In this study, the control strategies of indoor air temperature in floor radiant heating system were researched by computer simulation. The temperature difference based time control method using the difference of indoor set temperature and indoor temperature is compared with the existing On-Off control one for heating control performances. As a result, the temperature difference based time control method shows better thermal environmental characteristics in case of selected operational conditions in comparison with existing control one.
Mittag-Leffler stability of nonlinear fractional nabla difference systems is defined and the Lyapunov direct method is employed to provide sufficient conditions for Mittag-Leffler stability of, and in some cases the stability of, the zero solution of a system nonlinear fractional nabla difference equations. For this purpose, we obtain several properties of the exponential and one parameter Mittag-Leffler functions of fractional nabla calculus. Two examples are provided to illustrate the applicability of established results.
Existence and uniqueness results for solutions of system of Riemann-Liouville (R-L) fractional differential equations with initial time difference are obtained. Monotone technique is developed to obtain existence and uniqueness of solutions of system of R-L fractional differential equations with initial time difference.
Purpose: To examine the effectiveness of various treatments; bifocal spectacles, orthokeratology, atropine, and time spent in outdoors; in slowing down the myopia progression for Asian adolescents (6-18age). Methods: The research focused on examining the most effective treatment in controlling myopia based on the literature sources that have been published. Through meta-analysis of various research papers that already has been done in this field, a lot of data was collected. For each treatment, the difference in axial length and spherical equivalent over time was measured and recorded. To quantitatively record the difference, both axial length and spherical equivalent was determined by value of control group value of treatment group. The paper compared the effectiveness of each treatment based on the data that was measured. Results: Adolescents who chose to spend time outdoors in order to slow down myopia progression had axial length difference of 0.03 mm and spherical equivalent difference of 0.17 D. Adolescents that used atropine had axial length difference of 0.36 mm and spherical equivalent difference of 0.92 D. Bifocal spectacle resulted in axial length difference of 0.21 mm and spherical equivalent difference of 0.59 D, and for orthokeratology 0.23 mm and 0.04 D, respectively. Axial length wise, myopia was most controlled by the atropine since there was a greatest difference between the group that got the treatment and the group that did not have the treatment. According to the spherical equivalent difference data, myopia was most controlled by atropine. Conclusion: Atropine showed the most effective result in controlling myopia among the four treatment. Again, compared to other three treatment, using atropine appeared to have greatest ability in slowing down myopia progression since adolescents who were treated with atropine had greatest difference from adolescents in the control group that had the same condition but didn't get the treatment. However, every treatment was only used for 2 or 3 years which is quite short time period to measure the long term effect of the four treatments. Also, since atropine is a pharmaceutical method to control myopia, it may harm adolescents' eyes compared to optical or environmental treatment.

This paper provides a novel extended Moving Least Squares(MLS) difference method for the potential problem with weak and strong discontinuities. The conventional MLS difference method is enhanced with jump functions such as step function, wedge function and scissors function to model discontinuities in the solution and the derivative fields. When discretizing the governing equations, additional unknowns are not yielded because the jump functions are decided from the known interface condition. The Poisson type PDE's are discretized by the difference equations constructed on nodes. The system of equations built up by assembling the difference equations are directly solved, which is very efficient. Numerical examples show the excellence of the proposed numerical method. The method is expected to be applied to various discontinuity related problems such as crack problem, moving boundary problem and interaction problems.

This paper presents a novel numerical method based on the extended moving least squares finite difference method(MLS FDM) for solving 1-D Stefan problem. The MLS FDM is employed for easy numerical modelling of the moving boundary and Taylor polynomial is extended using wedge function for accurate capturing of interfacial singularity. Difference equations for the governing equations are constructed by implicit method which makes the numerical method stable. Numerical experiments prove that the extended MLS FDM show high accuracy and efficiency in solving semi-infinite melting, cylindrical solidification problems with moving interfacial boundary.
Antineoplastic agents may exhibit effects not only in patients therapeutically exposed, but also in health workers who prepare and administer these drugs. This study was done to clarify whether nurses who handle anticancer drugs show signs of drug absorption. The experimental group was 14 nurses handling anticancer drugs at three medical wards of a hospital in J city ; the control group was 12 psychiatric nurses at the same hospital. The test materials were the nurses' 24hr urine specimens, which were concentrated by XAD-2 column chromatograpy. Tester strains were TA98(±S9mix), TA100(±S9 mix), TA1535(±S9 mix) and TA1537(±S9 mix) : the salmonella mammalian microsomal test (Ames test) was used for the urinary mutagenicity assay. The results are summarized as follow : 1. In qualitative analysis of the results, both experimental group and control group showed 15.4% urine toxicity. 2. The experimental group revealed significantly higher urinary mutagenicity both in the activation method test and non-activation method test of the tester strains TA98, TA100 and TA1535. In the case of TA1537, the two groups showed no difference in the non-activation method test, but the activation method revealed a difference. 3. In urinary mutagenicity of the experimental group by ward career, there was a significant difference between the group with more than 20 months experience and the group with less than 20 months on the tester strains TA98, TA100, and TA1537. No Significant difference was found between two groups by the tester strain TA1535.
Spatial change of craniofacial structures from growth or orthopedic force is usually evaluated by cephalometric superimpositions at different points in time.As the evaluation cu be changed according to cephalometric superimposition method, selettion for correct superimposition method is very important.Double registration of nineteen pairs of female lateral head films, their growth period is average 3.7 years and age is overage 10.7 years, were performed by two observers.Comparisions was made between two methods and the results revealed the following, 1. NS line and ACB superimpositions ate not markedly different in reliability due to almost same registration error of them. 2. The investigation was undertaken to examine interobserver difference. In NS line method, there is no significance in all measurements. In ACB method, significant difference was revealed in 4 measurements of 7 measurements was 3. In the investigation of intermethod difference, there is no significance between NS line and ACB superimpositions

A method for estimating the instantaneous phasor of a fault current signal is proposed for high-speed distance protection that is immune to a DC-offset. The method uses a modified notch filter in order to eliminate the power frequency component from the fault current signal. Since the output of the modified notch filter is the delayed DC-offset, delay compensation results in the same waveform as the original DC-offset. Subtracting the obtained DC-offset from the fault current signal yields a sinusoidal waveform, which becomes the real part of the instantaneous phasor. The imaginary part of the instantaneous phasor is based on the first difference of the fault current signal. Since a DC-offset also appears in the first difference, the DC-offset is removed trom the first difference using the results of the delay compensation. The performance of the proposed method was evaluated for a-phase to ground faults on a 345kV 100km overhead transmission line. The Electromagnetic Transient Program was utilized to generate fault current signals for different fault locations and fault inception angles. The performance evaluation showed that the proposed method can estimate the instantaneous phasor of a fault current signal with high speed and high accuracy.
This paper is concerned with the determination of exact buckling loads and vibration frequencies of variable thickness isotropic plates using well known finite difference technique. The plates are subjected to uni, biaxial compression and shear loadings and various combinations of boundary conditions are considered. The buckling load is found out as the in plane load that makes the determinant of the stiffness matrix equal to zero and the natural frequencies are found out by carrying out eigenvalue analysis of stiffness and mass matrices. New and exact results are given for many cases and the results are in close agreement with the published results. In this paper, like finite element method, finite difference method is applied in a very simple manner and the application of boundary conditions is also automatic.
