) of the system is assessed for analyzing stability in the market in different situations. Sensitivity analysis of basic influence numbers associated with first and second innovation in the absence of each other is carried out. Numerical simulation supports our analytical findings.

Technological Achievements and Economic Development: The Significance of Technological Achievement Gap in Selected East and South Asian Countries

  • Although technological progress is considered a key element for economic growth and development of a country, strong empirical evidence in this regard is not available yet. Therefore, to establish the empirical link between technology progress and economic development, it is advisable to carry out a time series analysis. In this regard, the Technology Achievement Index (TAI) of 100 top economies has been developed to examine the position of countries' technological progress for the 21 years spanning 1995 to 2015. Countries have been ranked on their TAI which is based on four pillars; technology creation, diffusion of older innovations, diffusion of recent innovations, and development of human skills. As well, this current study re-calculates the Humane Development Index (HDI) of 100 top economies for the 21 years from 1995 to 2015. Ranking of countries' HDI values reflects three dimensions: A long lifespan (life expectancy index), knowledge (Education Index) and a decent standard of living (Gross National Income Index, or GNI). The Standard Deviation (SD) technique has been used to investigate the technological gap between individual countries and groups of countries or regions. For a more meaningful assessment, technological gaps from the maximum achievement value (i.e., one of the countries under study) are presented as well. To investigate the impact of technological progress on economic development, this study introduces a model in which the HDI is used as the dependent variable and the TAI and Gross Capital Formation (GCF) are used as independent variables. The HDI, TAI and GCF are used in this model as proxy variables for economic development, technological progress and capital respectively. Econometric techniques have been used to show the impact of technological progress on economic development. The results show that long-term associations exist between technology progress and economic development; the impact of technology progress on economic development is 13.2% while the impact is 4.3% higher in eight selected East South Asian countries, at 13.5%, than in eight selected highly developed countries (9.2%).

지방정부의 저영향개발 적용에 영향을 주는 요인 연구 (Key Factors Influencing Low Impact Development Adoption by Local Governments)

  • 본 연구의 목적은 탐색적 연구방법을 통해 지방정부의 LID 적용에 영향을 주는 인자를 밝히는데 있다. 이를 위해서 미국 버지니아주의 지방정부 10곳을 사례조사지로 선정하여 LID 적용정도를 구분하였고, 이에 영향을 주는 요인으로 LID의 특성, 지방정부의 특성, 지방정부의 동기요인, 지방정부 외부의 영향 등을 혁신의 확산이론을 바탕으로 발전시켰다. 지방정부의 LID 적용정도 및 영향인자는 우수관리관련조례, 회의록, 인터뷰와 그 밖의 지자체 문서를 바탕으로 평가하였다. 연구결과에 따라 높은 LID 적용정도를 보인 지방정부 사례의 경우 해당 지방정부와 지역 커뮤니티에서 LID를 적극적으로 옹호하는 챔피언의 역할이 매우 크게 나타났다. 반면에 중간 및 낮은 정도의 LID 적용상태를 보인 지방정부의 경우는 외부적 요인 즉, 주정부의 강제적 법적규제가 중요한 요인으로 작용했으며 명확한 LID 적용모델에 대한 요구가 높게 나타났다.

Innovation and craft in a climate of technological change and diffusion

  • Industrial innovation in Britain, during the eighteenth and nineteenth centuries, stimulated the introduction of the factory system and the migration of people from rural agricultural communities to urban industrial societies. The factory system brought elevated levels of economic growth to the purveyors of capitalism, but forced people to migrate into cities where working conditions in factories were, in general, harsh and brutal, and living conditions were cramped, overcrowded and unsanitary. Industrial developments, known collectively as the 'Industrial Revolution', were driven initially by the harnessing of water and steam power, and the widespread construction of rail, shipping and road networks. Parallel with these changes, came the development of purchasing 'middle class', consumers. Various technological ripples (or waves of innovative activity) continued (worldwide) up to the early-twenty-first century. Of recent note are innovations in digital technology, with associated developments, for example, in artificial intelligence, robotics, 3-D printing, materials technology, computing, energy storage, nano-technology, data storage, biotechnology, 'smart textiles' and the introduction of what has become known as 'e-commerce'. This paper identifies the more important early technological innovations, their influence on textile manufacture, distribution and consumption, and the changed role of the designer and craftsperson over the course of these technological ripples. The implications of non-ethical production, globalisation and so-called 'fast fashion' and non-sustainability of manufacture are examined, and the potential benefits and opportunities offered by new and developing forms of social media are considered. The message is that hand-crafted products are ethical, sustainable and durable.

  • As the era of ChatGPT and generative AI technologies unfolds, the marketing industry stands on the precipice of a paradigm shift. Innovations such as GPT-4, DALL-E 2, and Mid-journey Stable Diffusion possess the capacity to dramatically transform the methods by which advertisers reach and engage with customers. The potential applications of these advanced tools herald a new age for the marketing and advertising sectors, offering unprecedented opportunities for growth and optimization. Nevertheless, the rapid adoption of generative AI within these industries presents a unique set of challenges, particularly for organizations that lack the necessary technological infrastructure and human capital to effectively leverage these innovations. As a result, a competitive crisis may emerge, exacerbating existing disparities between well-equipped enterprises and their less technologically adept counterparts. In this article, we undertake a comprehensive exploration of the implications of generative AI for the future of marketing, examining both its potential benefits and drawbacks. We consider the possible impact of these developments on the advertising and marketing industries at large, as well as the ways in which professionals operating within these fields may need to adapt to remain competitive in an increasingly AI-driven landscape. By providing a holistic overview of the challenges and opportunities associated with generative AI, this study aims to elucidate the complex dynamics at play in the ongoing evolution of the marketing and advertising sectors.

Buyer and Supplier Collaboration Strategy for Development and Production in the Korean Auto Industry

  • Purpose - This paper aims to articulate determinants of inter-organizational cooperation based on to the extent to which inter-organizational tasks are related to product development and production processes. Design/Methodology - This research conducted OLS regression analysis based on the data acquired from questionnaire survey in Korean auto industry. Findings - Our analysis has verified that complementary and compatible resources, as well as physical and human asset specificities, positively affect inter-organizational product development cooperation. Conversely, in the production process, only complementary resources positively affect inter-organizational cooperation, whereas compatible resources and physical asset specificity have a negative influence. The changing characteristics of compatible resources (with IT innovations and AI), and physical asset specificity (influenced by a rising need to reduce production costs), cause inter-organizational cooperation in production to decrease. Originality/value - This research attempts to expound upon these determining factors of inter-organizational cooperation by considering both complementary-compatible resources and asset specificity in product development and production simultaneously. The reason why the impact of complementary-compatible resources and asset specificity on inter-organizational cooperation is critical in understanding the determinants of inter-organizational cooperation is that the attributes of complementary-compatible resources and asset specificity in production have changed drastically due to the continuing diffusion of IT innovations and AI (Artificial Intelligence).

호텔정보기술 혁신요소가 전자상거래 확산, 경영성과에 미치는 영향 (Impacts of IT Innovation Factors of the Hotel upon E-commerce Diffusion, Management Performance)

  • 본 연구는 정보기술 혁신요소가 전자상거래 확산과 경영 성과에 미치는 영향을 밝히는데 있다. 조사 및 분석을 위하여 2009년 8월 15일부터 9월 15일까지 서울, 인천 지역에 위치하고 있는 특급호텔에서 구매업무를 수행하고 있는 구매부 직원과 재경부 직원을 중심으로 150부의 설문을 배포하였으며 그 중 135부를 분석에 사용하였다. 연구 결과 정보기술 혁신요소는 기업 내 확산과 기업 간 확산 모두에 영향을 주는 것으로 나타났으며, 경영성과에는 기업 내 확산만이 유의한 영향을 주는 것으로 나타났고 정보기술과 기업 간 확산은 경영성과에 유의한 영향을 주지 않는 것으로 조사되었다. 본 연구의 시사점은 정보기술 혁신요소가 기업 내 확산과 기업 간 확산에 영향을 주지만 경영성과에는 기업 내 확산만이 긍정적 효과를 주는 것으로 나타났기 때문에 경영성과를 이룩하기 위해서는 기업 내 확산을 활성화 시켜야한다는 시사점을 도출할 수 있다.

1인 가구를 위한 스마트 홈 서비스 기능의 우선순위 연구 - 인지된 혁신 특성 요인을 중심으로 - (A Study on functional priority of smart home service for single-person household - focusing on Perceived Attributes of Innovations -)

  • 본 연구는 스마트 홈 서비스의 잠재적 초기 수용자로서 1인 가구를 선정하여, 1인 가구의 채택 가능성을 높일 수 있는 기능적 우선순위를 제안하는 것에 목적을 둔다. 스마트 홈 서비스는 그 가치에 비해 확산이 매우 더디며, 특히 국내 스마트 홈 관련 시장의 경우 도입기에 정체되어있다. 이 문제를 해결하고자 혁신 확산 이론을 적용하였으며, 채택의 가능성을 높이기 위해 자신이 아니면 따로 가정을 관리할 가족 구성원이 없는 1인 가구를 스마트 홈 서비스의 잠재적 초기 수용자로 선정하여 설문을 통해 우선순위의 근거를 찾고자 하였다. 설문은 다음과 같이 구성된다. 1인 가구에 대한 이론적 고찰을 통해 대표적 특징을 꼽아 이에 따른 측정 문항을 선행연구를 토대로 재구성하였다. 이 후 스마트 홈 서비스의 개념 및 현황을 살펴보고, 대표 사례들을 분석하여 스마트 홈 서비스 기능들을 선정한 후 이에 혁신 확산이론에 대한 선행연구를 참고하여 선정된 인지된 혁신 특성 3 요소를 적용하여 측정 문항을 구성하였다. 총 62개의 응답을 분석한 결과, 현저히 낮은 값을 띄는 기능을 제외하여 다음과 같이 구성된 우선순위를 제안한다. [스마트 알람 - 에너지 소비 모니터링 - 자동 온·오프 타이머 - 내부컨디션 모니터링 - 그룹제어 - 보안 카메라 모니터링 - 원격제어 - 스케줄링/규칙설정] 이와 같이 구성된 기능적 우선순위는 1인 가구에게 가치 있는 서비스를 제공하기 위한 기초자료로서 역할을 할 것이며, 스마트 홈 서비스의 채택률을 높이는 출발점으로서의 의의를 가진다.

Influential Factors for COBIT Adoption Intention: An Empirical Analysis

  • In recent years, IT organizations are in the process of introducing IT Governance as the concept and measure of transparency, accountability and effectiveness of IT activities and control for managing governance processes. In this paper, the influential factors for IT organizations to adopt COBIT(The Control Objectives for Information and related Technology) which is a typical framework for effective IT Governance execution were classified and analyzed empirically into internal and external factors. Internal factors were designed based on influential factors in the theory of innovation diffusion, and external factors were designed based on influential factors from outside certification which were absent in COBIT and expertise support from the outside. The result of this study showed that understandability, transition and effectiveness which were internal factors had no effect on COBIT introduction, and only expertise support among certification and expertise support which were external factors had significant effects. This result shows that there are lack of COBIT supports and introduction in internal IT organizations. It is expected that the result of this study will allow strategic approach of COBIT adoption in future by verifying influential factors of COBIT introduction within IT organizations.
