MAP: Mutation Arranger for Defining Phenotype-Related Single-Nucleotide Variant

  • Next-generation sequencing (NGS) is widely used to identify the causative mutations underlying diverse human diseases, including cancers, which can be useful for discovering the diagnostic and therapeutic targets. Currently, a number of single-nucleotide variant (SNV)-calling algorithms are available; however, there is no tool for visualizing the recurrent and phenotype-specific mutations for general researchers. In this study, in order to support defining the recurrent mutations or phenotype-specific mutations from NGS data of a group of cancers with diverse phenotypes, we aimed to develop a user-friendly tool, named mutation arranger for defining phenotype-related SNV (MAP). MAP is a user-friendly program with multiple functions that supports the determination of recurrent or phenotype-specific mutations and provides graphic illustration images to the users. Its operation environment, the Microsoft Windows environment, enables more researchers who cannot operate Linux to define clinically meaningful mutations with NGS data from cancer cohorts.

낙동강 중류 유효유량 산정을 위한 Bin 결정 기법 연구 (Bin Determination for the calculation at effective flow (At middle Nakdong River))

  • 최근 각종 하천 개발 사업이 활발히 진행되면서 안정하도 평가가 활발히 이루어지고 있다. 안정하도 평가를 위해서는 흐름과 하천의 수리기하특성간의 관계를 연결시켜주는 기준유량이 필요한데 이러한 유량이 곧 유효유량이라 할 수 있다. 유효유량은 수년에 결쳐 연 유사량의 대부분을 이동시키는 유량의 평균값으로 정의되며, 적어도 일년에 한 번이나 두 번 또는 대부분의 경우 매년 여러번 발생하는 적당한 빈도의 유량규모에 의해 연 유사량의 대부분을 이동시키는 유량이다. 대표적인 유효유량 산정 프로그램인 Geo-tool은 유황곡선과 유사량 관계 곡선을 활용하여 유효유량을 계산한다. 프로그램에 입력하는 유량은 Bin 수와 지정하는 규칙에 따라 유량구간이 나뉜 후 각 구간별 평균유량에 대한 유사량을 산정한다. 이 때 산정된 구간별 유사량값과 이 구간의 유량이 발생한 일수를 산정함으로써 이 구간의 유량을 통해 발생한 연간 총유사량을 산정한다. 각 구간별 연간 총유사량으로부터 가장 많은 유사량을 이송시키는 구간에 해당되는 평균유량을 유효유량으로 선정하게 된다. 즉 유효유량은 유량범위 간격에 민감하게 반응하므로 Bin의 선정이 중요하다고 할 수 있다. 그러나 국내외에서 Bin 산정에 대한 명백한 기준이 없는 상황이므로 본 연구에서는 Arithmeic Bin과 Logarithmic Bin를 모두 사용하여 낙동강 중류 유효유량 산정에 가장 적합한 Bin의 수와 Bin 간격 산정 규칙을 제시하였다.

골관절염 대상자를 위한 자기관리 모바일 앱 개발 및 효과 (Development and Evaluation of a Self-management Mobile App for Adults with Osteoarthritis)

  • Purpose: This study aimed to develop a self-management mobile app for adults with osteoarthritis based on a self-determination theory to use it as a nursing intervention tool, and to evaluate the effects of the developed mobile app on adults' basic psychological needs, indexes of osteoarthritis, self-management and quality of life. Methods: The 56 participants were randomly assigned to either the experimental group (n=28) or the control group (n=28). The participants of the experimental group used a self-management mobile app for 12 weeks after the pretest, and two posttests were taken at the end of every 6 weeks. The data were analyzed using IBM SPSS/WIN 25.0 for Chi-square test, Fisher's exact test, independent t-test, and repeated measures ANOVA. Results: Basic psychological needs, indexes of osteoarthritis, self-management, and quality of life score of the experimental group were significantly higher than those of the control group. Conclusion: Our findings suggest that mobile app intervention can support improvements in psychological needs, symptoms of osteoarthritis and quality of life in adults with osteoarthritis. It is recommended that the developed mobile app be used as a nursing intervention tool for adults with osteoarthritis in the community.

종합병원 간호사의 소진 측정도구 개발 (Development of the Burnout Scale for General Hospital Nurses)

  • Purpose: The purpose of this study was to develop a measurement tool for burnout in general hospital nurses and verify its reliability and validity. Methods: Construct factors were extracted through an extensive literature review and in-depth interviews with nurses. Psychometric testing was conducted with 550 nurses in a general hospital. Data were analyzed using validity and reliability testing. Results: As a result of factor analysis, 4 factors and 26 items were selected. The burnout factors of general hospital nurses were professional quality of life, work environment excellence, job satisfaction, and negative emotions. The overall coefficient of determination was 46.38%. These factors were validated through convergent, discriminant and concurrent validity testing. The internal consistency reliability was acceptable (Cronbach's α=.91). Conclusions: The Burnout Scale for General Hospital Nurses is a valid and reliable tool that contributes to the assessment of burnout in general hospital nurses. This scale is expected to be used in burnout practice and research of general hospital nurses.

인공지능 기반 평가 도구를 이용한 한의사의 체질 진단 평가 및 활용 방안에 대한 연구 (Research on the Evaluation and Utilization of Constitutional Diagnosis by Korean Doctors using AI-based Evaluation Tool)

  • Since Traditional Korean medicine (TKM) doctors use various knowledge systems during treatment, diagnosis results may differ for each TKM doctor. However, it is difficult to explain all the reasons for the diagnosis because TKM doctors use both explicit and implicit knowledge. In this study, an upgraded random forest (RF)-based evaluation tool was proposed to extract clinical knowledge of TKM doctors. Also, it was confirmed to what extent the professor's clinical knowledge was delivered to the trainees by using the evaluation tool. The data used to construct the evaluation tool were targeted at 106 people who visited the Sasang Constitutional Department at Kyung Hee University Korean Medicine Hospital at Gangdong. For explicit knowledge extraction, four TKM doctors were asked to express the importance of symptoms as scores. In addition, for implicit knowledge extraction, importance score was confirmed in the RF model that learned the patient's symptoms and the TKM doctor's constitutional determination results. In order to confirm the delivery of clinical knowledge, the similarity of symptoms that professors and trainees consider important when discriminating constitution was calculated using the Jaccard coefficient. As a result of the study, our proposed tool was able to successfully evaluate the clinical knowledge of TKM doctors. Also, it was confirmed that the professor's clinical knowledge was delivered to the trainee. Our tool can be used in various fields such as providing feedback on treatment, education of training TKM doctors, and development of AI in TKM.

하수도서비스 평가지표 개발 및 적용에 관한 연구 (The Development and Application of the Performance Indicator for Sewage System Service in Korea)

  • With rapid expansion of the water market and growth of water companies, the recent trends in international water industry show that standardization of service activities concerning management of water and wastewater system (ISO/TC 224, to be issued in the second half year of 2007) is expected to have a large influence on the global water market including liberalization of water service market. In the Draft International Standard(DIS) of ISO/TC224, Performance Indicators(PIs) are suggested to estimate the service activities relating to water and wastewater treatment facilities. PIs have been developed in many countries including some international organization(World Bank, IWA and etc.) for service benchmarking. To evaluate public service level and establish plans to improve service level of wastewater utilities, we developed PIs for 120 items and applied them to 10 sewage utilities in the consideration of their scales, circumstances and conditions. In this study, we verified the applicability of the developed performance indicators(PIs). So, we concluded that PIs developed for the purpose of this study can be a useful tool applicable to objective evaluation of the service level of sewage utilities. Using the evaluation tool of PIs developed, it can also be used as a benchmarking tool in this industry as well as for enhancing the efficiency of operation and management of the sewage system. It will also contribute to the water resource management through determination of investment priorities based on the evaluation results and to raising international competitiveness of the domestic sewage utilities to meet the future opening of the water market.

자기결정성 요인이 스마트폰 몰입과 만족에 미치는 영향 (An Empirical Study Applying the Self-Determination Factors to Flow and Satisfaction of SmartPhone)

  • 스마트폰은 단순히 통신수단의 기기를 넘어 모바일 컨버전스(Mobile Convergence)시대의 전환기로 들어서고 있으며, 휴대기기에 카메라, 게임, 멀티미디어 기능이 부과되고, DMB(Digital Multimedia Broadcasting), 휴대 인터넷 등 새로운 개념의 서비스 도구로 인식되고 있으며, 스마트폰을 이용한 다양하고 새로운 비즈니스 모델 개발에 힘쓰고 있다. 본 연구는 자기결정성 이론에 대한 중요한 변수들의 내재적 동기인 몰입과 만족에 영향을 미치는 요인들에 대한 인과관계를 실증 연구하고자 한다. 지금까지의 스마트폰 연구들은 Flow에 미치는 영향변수에 대한 연구는 미비하였다. 본 연구에서는 내재적 동기에 영향을 주는 요인들을 연구한 자기결정성 이론을 바탕으로, 자기결정성의 요인인 자율성, 유능성, 관계성이 몰입과 만족에 미치는 인과관계를 연구하고자 한다. 위 연구모형을 실증적으로 검증하기 위해 스마트폰을 이용한 경험이 있는 서울 S기업의 직원들을 대상으로 설문조사를 실시하였다. 설문조사를 통해 670부의 표본을 수집하였으며, 요인들 간의 관계를 분석하기 위해 구조방정식모형 분석을 실시하였다. 연구결과, 첫째, 자율성이 몰입에 유의하게 영향을 미치는 것으로 나타났다. 둘째, 유능성은 몰입에 유의하게 영향을 미치는 것으로 나타났다. 셋째, 관계성은 몰입에 유의하게 영향을 미치는 것으로 나타났다. 추가적으로 몰입은 만족에 유의하게 영향을 미치는 것으로 나타났다.

자동차용 플렉스 플레이트 제조를 위한 핫프레스 포밍 열처리 조건 최적화 (Determination of Heat Treatment Condition for Hot Press Formed Automotive Flex Plate)

  • The flex plate, an automotive part which mounts to the automotive engine to transfer torque to transmission, should have considerable hardness and shape accuracy. As a way to produce the flex plate, the hot press forming technology which takes advantages of high formability at elevated temperature, enhanced strength and shape stability was introduced. Therefore, as one of major process parameters the heat treatment condition should be determined to obtain appropriate hardness in the range of manufacturer's specifications. In this study, two heat treatments, austempering and quenching and tempering (QT), were compared as feasible conditions fur the hot press forming of high-carbon tool steel and the hardness and toughness after heat treatments were evaluated. The study showed that both heat treatments resulted in improved hardness but only quenching and tempering showed practicable range of toughness.

  • For the application of fuel cell, the content and concentration of impurities in hydrogen stream must be classified. The purpose of this study is to provide analysis tool for the determination of impurities in hydrogen with ultra high purity. To produce UHT hydrogen, we purified hydrogen gas by both getter-based catridge and liquid-nitrogen soaked catridge. We compare two methods and propose new method to know about what is in hydrogen stream.

유한요소 모델 검증 및 개선 (Correlation and Update of Finite Element Model)

  • The finite element analysis (FEA) is widely used in modern structural dynamics because the performance of structure can be predicted in early stage. However, due to the difficulty in determination of various uncertain parameters, it is not easy to obtain a reliable finite element model. To overcome these difficulties, a updating program of FE model is developed by consisting of pretest, correlation and update. In correlation, it calculates modal assurance criteria, cross orthogonality, mixed orthogonality and coordinate modal assurance criteria. For the model updating, the continuum sensitivity analysis and design optimization tool(DOT) are used. The SENSUP program is developed for model updating giving physical parameter sensitivity. The developed program is applied to practical examples such as the BLDC spindle motor of HDD, and upper housing of induction motor. And the sensor placement for the square plate is compared using several methods.
