The purpose of this study was to compare dietary culture consciousness of rural and urban housewives through a nationwide survey. Interviewers interviewed 500 housewives(250 in rural and 250 in urban) using closed-ended questions. The dietary culture consciousness was divided into two parts of traditional aspect (dietary habit and ritual diet) and desirable aspect (food choice and nutrition knowledge). Each domain consisted of six items. Results of the study are summarized as fellows : 1) As a whole, dietary culture consciousness of rural housewives was more traditional than that of urban housewives in traditional aspect, and there was no difference of consciousness between rural and urban housewives in desirable aspect. 2) There was significant difference at 1% level between two groups in traditional aspect and there was no difference in desirable aspect. 3) By the analysis of each item, there was significant difference between two groups in 14 items. Especially, the item of westernized breakfast pattern was more acceptable in urban housewives than in rural. 4) In relationship between socio-demographic characteristics of housewives and dietary consciousness of them, age, educational level and religion of housewife were significant in traditional aspect, and so were educational level and job experience of housewives in desirable aspect. Dietary consciousness of rural housewives' was influenced by job experience (in traditional aspect) and age of housewives and level of living (in desirable aspect) In the case of urban housewives, level of living was significant in traditional aspect.

This paper describes firstly a prediction for desirable features of the machine tool in the year 2015 and beyond, and then delineates something definite in relation to some representative machine tools, which could be realised in very near future. The paper depicts furthermore another aspect of future machine tools, I. e., innovative structural designs. In addition, author asserts the importance of grass root-like knowledge, when predicting the desirable feature of machine tools future together with showing some evidences.

This study aims to find out the way of revitalizing of natural riverfront space in terms of ecological aspect. At the first part, theoretical made in terms of concept, planning aspects and techniques which were main bases for the study. It begins by explaining the concept of ecological riverfront space, the main aspect and techniques of its planning. After this, it analysis eight cases(four cases in Korea, Swiss, Germany, America and Japan) in terms of the objects, planning techniques and the results of development. It continues by making detailed analysis according to four objectives like 'protection from flood', 'quality of the river', 'ecological preservation' and 'active usage of riverfront space'. It ends by evaluating the relationship between objectives and the planning which will be adapted to the future development of riverfront space with ecological aspect. In conclusion, hereafter will propose desirable design-direction for revitalization about riverfront space about ecological aspect design in urban.

This paper is to investigate the combustion characteristics with a three dimensional chemical reacting flow on the aspect ratio of an exit configuration of the slit type nozzle for the fuel injection and to device the methods of combustion／mixing enhancement. The results show that both inside inflow and slit side vertices should be considered from a viewpoint of the mixing. The combustion efficiency becomes the smallest at aspect ratio, where the aspect ratio is less and more than unity, respectively. The total pressure loss becomes the largest at aspect ratio of unity due to the high penetration. All results imply that a streamwise very long slit is desirable with respect to the combustion and the pressure loss.

The purpose of this study was to examine the need of the ideal human being and to establish ideal desirable state of affairs in the ideal portrait of a human being for pursuing in the home economics education. This study analyzed the deducted issue from the discussion about the human being in the educational research through the national curriculum and literature review. The desirable state of affairs established in this research are (1) it needs to reflect the feasibility aspect for actual implementation, (2) it needs to consider the contextual subject aspect, and (3) the curriculum view containing the philosophy of the subject, that is, critical science perspective shall be reflected on the desirable human being. The ideal portrait of a human being was stated, in the individual family, society nation, cultur e world according to subcategories. In addition, the stated ideal portrait of a human being was modified through expert consultations. The proposal was reexamined for the validity of the statement and restated as a comprehensive statement of an ideal portrait of a human being that included a restatement of the three areas. An ideal portrait of a human being pursuing in home economics education from a core value of curriculum stated as 'a person who has solved the practical problem actively'.
