This study aims to find out various users' diverse interior design needs for their housing and interior design through the personality, which is intrinsic and consistent traits of the individual. The survey research followed the literature reviews including personality studies and interior design assessments. 176 undergraduate and graduate students as controlled by age, sex, and major answered the questionnaire. Their housing and interior design attitudes, the semiotic assessment of interior design styles, and interior design preference were compared in accordance with four pairs of preference dichotomy of MBTI (Myers-Briggs Type Indicator): Extraversion -Introversion, Sensing-iNtuition, Thinking-Feeling, Judging-Perceiving. As a result, the framework of housing and interior design needs by the users' personality types are proposed. It shows specific needs for 16 types of personality based on eight preference dichotomy: extroversion-open, introversion-closed, sensing-functional, intuition-emotional, thinking-restricted, feeling-receptive, judging-simple, and perceiving-creative.

In thihs paper, I investigate the different usage of a reflexive-anaphor or logophor. Some African languages which have a morphologically independent set of logophors give a clue to this dichotomy. English which does not have morphologically independent logophors employs a reflexive-self form to be used as a logophor. However, the logophors in English occur in restricted environments. On the other hand, Korean is freer than English in that it allows areflexive to be interchanged with a logophor. With this assumption, I deal with the binding in Optimality Theory. I set up the constraints-MAXlog,ana,MINlog,ana, and Ølog,ana. With these constraints, the binding in various languages are explained through constraint ranking. In addition, the long-distance binding in English is dealt with properly of we assume the dichotomy and constraint-ranking in Optimality Theory. Furthermore, this gives an explanation to reflexive and pronoun alternation in English. Also, I borrow from phonology the idea of Obligatory Contour Principle to explain the similar phenomenon in syntax. I compare English with Korean in dealing with the possessive reflexive with the recourse to The Emergence of the Unmarked Pronoun Bresnan 1997. Fnmally, the reconstruction phenomenon is accounted for with the same device.

We present distinct chemical and kinematic properties associated with the inner and outer halos of the Milky Way, as identified by metal-poor stars from the Sloan Digital Sky Survey. In particular, using carbon-enhance metal-poor (CEMP) giants, we first map out the fractions of CEMP-no stars (without strongly enhanced neutron-capture elements) and CEMP-s stars (with a large enhancement of s-process elements) in the inner- and outer-halo populations, separated by their spatial distribution of carbonicity ([C/Fe]). The CEMP-no and CEMP-s objects are classified by their different levels of absolute carbon abundances, A(C). We investigate characteristics of rotational velocity and orbital eccentricity for these sub-classes within the halo populations. Distinct kinematic features and fractions between CEMP-no and CEMP-s stars identified in each halo region will provide important clues on the origin of the dichotomy of the Galactic halo.

We establish the existence of $C^1$ stable invariant manifolds for differential equations $u^{\prime}=A(t)u+f(t,u,{\lambda})$ obtained from sufficiently small $C^1$ perturbations of a nonuniform exponential dichotomy. Since any linear equation with nonzero Lyapunov exponents has a nonuniform exponential dichotomy, this is a very general assumption. We also establish the $C^1$ dependence of the stable manifolds on the parameter ${\lambda}$. We emphasize that our results are optimal, in the sense that the invariant manifolds are as regular as the vector field. We use the fiber contraction principle to establish the smoothness of the invariant manifolds. In addition, we can also consider linear perturbations, and thus our results can be readily applied to the robustness problem of nonuniform exponential dichotomies.

The Pre-Raphaelite oeuvre abounds in the image of women, which indicates the impact of gender question on contemporary visual culture. The representation of women in their art tends to evince the entrenched myth of womanhood, marked by a stereotyped dichotomy in the apprehension of femininity. Yet there are a significant number of pictures which attest to the point that their iconography of womanhood cannot be fully elucidated by exploring the dichotomy alone. They falsify the dyadic model, defying the attempt to accommodate them in a clean-cut category. The curious blend of the mystical, the sensual, and the domestic that characterizes these images suggests that they are open to multiple interpretations. In sum, the Pre-Raphaelite representation of women both endorses and challenges the ideal of femininity, indicating that it was shaped by and shaped contemporary perceptions of women at a time when gender relations were shifting and the traditional institution of patriarchy revealed a sign of strain.

We make advances towards a structural characterisation of the signed graphs H for which the list switch H-colouring problem List-S-Hom(H) can be solved in polynomial time. We conjecture two different characterisations, the second refining the first, in the case that the graph H can be switched to a graph in which every negative edge is also positive. Using a recent proof of the first characterisations for reflexive signed graphs, by Bok et. al., we prove the second characterisation for reflexive signed graphs. We also provide several tools for reducing the problem to the bipartite case, and prove a full complexity dichotomy for a related problem.

최근 스마트 폰에 다양한 센서를 내장할 수 있게 되었고 스마트폰에 내장된 센서를 이용항 동작 인지에 관한 연구가 활발히 진행되고 있다. 스마트폰을 이용한 동작 인지는 노인 복지 지원이나 운동량 측정. 생활 패턴 분석, 운동 패턴 분석 등 다양한 분야에 활용될 수 있다. 하지만 스마트 폰에 내장된 센서를 이용하여 동작 인지를 하는 방법은 사용되는 센서의 수에 따라 단일 센서를 이용한 동작인지와 다중 센서를 이용한 동작인지로 나눌 수 있다. 단일 센서를 이용하는 경우 대부분 가속도 센서를 이용하기 때문에 배터리 부담은 줄지만 다양한 동작을 인지할 때에 특징(feature) 추출의 어려움과 동작 인지 정확도가 낮다는 문제점이 있다. 그리고 다중 센서를 이용하는 경우 대부분 가속도 센서와 중력센서를 사용하고 필요에 따라 다른 센서를 추가하여 동작인지를 수행하며 다양한 동작을 보다 높은 정확도로 인지할 수 있지만 다수의 센서를 사용하기 때문에 배터리 부담이 증가한다는 문제점이 있다. 따라서 본 논문에서는 이러한 문제를 해결하기 위해 스마트 폰에 내장된 가속도 센서를 이용하여 다양한 동작을 높은 정확도로 인지하는 방법을 제안한다. 서로 다른 10가지의 동작을 높을 정확도로 인지하기 위해 원시 데이터로부터 17가지 특징을 추출하고 각 동작을 분류하기 위해 Ensemble of Nested Dichotomies 분류기를 사용하였다. Ensemble of Nested Dichotomies 분류기는 다중 클래스 문제를 다수의 이진 분류 문제로 변형하여 다중 클래스 문제를 해결하는 방법으로 서로 다른 Nested Dichotomy 분류기의 분류 결과를 통해 다중 클래스 문제를 해결하는 기법이다. Nested Dichotomy 분류기 학습에는 Random Forest 분류기를 사용하였다. 성능 평가를 위해 Decision Tree, k-Nearest Neighbors, Support Vector Machine과 비교 실험을 한 결과 Ensemble of Nested Dichotomies 분류기를 사용하여 동작 인지를 수행하는 것이 가장 높은 정확도를 보였다.

본 연구는 학문적 연구 대상에서 소외돼온 텔레비전 드라마 작가에 관한 본격적 연구로, 한국 텔레비전 드라마 역사를 써 온 김수현 작가의 최근작 멜로드라마 <내 남자의 여자>를 연구 대상으로 삼아 김수현 작가의 차별성과 경향성을 분석하고 있다. 김수현 작가는 연구 대상 작품을 통해, 불륜이라는 선정적 소재를 '심리 추적과 이분법 파기'라는 장르 문법을 구사함으로써 사랑에 관한 '자기 성찰'의 메시지를 전달하는데 성공한다. 이는 한국 텔레비전 멜로드라마에 제기돼 온 상투성과 이분법, 비현실성, 감정 과잉의 텍스트 문제점을 극복하는 결과이다. 또한 김수현 작가는 서사와 인물화를 통해 기존의 가부장 중심 성 이데올로기를 전복하는 진보적 경향성을 보이는 것으로 분석됐다. 본 연구는 김수현 작가의 이 같은 장르 문법 차별성이 한국 텔레비전 멜로드라마에 끼칠 수 있는 영향에 관한 후속 연구를 제안한다. 또한 멜로드라마에서 보여준 진보적 경향성이 김수현 작가의 다른 장르 작품에도 투영되는지에 관한 후속 연구를 제안함으로써, 지속적인 드라마 작가 연구의 필요성을 강조하고 있다.

이 글의 목적은 듀이의 자연주의적 가치론을 가치가 경험으로부터 발생하는 방식을 중심으로 검토하고 그 현재성을 제안하는 데 있다. 분석철학에서 가치의 문제는 논리실증주의자들이 사실과 가치의 이분법이라는 문제를 발생시키고 가치에 관한 지적인 논의의 가능성을 부인한 것에서 비롯된다. 이 상황에서 가치에 관한 논의가 해결해야 할 과제는 사실/가치의 이분법을 넘어서고 가치주장에 객관성의 위상을 부여하는 것이다. 듀이는 과학과 가치의 분리를 극복하기 위해 가치의 문제에 과학적 방법을 적용하고 '평가하기'와 '가치평가'라는 개념을 통해 가치가 완성된다고 해명한다. 이 과정에서 가치명제는 물리적 명제로 구성되고 가치는 상상적 추론과 반성적 숙고를 거쳐 발생한다. 최근 듀이 가치론의 중요성은 퍼트남과 존슨에 의해 재조명되고 있다. 퍼트남은 이분법을 극복하기 위해 듀이의 가치론을 수용하여 가치가 과학적인 탐구를 통한 비판에서 발생하므로 사실과 가치가 얽혀 있다고 주장한다. 또한 존슨은 듀이의 가치평가가 도덕적 숙고이며 그것을 인지과학적 탐구에 의해 입증함으로써 공유된 경험에 근거한 가치론은 상대주의가 아니라는 것을 보여 준다. 따라서 듀이의 가치론은 절대적인 가치가 우리에게 주어질 수 없다면 열린 탐구를 통해 가치를 만들어가는 절차를 제공한다는 점에서 가치의 본성을 탐구하는 제3의 방식을 제안한다.

Plato's philosophical importance in western thinking history cannot be understated. Especially his dichotomy system became common to the European traditions of philosophical and scientific discourses by assigning principal value to the presence that is opposed to the absence. Since the ancient Greeks, the concept of presence has been expressed itself in number of ways such as God, Truth, Logos, and center. Derrida called this European thinking "the metaphysics of presence." In order to analyze logocentrism also called the metaphysics of presence in No Telephone to Heaven, I used the term, paralogy that Aristotle did not accept as rules of argumentation but that Lyotard revived it positively as the principle of reason. Lyotard's incredulity towards rationalist theory of modernism is that knowledge can never be certain. Without any ultimate validity, certainty is impossible. Nevertheless, as Fanon said, the colonial world is dominated with a traditional Manichaean world. As a result what remains to the colonized to establish their identities is that of an armed struggle towards the colonizer even though they know it results in the vicious circle of hatred endlessly. Cliff attempted to show this message in her text through the tragic heroine, Clare Savage. Cliff's another critique of modernism's rationalism is shown through the ambiguous sexuality of Harry/Harriot. In this novel, gender plays also a central role by questioning the traditional binary system of sexuality. In this paper, I deconstructed this traditional gender system in terms of Bulter's concept of performitivity. This study will give the text another layer of deconstructive interpretation echoing with the proverb, one tree cannot make a forest.
