The Effect of Employees' Perception of a Supervisor's Servant Leadership on Employees' Perceived Organization's Support: The Mediating Effect of Employees' Perceived Supervisor's Supports

  • Purpose - Leadership style is an important factor in determining the attitude and behavior of employees and their satisfaction with an organization. Contributing the efficiency of an organization, Especially, servant leadership focusing on meeting employees' hopes and desires positively affect success of the organization and performance of employees. In the airline service industry it is necessary to conduct studies for an internal marketing on servant leadership that emphasizes the trust in the dignity of humans and spirit of service to subordinates as a factor affecting the job satisfaction. Research design, data, and methodology -Therefore, in this research, it is empirically analyzed that employees' perception of a supervisor's support plays mediating role in the relationship between employees' perception of servant leadership and perception of an organization's support using multiple and hierarchal regression analysis targeting 243 employees working in D Airline. Result - As a result, Employees' employees' perceived supervisor's support mediates the relationship between employees' perceived servant leadership of a supervisor and employees' perceived organizational support. Conclusions - This study suggests that the servant leadership of a supervisor perceived by employees constitutes an important preceding variable in enhancing the employees' perception on organizational support.

The Effects of Job Characteristics on the Team Creativity of Distribution Companies: Moderating Effects of Transformational Leadership

  • The purpose of this study is to investigate the causal relationship between job characteristics and creativity. The role of transformational leadership is also examined. To identify the relationship between core team job characteristics and transformational leadership, an empirical survey was conducted through surveys of domestic distribution companies. Among the collected questionnaires, missing and insincere responses were excluded and 636 individuals of 107 teams were used for the SPSS 18 analysis. It was found that job meaningfulness was positively related to team creativity and transformational leadership also had a significant effect. Task feedback was shown to be an important factor on the motivation to perform tasks successfully. In the case of transformational leadership, this leadership style helped individuals overcome fear by providing support, sympathy, and consideration to create novel ideas. But, its effects were different on team creativity when it interacted with core job characteristics. Departments where creativity is highly emphasized within an organization are able to design job characteristics which fit the task at hand. Moreover, transformational leadership brings about different effects on team creativity when it interacts with job characteristics. The findings of this study suggest that organizations should consider characteristics of tasks and individuals as well when conducting education and training.

간호대학생의 셀프리더십과 학습인식 (A Study on Nursing Students' Self-leadership and Their Perception of Learning)

  • Purpose: The purpose of this study was to identify the relationship between self-leadership and the perception of learning in nursing students. Methods: A descriptive research design was used in this study. The participants were 378 nursing students in M city and C city who were surveyed between June 1 and June 30, 2014 using self-report questionnaires. The data was analyzed using SPSS WIN 21.0 Program, which determined frequency, percentage, mean, standard deviation; a One-way ANOVA; a $Scheff{\acute{e}}$ test; a Pearson correlation coefficient; and a Stepwise multiple regression analysis. Results: There were significant positive correlations between nursing students' self-leadership and their perception of learning. In the multiple regression analysis, self-leadership was the most significant predictor in explaining nursing students' perception of learning. Conclusion: Study findings suggest that nursing students' self-leadership is defined as having an important influence on nursing students' perception of learning. In order to strengthen nursing students' self-leadership, there is a need to develop education programs that increase nursing students' self-leadership.

시장 전문성과 유행 선도력의 심리적 영향 요인 비교 연구 (A Comparative Analysis of Psychological Factors for Predicting Market Mavenism and Fashion Leadership)

  • The purpose of this study is to examine and compare effects of psychological factors on market mavenism and fashion leadership in order to determine the differences of two influential groups in the marketplace. The data were collected from 20's-50's consumers through an online survey institute and a total of 857 questionnaires were analyzed. Demographic variables (gender, age, and income level) were entered into the regression model 1 as independent variables, and 6 factors of consumer self-confidence, clothing involvement, status consumption, and price consciousness were entered into the regression model 2. In the regression model 1, gender (female) alone was significant in explaining market mavenism, while the income level had a positive relationship with fashion leadership. In the regression model 2, information acquisition, social outcome, persuasion knowledge among consumer self-confidence, and status consumption were significant predictors of market mavenism. On the other hand, personal outcome, social outcome, persuasion knowledge, clothing involvement, and status consumption had an effect on the fashion leadership. When comparing magnitudes of effects in predicting market mavenism and fashion leadership, social outcome and status consumption showed to have stronger impacts on fashion leadership than on market mavenism. Psychological factors showed to be more powerful in predicting market mavenism or fashion leadership, as compared to demographic variables.

  • Purpose: This study investigated the influence of nurses' organizational communication and self-leadership on patient safety competence in comprehensive nursing care units of small and medium-sized hospitals. Methods: A descriptive design was used and self-reported questionnaires were used to collect data from 165 nurses in Seoul from February to March, 2020. Data were analyzed using descriptive statistics, t-test, ANOVA, Pearson correlation coefficient, and multiple linear regression with SPSS/WIN 22.0 program. Results: A mean score of organizational communication was 3.20±0.49, self-leadership 3.58±0.50, and patient safety competency 4.01±0.49 out of 5. A significant positive correlation was found between patient safety competence, organizational communication and self-leadership. Self-leadership and combined ward explained 32% of the variance of patient safety competence (Adjusted R2=.32, p<.001). Conclusion: Patient safety competence in comprehensive nursing care units are associated with self-leadership and organizational communication. Systemic education to improve patient safety competence in small and medium sized hospitals should be implemented to promote organizational communication as well as self-leadership.

Sports Leadership Theories for Improving Retail Service Quality on Customer Value

  • Purpose: The sports leadership theories are crucial in ensuring the success of corporations. This study shall discuss the various leadership theories employed in the sports industry and how they can be incorporated within the retailing sector to enhance the service quality and promote substantial customer value towards all the consumers visiting the retailing stores. Research design, data and methodology: The present researcher gathered textual data on potential solutions for coding of development through web searching method and coded and produced various topics as solution providers. Methods were then established to enhance quality on customer value by the leadership within their businesses, and the researcher subsequently presented the findings. Results: This study provides a total of nine solutions which are helpful systemically for practitioners in the retailer service sector. These numerous solutions can be incorporated within the retail industry through the sports leadership theories employed in the sports industry to help achieve a full and strong customer value. Conclusions: Finally, the present study concludes that the retail industry and management need to ensure that a substantial customer value is built through high-quality services rendered towards the clientele base, employing sports leadership theories such as path-goal, authentic leadership, transformation, situational and leader-member exchange theories.

  • This study examined the effect of safety leadership coaching program on managers' safety management and workers' safety behaviors in construction site. Three or four managers and about one hundred workers at each site participated in this study. Safety leadership coaching program consisted of safety leadership education, goal setting, self-monitoring and feedback on workers' safety behavior, reward for three safety management behaviors; (1) safety observations of workers safety behavior and (2) providing positive feedback on safe behavior (3) providing corrective feedback on risk behavior and daily safety education for workers. Dependent variables were the percentage of safe behaviors of workers and frequency of managers' safety management behaviors. A nonconcurrent AB multiple baseline design across settings was adopted. After baseline(A), safety leadership coaching program (B) was introduced to each site. The results showed that safety leadership coaching program was effective to increase managers' and workers' safety behaviors. These results suggest that safety leadership coaching program developed in this study would be an alternative treatment technique to improve construction safety management. In addition, the implications, limitations of this study, and future studies are discussed.

The Impact of Ethical Leadership on Employees' Innovative Behaviours

  • Purpose: This study aimed to examine how a superior employee's ethical leadership affects members' innovative behaviors, mainly on organization-based self-esteem. It also aimed to verify the mediating effect of organization-based self-esteem in the process that ethical leadership affects members' innovative behavior in distribution-related organizations. Research design, data and methodology: After collecting materials from companies' executives and staff members in distribution-related organizations located in Seoul, South Korea, a research hypothesis was analyzed. Results: A superior employee's ethical leadership affects a positive (+) effect on innovative behaviors of the organization's members and the study confirmed that the relation of this effect was mediated by organization-based self-esteem. It means that the possibility that an organization's members will do innovative behaviors will be increased if a leader conducts ethical leadership. It also means that a leader with ethical leadership enables an organization's members to pay attention all the time and be awake for their work environment. Conclusions: The result of this study discusses how ethical leadership affects innovative behaviors of an organization's members from the perspective of organization-based self-esteem and has a theoretical implication that it has empirically examined it. More importantly, it has a theoretical implication because it verified how this effect was made using organization-based selfesteem and flexible human resource management.

Enhancing Workplace Performance Across Banking Distribution Networks: The Role of Self-Leadership and Intrinsic Motivation in Mitigating Procrastination Behavior

  • Purpose: This research delves into the relationship between self-leadership and procrastination behavior in banking distribution networks. Based on the self-determination theory, the study explores how organizational commitment mediates the relationship between these variables. Moreover, the research considers the vital role that intrinsic motivation plays in enhancing and reinforcing these connections. Research design and methodology: Using data from 384 bank employees and partial least squares structural equation modeling, the research found evidence to support the theory. This methodological approach enabled the investigation to uncover the intricate links between self-leadership, procrastination behavior, organizational commitment, and intrinsic motivation. Results: The findings strongly support the hypotheses, indicating a negative association between self-leadership and procrastination behavior at the workplace; conversely, a positive correlation was found between self-leadership and organizational commitment. The discovery further strengthens the results that intrinsic motivation amplifies the positive relationship between self-leadership and organizational commitment. Conclusions: This research underscores the importance of cultivating a culture of self-leadership among banking distribution network employees. By doing so, procrastination can be substantially reduced, enhancing both productivity and overall performance. The study's insights are particularly valuable for organizational leaders in the banking sector, as they provide actionable pathways to foster a more committed, motivated, and efficient workforce.

Transactional Leadership and Innovative Work Behavior: Testing the Mediation Role of Knowledge Sharing in Distribution Market

  • Purpose: This study has three main purposes: first, to examine the effect of transactional leadership on knowledge sharing and innovative work behavior. Second, to examine the effect of knowledge sharing on innovative work behavior. Third, to examine the mediating role of knowledge sharing in the relationship between transactional leadership and innovative work behavior. Research design, data and methodology: The quantitative method is considered appropriate for this study, and a questionnaire is used to collect data from a total of 107 employees who participated in the study. The SmartPLS-SEM version 3.0 is used to analyze data. Results: The results reveal that transactional leadership has a positive and significant effect on knowledge sharing. However, transactional leadership directly has no significant effect on innovative work behavior. In addition, knowledge sharing positively and significantly affects innovative work behavior. This finding demonstrates that knowledge sharing becomes an essential mediator of transactional leadership and innovative work behavior in distribution market. Conclusions: This study makes a novel contribution by unboxing the limited understanding of the effect of transactional leadership on innovative work behavior mediated by knowledge sharing in the lens of social exchange theory. Also, this study highlights that transactional leader develops bonding and willingness among employees to share their knowledge to foster innovative work behavior.
