부가층의 두께 차이를 이용한 표면플라즈몬공명 멀티센싱 (Surface Plasmon Resonance Multisensing Using Thickness Difference of Additional Layer)

  • A novel surface plasmon resonance(SPR) multisensing method, which does not require imaging apparatus such as CCD, has been proposed and implemented experimentally. The proposed method is based on the multichannel SPR and the separation of signals by use of additional layers whose thickness is controlled. SPR signals are influenced by the thickness of sensing layer as well as the optical condition of sensing surface. As the SPR signals from different ligands are usually positioned closely, the reflected light from sensing surface does not provide us with the clear differences of resonance signal depending on the kinds of ligands. It was found from our experiments that SPR signals from each ligand that is located on the additional layer with different thickness can be separated clearly enough to identify various signals from different ligands. Proposed method with theoretical design and simulation has been verified experimentally by using $SiO_2$ thin film layer as additional layer.

열교환기 핀에서의 서리층 물성치에 대한 실험 상관식 (Empirical Correlations of Frost Properties on the Fin of a Heat Exchanger)

  • In this study, fin surface temperature and frost properties, i.e., frost thickness and frost surface temperature on a heat exchanger, were experimentally analyzed with different fin thicknesses, fin sizes and thermal conductivities of fin. As a result, it is found that fin thickness and thermal conductivity of fin should be considered in order to design an efficient heat exchanger fin. Correlations of dimensionless average frost properties were proposed as functions of dimensionless air temperature, dimensionless fin base temperature, dimensionless fin thickness, absolute air humidity, Reynolds number and Fourier number. The correlations predicted well the average frost thickness with a maximum error of 10.5% and frost surface temperature with a maximum difference of $0.89^{\circ}C$, respectively.

  • A reversed trapezoidal fin with variable fin base thickness is optimized using a two-dimensional analytical method. For the fin base boundary condition, instead of a constant temperature, heat transfer from the inside fluid to the fin base is considered. Heat loss from the fin tip is not ignored. The maximum heat loss, corresponding optimum fin effectiveness, fin length and base height are presented as a function of the fin base thickness, shape factor and volume.

경량 재료의 T형 접합이음의 피로강도 평가 (Fatigue Strength Evaluation of T-Peel Adhesive Joing for Light Weight Material)

  • The evaluation of joint fatigue strength of light weight materials for an electrical vehicle body has been performed through T-peel joint tests with the design parameters such as joint style, adherend type, adherend thickness, adhesive thickness, and various adhesives. Fatigue strength was evaluated through 5-Hz, tension-tension, load controlled test with the zero stress ratio. It was observed that the fatigue strength of the joint increases with the increase of the adherend thickness. With the increase of the adhesive thickness, however, the fatigue strength of the joint increases insignificantly. An aluminum-FRP adherend combination shows much higher fatigue strength than an aluminum-aluminum adherend combination. The results of fatigue tests were found to be consistent with those of static tests.

  • Many researches about the contacts between cam and follower have investigated EHL film thickness either without dynamic loading effect or only with curve fitting formula such as Dowson-Hamrock's, because including squeeze film effect makes it hard to obtain convergence and stability of computation. Therefore, inaccurate information about minimum film thickness without dynamic loading condition causes inappropriate design of cam profiles and wrong selection of cam and follower materials. In this work, computation tools both for kinematics and dynamics of valve train system of push-rod type and for fluid film thickness with elastic deformation on the basis of dynamic loading condition with multigrid multi-level method is developed. The computational results of minimum film thickness with the respects of both static and dynamic loading conditions are compared for the contact of flat follower over the entire cycle.

Influence of Blade Outlet Angle and Blade Thickness on Performance and Internal Flow Conditions of Mini Centrifugal Pump

  • Mini centrifugal pumps having a diameter smaller than 100mm are employed in many fields; automobile radiator pump, ventricular assist pump, cooling pump for electric devices and so on. Further, the needs for mini centrifugal pumps would become larger with the increase of the application of it for electrical machines. It is desirable that the mini centrifugal pump design be as simple as possible as precise manufacturing is required. But the design method for the mini centrifugal pump is not established because the internal flow condition for these small-sized fluid machines is not clarified and conventional theory is not suitable for small-sized pumps. Therefore, we started research on the mini centrifugal pump for the purpose of development of high performance mini centrifugal pumps with simple structure. Three types of rotors with different outlet angles are prepared for an experiment. The performance tests are conducted with these rotors in order to investigate the effect of the outlet angle on performance and internal flow condition of mini centrifugal pumps. In addition to that, the blade thickness is changed because blockage effect in the mini centrifugal pump becomes relatively larger than that of conventional pumps. On the other hand, a three dimensional steady numerical flow analysis is conducted with the commercial code (ANSYS-Fluent) to investigate the internal flow condition. It is clarified from the experimental results that head of the mini centrifugal pump increases according to the increase of the blade outlet angle and the decrease of the blade thickness. In the present paper, the performance of the mini centrifugal pump is shown and the internal flow condition is clarified with the results of the experiment and the numerical flow analysis. Furthermore, the effects of the blade outlet angle and the blade thickness on the performance are investigated and the internal flow of each type of rotor is clarified by the numerical analysis results.

크랭크축 경사도를 고려한 엔진 베어링의 유막거동에 관한 연구 (On the Oil Film Behaviors of Engine Bearing Considering Crankshaft Misalignment)

  • 본 논문은 엔진 베어링에서 크랭크샤프트의 경사도를 고려했을 때와 고려하지 않았을 때 유막 동적거동을 컴퓨터 시뮬레이션을 이용하여 해석하였다. 본 해석은 탄성유체윤활 이론을 바탕으로 하여 최소유막의 동적특성을 수치적으로 해석하였다. 유막설계에 매우 중요한 인자인 크랭크샤프트 경사도를 고려하기 위하여 크랭크샤프트와 엔진베어링을 탄성체로 모델링 하였다. 유막거동해석을 위한 경계조건으로는 엔진 베어링에서 발생하는 비선형 구속력과 굽힘 모멘트를 고려하였고 이에 따른 크랭크샤프트의 경사도 영향을 고려함으로써 좀 더 실제 현상과 유사한 모델링을 수행하였다. 해석결과 엔진 베어링의 성능에 가장 큰 영향을 미치는 최소유막두께가 크랭크샤프트의 경사도를 고려하지 않았을 때보다 고려하였을 때 16%에서 24%정도 감소하는 것을 알 수 있었다. 또한, 해석결과에서와 같이 크랭크샤프트 경사도 증가는 최소유막두께의 감소를 유발하고 이에 따른 베어링 파손을 예측할 수 있었다. 따라서 본 논문의 해석결과가 자동차 엔진 베어링 설계 시 매우 유용한 자료로 사용될 것으로 사료된다.

전복시 차체에 대한 구조 안전 해석 (Structural Safety Analysis on Car Body at Overturn)

  • 본 연구에서는 구조해석을 통하여 차체의 전복 시에 있어서의 차체의 두께에 따른 변형량과 응력 변화를 고찰하여 보았다. 차체의 두께가 5t인 자동차에서는 2초일 때에 차체의 오른쪽 천장에서 7.5024mm의 최대변형이 일어났으며, 차체의 왼쪽 밑 부분에서 113.69 MPa의 최대응력을 받았다. 차체의 두께가 10t인 자동차에서는 2초일 때에 차체의 오른쪽 천장에서 1.2557mm로 최대의 변형이 일어났으며 차체의 왼쪽 밑 부분에서 15.134 MPa의 최대응력이 발생했다. 차체의 두께가 15t인 자동차에서는 2초일 때에 0.42529mm로서 차체의 오른쪽 천장에서 최대의 변형이 일어났으며 응력은 2초일 때에 차체의 왼쪽 밑 부분에서 4.405MPa의 최대응력이 작용되었다. 두께가 15mm보다 커지는 경우에는 시간에 따른 응력 및 변형율의 분포가 고르게 나타나고 있어 설계의 안전성을 보이고 있다.

Cyclic response and design procedure of a weak-axis cover-plate moment connection

  • This paper systematically investigated the mechanical performance of the weak-axis cover-plate connection, including a beam end monotonic loading test and a column top cyclic loading test, and a series of parametric studies for exterior and interior joints under cyclic loading using a nonlinear finite element analysis program ABAQUS, focusing on the influences of the shape of top cover-plate, the length and thickness of the cover-plate, the thickness of the skin plate, and the steel material grade. Results showed that the strains at both edges of the beam flange were greater than the middle's, thus it is necessary to take some technical methods to ensure the construction quality of the beam flange groove weld. The plastic rotation of the exterior joint can satisfy the requirement of FEMA-267 (1995) of 0.03 rad, while only one side connection of interior joint satisfied ANSI/AISC 341-10 under the column top cyclic loading. Changing the shape or the thickness or the length of the cover-plate did not significantly affect the mechanical behaviors of frame joints no matter in exterior joints or interior joints. The length and thickness of the cover-plate recommended by FEMA 267 (1995) is also suitable to the weak-axis cover-plate joint. The minimum skin plate thickness and a design procedure for the weak-axis cover-plate connections were proposed finally.

탄소나노튜브 박막 제조를 위한 분무공정에서의 증착 두께 분포 예측 모델 개발 (Development of Numerical Model for Predicting Deposition Thickness Distribution during Spray Process for Carbon Nanotube Thin Films)

  • 탄소나노튜브(CNT)는 원통형의 탄소나노 구조물로서, 뛰어난 전도특성과 열전도율을 갖는다. 이러한 특성을 이용한 다양한 응용 분야의 하나로 CNT 를 박막형태의 그물망으로 제작하여 전도성 필름으로 응용하는 방안이 연구되고 있다. 이러한 CNT 의 박막 제조 방법 중, 분무 코팅 방식은 대면적 박막 제조에 널리 사용되나, 박막 두께를 균일하게 제작하는 점에 어려움이 있다. 이러한 문제점을 해결하려면 분무시의 공정조건이 증착 두께 분포에 미치는 효과를 잘 분석해야 한다. 본 연구에서는 분무 공정에서의 증착두께분포를 예측하기 위한 수치해석 모델을 개발하였다. 또한, 개발된 모델을 이용하여 여러가지 노즐 경로에 따른 증착 두께 분포를 분석하였다.
