Development of Meander-shaped Metallic Magnetic Calorimeters

  • We are developing meander-shaped metallic magnetic calorimeters using micro-fabrication methods. A planar Nb coil in a meander shape was fabricated on a Si substrate. The coil was designed to have a persistent current using a metal heater evaporated on a part of the coil. A paramagnetic sensor, $5{\mu}m$ thick Au:Er foil, was glued on top of the meander structure with epoxy. The magnetization and heat capacity were measured at different temperatures, and applied field currents matched well with expected values. The detector showed an energy resolution of 4 keV FWHM for the 5.5 MeV alpha particles.

Trend Analysis and Revision of the University Library Standard in Korea (대학도서관기준의 동향분석과 개정안 연구)

  • The ultimate mission of the university library is to provide the various information services in support of the teaching, research, and public service missions of the university. The achievement of the mission requires the optimal development and timely revision of university library standard that can be used as an operating guidelines and assessment tools. On the basis of this justification, this study has compared the trend and feature of library standards in major countries(USA, Canada, UK, Japan, Taiwan), analysed the problems and limitations of legal and recommended standards in Korea, and suggested the revised plan of Korean university library standard focusing on collections, staffs, and facilities.

  • As the Korea construction market has recent3y opened, the needs to restructure the design standard for the technical advancement in design is increasing. Therefore, we proposed the design standard of railway according to the direction, which is presented in this study that analyze the present situation of the previous design standard. The new design standard of railway was tried to definite a limit in each service stage. This design standard will improve the design quality and induce the accumulation of technology. In addition, it will solve the organic contradiction of construction service. As a result, this research will bring the improvement in the design standard and contribute to the development of Korea construction industry.

  • A dissipation factor standard of decade type having the range of 1 to 0.0001 at the frequency of 1 kHz and 10 kHz was fabricated using "T" networks combined R and C components. The values of the fabricated dissipation factor standard were adjusted within 1% of the nominal values at 0.0001 dial range and 0.05% at the others. This dissipation factor standard is used as a working standard for calibration of a impedance measurement meter at KRISS and as a primary standard of dissipation factor field at NML-SIRIM in Malaysia.

  • Purpose: The purpose of this study is to identify key performance evaluation items and factors that are effective and practical for project management of defense standard standard improvement projects, and to develop a quantitative performance evaluation model. Methods: For the development of a performance evaluation model for defense standard improvement projects, we analyzed past major project performance and derived evaluation items and factors. To increase the objectivity and efficiency of project evaluation, we developed an evaluation index that enables relative evaluation of evaluation targets, and calculated the main importance of evaluation items using the Analytic Hierarchy Process (AHP) method based on the main opinions of expert groups. Results: The study resulted in the identification of main performance items for defense standard improvement projects, which were classified into defense standard conformity review performance and defense standard improvement performance items. We also simplified the evaluation model by integrating various evaluation items into similar evaluation factors. Additionally, we developed a quantitative evaluation index that enables relative evaluation of the targets and verified the objectivity and validity of the suggested performance evaluation model by reevaluating it using performance data from past commissioned professional institutions Conclusion: Developing a quantitative evaluation model for defense standard improvement projects is expected to provide a means of measuring the effectiveness of the project, and to be used as a tool to determine the appropriateness and effectiveness of medium and long-term project plans.

  • By means of analyzing of monitoring technology and monitoring regulation based on maintenance monitoring system installed in subway tunnel section, it needs monitoring system, development of operating program, monitoring analyzing system and development of analysis method, establishment of maintenance monitoring standard specification, and performance of responsible monitoring supervision for applying to subway monitoring maintenance effectively in future. It requires specialized monitoring and legislation of monitoring subcontract, improvement of monitoring work contract method, establishment the standard payment of monitoring, and effective calibration and correction of monitoring system in the plan of improving monitoring regulation.

  • PCS(Process Computer System) is installed to monitor various kinds of process parameters in Power Plant and networked for synthetic monitor and event analysis in all site. But when an event is occured sequentially or simultaneously among the plants, it is difficult to analyze it because of different Stardard-Time in each plant.   • These days international trade has been converting to e-Trade formation. At this point, Korea has been striving for the trade facilitation; reducing logistics cost and improving foreign competitiveness by computerization operations of the maritime transportation that logistics and customs clearance are involved. However, due to the substantial characteristic of logistics service, the necessity of flexible and various logistics service development using internet has been strongly suggested. In particular, the logistics service which could share documents related to international physical movement between shippers and logistics organization. In this regard, this study carried out interview to explore the problems of physical distribution service and to suggest development direction of e-logistics service. The reason why this survey carried out is that most of users want more effective e-logistic service that could diminish successively real expense decrease. After analysis of survey results, this paper presents the basic development direction and emphasis development subjects. Therefore, the basic direction is presented from four viewpoints; customer-oriented approach, service-oriented approach, total approach and step-by-step implementation. Furthermore six development subjects; web-based standard module development for small and medium forwarders, development of standard logistics ERP system, collaboration model between KTNET and KLNET, system improvement for real users, on-demand system building for SMEs and connection with legacy system have been required.

  • The purpose of this study provides the theoretical model for protecting the economic and social loss from the current alternative fuel vehicle which is developed without compatibility and senseless one's own through verifying the statistical significant by method of measuring analysis. The market scale of alternative fuel vehicle depends on customer's and station's expectation about the number of potential vehicle users. It is very difficult for vehicle manufacturer to make a decision on the standard alternative fuel vehicle as it might reduce profit and market share. Accordingly, the development of alternative fuel vehicle should have manufacturer confident on the potential profit in the future. Moreover, if we decide to use the non-standard fuel after we started to use the standard fuel, it would take a huge cost comparing with starting to use the standard fuel only. As a result, once one of companies starts to provide the non-standard fuel service, it is getting more difficult to use the standard fuel going forward. Consequently, we may review the possibility of choice on the standard fuel before the vehicle manufacturer starts service with non-standard fuel.
