A Study on Design of Girls' School Uniform Since 1996 (교복 브랜드화 시대의 여학생 교복 디자인에 관한 연구)

  • Fashion of one period is symbolic and figurative means of expression reflecting spirit, ideology, emotion and aesthetic values of that period. Designs of school uniforms fer girls also went through changes in various shapes along with changes in sociocultural and philosophical backgrounds in each period. Thus, in this study, in examining girls' school uniforms, how girls' school uniforms have evolved with what kind of design characteristics was observed along with process of historical changes, and investigation was made on realistic conditions of girls school uniforms since 1996 when active advancements in school uniform design were started. Also, through examination of girls' school uniform designs from homepage of large student uniform companies and catalogues, characteristics of girls' school uniforms after 1996 were observed. On the result, we could know that girl's school uniforms from 1996 to 2006 were designed in various forms compared to those of the past time and changing Arends of the era were reflected on the school uniform designs. Narrow waistline, shorter blouse, changes in the length of jacket and skirt showed that current school uniform designs pursue the fashionable and trendy designs unlike those of the past times that were uniform and strict. This study include organizing characteristics of girls' school uniform designs by each period, providing fundamental and realistic data for clothes manufacturing and marketing activities through analysis on designs of girls' school uniforms since 1996, and providing directions for future school uniform designs.

A study of School Uniform Design in the Mass Media (대중매체에 나타난 교복디자인 연구)

  • A school uniform has established it as youth culture and an important fashion cord which exposes adolescents themselves under the influence of TV and movies. Moreover as adolescents use TV and radio ads and Internet as a main source to purchase a school uniform, their effect on adolescents' school uniform fashion increasingly grows. The purpose of this study is to analyze design characteristics and chronological changes of school uniform design of high school girls and provide basic materials to develop school uniform design and predict adolescents' fashion trend. The scope and subjects of the study were limited to TV drama and movies which were shown from 1996 to 2010 and had high school students as their main characters based on youth culture. The analysis materials were photos of 50 school uniforms collected from TV soap opera, movies, web sites, DVDs, and Internet. First, the changes of a school uniform, the mass media and youth culture, and a school uniform in the mass media were reviewed through previous researches and literature review. Then, a form, color, and materials were classified to analyze the Dsign Characteristic. Finally, the changes were examined chronologically.

A Visual Evaluation of the Changes In the Design of Monokini Swimsuits (모노키니 수영복의 디자인 변화에 따른 시각적 평가)

  • The purpose of this study is to evaluate the differences of visual image on variations in the shoulder strap and length of the monokini swimsuit. Nine samples were examined: 3 variations of the shoulder strap and 3 variations of the swimsuit length. Data have been obtained from 90 fashion design majors and analyzed using Factor Analysis, Anova, Scheffe's Test and the MCA method. The results of the study are as follows: 1) The visual image, according to changes in the shoulder strap and length of monokini swimsuit, was composed of boldness factor, attention factor and attraction factor. Boldness was the most important factor in the monokini swimsuit. 2) The visual images according to changes in the shoulder strap of the monokini swimsuit are ranked in the order of one shoulder strap, strapless and two shoulder straps. They are shown to be untidy - a trendy image, showy -a characterful image and wanted to dress -an unnatural image. 3) As the swimsuit gets shorter, it has more untidy - trendy image. As the swimsuit gets longer, it looks more tidy and classic. 4) The number of shoulder straps and swimsuit length do not interact with each other in boldness factor, attention factor or attraction factor. However, the number of shoulder straps affects more than swimsuit length in the visual images of the monokini swimsuit.

  • With the advent of industrial society, the phenomenon of nuclear families has brought many changes in the family environment. Of changes, a decrease in the number of new-born babies led to one-child families, which then led to an increase in interest in children. Interest in children gave birth to a consumptive trend called "kids marketing," and phenomena of generous investment and consumption for children appear to continue to the future. In reality, too, the consumer market of children's apparel and learning materials for children has sharply increased over the past few years, and products related to children have become the center of family consumptions. Therefore, at this point when children are the center of consumptive life in the family and the relationship between products and users is becoming an increasingly more important variable, the conductive research focusing on children is necessary. These important factors embraced wide areas of activities in research on children, from children's physical changes, children's preference, such as color and material, to children's consumptive environment, as they can provide a foundation for furniture design suitable for children.

The Effect Analysis of Reducing Carbon Emission by Design Parameter Change and Material Properties (변수 변경 및 재료적 특성에 따른 철골 구조물의 탄소 배출량 절감 효과 분석)

  • The study used the whole-life carbon assessment method to conduct a thorough carbon-neutral evaluation of a standard steel structure. To further assess carbon emissions, 11 design-changed models were evaluated, with changes made to the span between beams and columns. The results of the carbon emission assessment showed savings of approximately 13.1% by implementing the stage of the beyond life cycle. Additionally, the evaluation of carbon emissions through design changes revealed a difference of up to 42.2%. These findings confirmed that recycling and structural design changes can significantly reduce carbon emissions by up to 48.6%, making it an effective means of achieving carbon neutrality. It is therefore necessary to apply the stage of beyond life cycle and structural change to reduce carbon emissions.

  • This paper examines how the design of female characters in Disney animations is evolving over time, and explores whether these changes are related to the social status of women in modern society. We analyze in detail how Disney's female character design has undergone changes in form, characteristics, and personality with the transition from 2D animation to 3D animation, and show that the change in perception of women in modern society is behind this change. It shows. It deals with changes in the design and personality of female characters, focusing on major Disney animation works before and after 2010. Starting with the movie <Rapunzel>, released in 2010, female characters showed stronger and more active characteristics and changed from traditional Disney princesses. Disney is bringing about this social change by breaking away from the image of an independent woman and showing the growth process of overcoming hardships based on one's abilities and the support of one's family, as well as the increasing number of female characters of various races and appearances. The conclusion was reached that it shows a conscious and active willingness to accept it.

  • Recently, much attention is paid on the office design be-cause the real world of work has undergone substantial changes, in both spatial and temporal aspects, due to the in-troduction of data processing technologies and new types of production. Today's renewed objectives of office are to define new physical space for work, to deal with economic and organizational changes. In the period of information, the purpose of an office is to improve the productivity for employers employees the comfort and vitality. Today's intellecture resources are necessary for the development in the modern business. The Hypid office, as an alternative in order to correspond the rapid changes, is proposed to give the space for satisfy-ing the basic desires of a human being-eating, resting and working. Accompanying with flexibility and comfortability, this office should include the space for personal purpose and the space for social purpose. Applying the concept of comfort like at home leads to re-lease a worker's stress from the society of information. The future office which is to enhance the quality of culture by in-tegrating indivisual, domestic and social life should commu-nicate efficiency, movement, energy, transformation.

  • The revolution of new media has overthrown the existing social structure and brought about the changes in the concepts of the space and subject. These changes are identical to the existential issue of the space and subject and to fundamental issue of spatial design. This study will interpret the new media in view of ontology and analyze the characteristics by applying it to spatial design. In this study, the characteristics of new media of ontological viewpoint were divided into six categories containing the process space, the space of exterior meaning, the space of the affairs, interactive subject, playful subject and extension of sense, which were the basis for this analysis. The results showed that the expression characteristics of spatial concept of ontology and subject concepts revealed in the areas of architectural surface, the space of art and installation, and architectural design process.

A Study on Fashion Design Applying the Principle of Considerate Design (배려디자인의 원리를 적용한 패션디자인 연구)

  • Considerate design enhances the familiarity, consideration and design accessibility of various customers. The aim of this study lies on analyzing the aesthetic characteristics and instrumental characteristics of fashion design and applying the considerate design principles. The fashion photograph collection that applies the considerate design principle, was collected from 2006 S/S to 2011 F/W through the following internet site: www. style. com. First, the considerate design key words used in the preceding studies and literatures were classified semantically into these words: "Supportiveness", "Variability", "Ease", "Protection". The result shows that considerate fashion design has used simple, comfortable and achromatic, squared silhouettes that are not affected by the changing trend, simple color coordination and hard materials to prolong the product and the plain pattern. By analyzing the instrumental characteristics of considerate fashion design according to the principles, designs of "Supportiveness" purposely used many changes and showed reversible ways the most. Designs of "Variability" used design changes in length, volume, detail, and other changing forms. Designs of "Ease" used easy-wear apparel, ties and pleats. Designs of "Protection" partially used coverings and different combinations.

  • Fashion industry is high value added indust교, whose price is decided by design value so it requires creativity and uniqueness for competition. The purpose of this study is to grasp how the design characteristic of LED that can express new creativity and uniqueness is applied to fashion design and find out the expression characteristic of LED used in fashion design. The study subjects, the design to which LED is applied, were extracted from fashion show and internet search. As a study result, the expression characteristics of LED used for fashion design are as follows. First, for function, tool function that can provide convenience for life and expression function that can provide user with emotional and psychological satisfaction and communication were allowed. Second, for aesthetic changes, many-sided, multiple colors and pattern displays of LED changed design meaning visually and caused aesthetic emotion for observer. Third, for interaction, physical factor of LED, user, dress and environmental factor interacted each other, enabling both-sided communication. Fourth, for amusement, multiple lights of LED activated visual and tactile sense, expressing usefulness and joyfulness on the basis of various display possibilities and changes. The study result will be helpful for developing more unique, creative design according to the change of age and development of science.
