Recently linear accelerator of radiation therapy intensity modulated radiation therapy, stereotactic radiation therapy are widely used. Such radiation treatment techniques are generally difficult to exclude the small field by using the inverse treatment plan. It is necessary to dose an accurate measurement of characteristics of the small field. Thus, using different detectors to measure the volume of the effective percentage depth dose, beam profile, and the output factor of the small field was to evaluate the dose characteristics of each detector. Experimental results for the X-ray beam 6 MV energy beam quality($PDD_{20}/PDD_{10}$) is $10{\times}10cm^2$ Diode detector is as high as 2.4% compared to Pinpoint detector. All field size to lesser effective volume of Diode detector shows that it is far better than other detectors by more than 50% of small penumbra, therefore spatial resolution far excellent. In field size $2{\times}2cm^2$ Semiflex detector was measured about 2% less than the other detector. Field size $1{\times}1cm^2$ is that there is no judgment about the validity show the difference between 20%. Field size $1{\times}1cm^2$ from the measured values of the Diode detector and Pinpoint detector showed a 13% difference. Less than field size $3{\times}3cm^2$ the feed to the difference between the output factor of the effective volume of the detector to be used for the effective volume available to the detector.
The high predictive performance of fire detector models is essentially required for the reliable design of evacuation safety using the fire modeling. The main objective of the present study is to measure input information in order to predict the accurate activation time of photoelectric smoke detector adopted in fire dynamics simulator (FDS) recognized a representative fire model. To end this, the fire detector evaluator (FDE) which could be measured the device properties of detector was used, and the input information of Heskestad and Cleary's models was obtained for a spot-type photoelectric smoke detector. In addition, the activation times of smoke detector predicted using default values into FDS and measured values in the present study were quantitatively compared. As a result, the Heskestad model could result in an inaccurate the activation time of photoelectric smoke detector compared to the Cleary model. In addition, there was a distinct difference between the default values used into FDS and the measured values in terms of device properties of smoke detector, and thus the activation time also showed a significant difference.

Single exposure dual X-ray imaging can be used to separate soft and dense-material images for medical and industrial applications. This study keep focusing baggage inspection system(BIS) specifically. New detector modules for single exposure dual X-ray imaging are consisted of low energy detector (LED) and high energy detector (HED). First, the optimized thickness of copper filter coupled HED to separate low energy and high energy was simulated by the given X-ray energy (140 kVp, 1 mA) using Monte Carlo simulation codes, MCNPX. So as a result of simulation, the copper filter thickness is 0.7 mm. For the design of PIN photodiode, ATLAS device simulation tool was used. 16 channels PIN photodiode of 1.5 mm ${\times}$ 3.2 mm for Dual X-ray imaging detector was fabricated in the process of ETRI. And its dark current and quantum efficiency, terminal capacitance were measured. It was proven that the Lanex Fast B coupled HED were a sufficient candidate to replace the CsI(Tl) commerced in dual X-ray system, since these give a strong signal, overcoming system noise. Finally dual X-ray image was acquired through correction of the LED X-ray Image and the HED X-ray Image.

This paper presents the blind multiuser detector using the constant modulus algorithm(CMA) to solve the near-far problem in DS-CDMA systems. The convergence property of the detector is compared with the conventional MOE(minimum output energy) detector by means of SIR(signal-to-interference ratio). The MOE detector needs both the spreading code of the users and the timing information, while proposed methods needs only information about the spreading code of users Simulation results show that the CMA-based detector is superior to the conventional blind MOE multiuser detector. For this, the BER performance was tested using different values of SNR and near-far ratio. The SIR is also investigated for different number of users in AWGN and Rayleigh fading channels. We have observed that the proposed blind multiuser detector performs better than conventional MOE multiuser detector.

This study was intended to evaluate the feasibility of the vehicle detector using a coil sensor. For the evaluation, the research team built a test environment for the detector consisting of a oscillation circuit, data collecting circuit, data monitoring and saving circuit, etc. As the result of the frequency analysis of the detector from the test environment, it was verified for the detector using a coil sensor to generate stable frequencies. In addition, the ease of construction and management was tested by comparing the size of cutting areas, consumption of installation materials, and installation time for a traditional loop detector and the detector using a coil sensor. As a result, the installation of the detector using a coil sensor requires less size of cutting areas, consumption of installation materials, and installation time.

Background: A hand-held detector for an emergency response was developed for nuclide identification and to estimate the information of the ambient dose rate in the scene of an accident as well as the radioactivity of the contaminants. Materials and Methods: To achieve this, the most suitable sensor was first selected as a cadmium zinc telluride (CZT) semiconductor and the signal processing unit from a sensor and the signal discrimination and storage unit were successfully manufactured on a printed circuit board. Results and Discussion: The performance of the developed signal processing unit was then evaluated to have an energy resolution of about 14 keV at 662 keV. The system control unit was also designed to operate the CZT detector, monitor the detector, battery, and interface status, and check and transmit the measured results of the ambient dose rate and radioactivity. In addition, a collimator, which can control the inner radius, and the airborne dust sampler, which consists of an air filter and charcoal filter, were developed and mounted to the developed CZT detector for the quick and efficient response of a nuclear accident. Conclusion: The hand-held CZT detector was developed to make the in-situ gamma-ray spectrometry and its performance was checked to have a good energy resolution. In addition, the collimator and the airborne dust sampler were developed and mounted to the developed CZT detector for a quick and efficient response to a nuclear accident.
The first operation of alarm system starts at a detector. And the largest effect is produced on the operation of detector by the fire source position and installation position. Nevertheless, the Korean standard for the installation of detector only specifies matters of fire detector installation according to area and height, without consideration of installation position and fire source position. Therefore, this study carried out a fire test in consideration of detector installation position and fire source position (5 places) in order to minimize casualties owing to the fast operation of fire detector when a fire occurred. Considering that it took the longest time for a detector close to a wall to work in the results of this test, it was possible to find that a minimum clearance to the wall was required.
This paper is an analysis of the influence of ceiling air conditioner airflow on fire detector response. In order to analyze the response characteristics of fire detector while forming air flow of a ceiling-type air conditioner, fire tests were carried out in accordance with ISO standard. This experiment was carried out in a fire test site of 10 m (width) ${\times}$ 7 m (length) ${\times}$ 4 m (height). As a result of the experiment, the response of fire detector shows a normal pattern that is delayed as the distance from the fire source is increased in the absence of the air conditioner, but it is confirmed that the pattern is not maintained in the strong air flow. When the air flow of air conditioner was strong, the response time was increased by 121% in the smoke detector and by 39% in the heat detector. In the case of ceiling type air conditioners, it is considered that the number of fire detectors should be increased, or a detector with high sensitivity should be installed for early detection of fire.

Many research group started study to develope x-ray detector using thin film transistor from 1970. But realization of TFT based x-ray detector development was caused by progress of thin film transistor liquid crystal display(TFTLCD) device technology in 1990. The main current of TFT technology is display device. Research results expend TFT technology field from display device to sensor manufacture technology. These days many research group in the world realize various digital x-ray detector. In this study, We compare discharge erasing method to visible light erasing method in a-Se based digital x-ray detector. Visible light erasing method is known reset process in direct conversion x-ray detector. Digital x-ray detector using visible light erasing method is not adaptive for conventional x-ray device, because of its thickness. And it is not avaliable for real-time imaging for digital fluoroscopy, because of its long reset time. In this study we overcome these limitations and show new idea for real-time imaging method.

Man-In-Simulant Test(MIST) provides a test method to evaluate chemical protective equipments such as protective garments, gloves, footwear and gas mask. The MIST chamber is built to control concentration of chemical vapor that has a activity space for two persons. Non-toxic methyl-salicylate(MeS) is used to simulate chemical agent vapor. We carried out to measure inward leakage MeS vapors by using passive adsorbent dosimeter(PAD) which are placed on the skin at specific locations of the body while man is activity according to the standard procedure in MIST chamber. But more time is required for PADs and there is concern of contamination in PADs by recovering after experiment. Therefore detector for measuring in real time is necessary. In order to analyze in real time the contamination of the personal protective equipment inside the chemical environment, we have developed a wireless real-time gas detector. The detector consists of 8 gas-sensors and 1 control-board. The control-board includes a CPU for processing a signal, a power supply unit for biasing the sensor and Bluetooth-chipset for transmission of signals to external PC. All signals from gas-sensors are converted into digital signals simultaneously in the control-board. These digital signals are stored in external PC via Bluetooth wireless communication. The experiment is performed by using protective equipment worn on manikin. The detector is mounted inside protective equipment which is capable of providing a real-time monitoring inward leakage MeS vapor. Developed detector is demonstrated the feasibility as real-time detector for MIST.
