The purpose of this study was to analyze the participant's perception of importance and performance of rural tourism network products that are linked with local resources, and propose the implications on the development direction of such products. The focus is on helping rural tourism network products acquire competencies that will help them evolve their business and differentiate themselves. To reach these objectives, a survey was designed through theoretical research on the motive of rural tourism and on agritourism networks. The survey was carried out on visitors to rural communities that produce rural tourism network products from November, 2015, to January, 2016 using 165 copies of a questionnaire after distributing 175 copies. The first quadrant continue and sustain', an area of high importance and high performance, included trial program components, stress reduction, getting away from daily routines, gaining new experiences, comfort, experiencing rural culture, travel expenses, and making memories with family. The second quadrant 'requires intensive improvement', an area of high importance but low performance, included having diverse trial programs, refreshment, experiencing agriculture, and education of children. Therefore, continuous interest is required for the area of 'maintenance' just as it is for activating educational farms in rural communities and a more fundamental improvement in the operation should be made for the area of 'intensive management'.

The study explores the way how sharing economy services of accommodation and car rental, one of social issues actively discussed today are settled in the process of sharing economy building in local destinations. The result shows that average consumers expressed their favorable attitude toward the sharing economy services. However, the consumer's attitude didn't directly affect the consumer's positive perception that there is need for local sharing economy service network and the educational system for local residents and the network helps the economy. Instead consumer's knowledge of sharing economy services and their eagerness to learn the knowledge as parameters related the consumer's attitude to their perceptions; the consumer's attitude affected indirectly their perceptions. The study shows that local communities and their residents' efforts are not enough simply to activate the sharing economy services in the development process of tourist resources, while it asks consumers to learn information and knowledge of the sharing economy. Therefore, consumers and residents should interact and communicate closely with each other to help the development of local destinations and tourist resources based on sharing economy.

Recently, attention has been drawn to the issue of local community revitalization. In the U.S., CDC(Community Development Corporation) has become a main vehicle for revitalizing dilapidated inner-city communities. Using the case of Philadelphia in the U.S., this paper investigates the way in which local community revitalization or downtown revitalization can be successfully achieved through the formation of social capital and public-private partnership. Futhermore, exploring the cases of West Philadelphia CDC and University City, this paper seeks to provide insight into the dynamics of successful community development. In order to examine the dynamics, this paper focuses on local governance in terms of both the reciprocal partnerships and the close networking among participating agents. The implications of the case studies of this research for the Korean context would be that the bottom-up approach starting from the local-scale community revitalization and local governance is very crucial and indispensable for the sustainable regional or national development.

In this study, the fact that the influx of multi-cultural society impact on local communities are examined to analysis the negative impact and positive impact with four types of political (government), economic, social and cultural saw classified. Although some have a negative evaluation, most of the respondents said the influx of multi-cultural society had a positive impact on South Korea's development and believes a positive impact in the future. In the results of the analysis, areas where multicultural society gives the most positive impact of local communities in political (administrative), economic, social, of the four segments of culture has been rated as the field of culture, on the other hand, areas that have the most negative impact has been evaluated as social sector. Though we live in nationalism culture for a long time and heterogeneous foreign residents has so rapidly increased that conflicts due to collision of values of differences and culture of each other have occurred, foreign residents are generally, have a positive impact on our society. Substantially marriage immigrants who successfully solve the rural bachelor of marriage problem are willing to prevent population decline phenomenon and reduce the crime rate in the society, of course. In addition, foreign workers who employed at low wages in the 3D industry which is avoided by the South Korean people have contributed to our country's economic development.

As policy for regional development in bottom-up style is introduced, each local government reflects opinion of regional residents and experts, and continues to strive for active use of regional capability and natural resources. As a result, there are active movements for regional development in Eup and Myeon unit or village unit inside local government. Comprehensive arrangement project in areas of Eup and Myeon is proceeded with a goal of improvement of life quality for regional residents through strengthening base function of Eup and Myeon areas and improving function of basic service by expanding facility of optimal level available to an unspecified number of the general public such as educational, cultural, welfare facility etc. in Eup and Myeon areas which are base space of rural communities. For analysis method of region for selecting areas where comprehensive arrangement project is done, this study suggested analysis of connection structure based on interaction and analysis of centrality. And empirical analysis was carried out with Buyeo province in Chungcheongnamdo.

This article presents program development and analysis of a creative robot school for elementary school at the local university. The purpose of opening the creative robot school is to give motivation to children for having interests in science and engineering at their young ages. The creative robot school program is developed by using facilities of a local university to spread scientific knowledge to young children in their communities to draw their interests in science as well as an engineering field for future careers. Since the robot system is a popular subject to draw attention of children and has a relation with Mechatronics Engineering, a program related with robots is selected for educating children. College students are also involved in helping children to build robots within a given time. Experiences and self-evaluations from the previously held creative robot schools at Chungnam National University(CNU) are presented to share with.

Agro-fishing villages of agriculture and fishery are suffering deepening gap with urban areas due to depreciation from their products market opening pressure. They are facing problems of decreasing and aging population, poor settlement environment, etc. and losing their vitality for their low productivity and lack of young labor force. These issues of agro-fishing villages of agriculture and fishery are divided in so various items and classes that it is plausible to approach in a way to connect each issue in a small frame of each by selecting sub topics according to each item and each class rather than to solve the issues in a large frame. Chungchungnam-do is approaching the issues through 3 agro innovations(agro fishery, agro fishing villages, agro fishing people) in local government level and Durae enterprises are solving local problems through the self supporting residents' community business by utilizing local resources. This study is to draw clues and solutions to vitalize agro fishery villages through community businesses by detailed reviews and research on cases of Durae enterprises' characteristics and their vitalizations and provide a new alternative plan to agro fishery villages losing their vitality and demolishing their communities.

Community-based housing is widely recognized as one unique mode of affordable housing provision discussed in the agenda of urban housing policy in the midst of global economy. While economic development of rural communities are severely blocked by many factors, the local housing needs at grass roots level are addressed in the response to the growing number of the elderly and shortage of adequate housing to accommodate the group, and the availability of affordable housing is primarily seen as a viable option to the sustainability of rural community. This research study is to examine the case study of community-based housing development in rural areas, and to explore the drives and hurdles that influence the success of each development. The on-site visits and in-depth interviews with community leaders were employed to meet the research goals. The findings show that the driving factors making the successful housing development include the firm commitment to the importance of affordable and adequate housing, strong leadership of community leaders, public support, well-advised dispersion of public resources and strong bond between the public sector and local people. In spite of all the contributing factors, the unfamiliarity of collective ownership is the leading hurdle to proceed the development in a timely manner.

This study reinterpreted the value of traditional communities in rural areas and explored ways to revitalize sustainable communities. To do this, we surveyed the members' perceptions about the activities of the community organization as assessed through a questionnaire. The questionnaire items focused on the participation, satisfaction and contribution of the members of the community organization, with additional questions investigating the idea of the community vitalizations plan. A self-report questionnaire survey was administered to 321 members of the community, and the results were analyzed through technical data, t-test and ANOVA analysis by using the SPSS program. In the results, the perceptions of the members of the traditional village community differed significantly according to socio - demographic factors and member recognition characteristics. Especially, males were more voluntarily and positively compared to females, and the lower the age of satisfaction, the lower was the perceived individual satisfaction with community activities. In the case of perceived contributions to individuals and the community, the participants perceived positively in the emotional support for the individual's participation in the organization. On the other hand, the results confirmed that the contribution to the local community is important in realistic aspects such as regional vitalizations. It is confirmed by the decrease in the number of members in response to the difficulty of the organization. (Ed- 'the lack of the size of the membership' simply repeats 'the decrease in the number of members'; thus it's unnecessary).

Recently, Community Rebuilding Projects (hereinafter CRPs) in Korea have been driven and motivated by community inhabitants by themselves, and highlighted as an alternative approach to overcome the limitation revealed normally in top-down projects of community vitalization by the Government. The CRPs encourage community-lead development because it happens to integrate multiple stakeholders and to help inhabitants to participate in the process of the CRPs by accumulating and enlarging social capital and network among inhabitants, and the social gain consequently raises the efficiency of public investment in revitalizing communities. In this study, the series of Causal Loop Diagrams (CLDs) is to be elaborated and the System-Thinking (ST) approach is to be presented to understand the dynamic characteristics residing in the above development process of rebuilding communities. The ST approach refers to the CLDs analyzing 19 remarkable Korean CRP cases, and leads to a conclusion including some of policy instruments to support the bottom-up CRPs in Korea. This study contributes a theoretical framework to understand the dynamic relation between social capital and community revitalization as well as empirical suggestions to respond to the issues of the CRPs in Korean local governments.
