This paper describes inference architecture of an intelligent CAD system that is to be used for design tasks in which complex and large amount of knowledge is used. In order to investigate the issue of handling huge and complex knowledge, design knowledge is categorized into four types and inference methods for them are identified respectively: original design problems are decomposed into several modules of design processes and finally into sub-problems with the four types of knowledge as basic elements in a top-down manner. We demonstrate the implementation of the architecture with the result of the machining center - a sort of machine tools - design.

A variety of change in modern society has affected a family structure. In addition birth rate is getting lower and nuclear family type is getting common, influence of children has highly increased. According to this phenomenon, needs and concern about education and culture for children increase sharply. Children cultural complex can be learning field, which helps children not only to rediscover the world by themselves but also to have various and abundant experience. The purpose of this study is going to extract a planning factor of the children cultural complex through case studies of korean and oversea project for adaptable children cultural complex. In addition, this study tries to analyze the features of the children cultural complex in korean and oversea. Consequently, The analysis result is to be introduced party room to children cultural complex, used the PVC tile and carpet tile for safety of children and variety, and executed program relevant to nature.

Since the 1970s the increased economy allowed population to concentrate on larger cities which facilitated the lack of apartment complex in the cities. In order to have the solution to the problem, apartment complex were expected to consider the efficiency of using its land. Therefore, The purpose of this study is to clarify the change of the Apartment Complex especially in the Forms and Compositions of outdoor planning of Apartment complex. As a result, the analysis of this researching process of them has shown us the following important characteristics in the change of the Apartment Complex.

단지개발사업은 다양한 구조물이 결합된 사업으로 과거에는 주거, 상업단지 등 단일목적을 갖는 사업위주로 진행되었으나, 최근에는 IT 기술의 발전, 삶의 질 향상 및 생활패턴 변경 등에 따라 U-city를 비롯한 다양한 목적을 갖는 복합단지 형태의 개발이 이뤄지고 있다. 이러한 단지개발과 관련된 인적자원은 각 대학의 도시계획 및 공학, 토목 및 건축공학과에서 이뤄지고 있으며, 도시계획 및 도시공학과에서는 단지개발계획을, 토목 및 건축공학과는 계획을 바탕으로 하는 설계 및 시공과 관련한 교육을 담당하고 있다. 사업의 원활한 진행을 위해 계획 및 설계, 시공은 연속적으로 이뤄져야 하나 현재의 교육과목을 살펴보면 이러한 연속성을 기대하기에는 어려움이 있다. 이에 단지개발 계획수립의 전문가 가 기초적인 엔지니어링 지식을 확보하고 또한 단지개발사업의 설계 및 시공인력은 단지계획 전반을 이해할 수 있도록 기존의 교과목 또는 내용이 개선되어야 할 필요가 있다. 이에 본 연구는 기존 도시계획 및 공학과와 단지개발의 주요 구조물 설계 및 시공과 관련한 토목공학 관련 학과의 교육 내용을 살펴보고, 두 학과의 업무교차가 발생하는 설계단계에 대해 업무를 수행하는 전문인력을 대상으로 업무 중요성을 조사하였다. 이를 통해 단지개발 사업진행 간 설계업무를 이해하고 이와 관련한 설계업무의 효율성을 개선하기 위한 방안을 제시하고자 한다.

Purpose: Korean society has already entered an aged society but there aren't many evidence-based studies on the elderly-friendly design elements in the apartment environment, which is the main residential type in Korea. The main purpose of this study is to verify the necessity and expandability of the outdoor environment design in the public rental apartment complex through the evaluation of the effectiveness and satisfaction of SMG(Seoul Metropolitan Government) Cognitive Health Design Project in GR 1 apartment complex. Methods: The research subjects were GR 1-complex as experimental group and the nearby Wolgye Deer 1-complex as control group, both public rental apartment and located in Seoul. As a research method, the survey was conducted before and after the implementation of SMG project for residents of the apartment. A total of 200 preliminary surveys and 203 post surveys were conducted. Results: As a result of this study, residents' accidents related safety have decreased, and both the frequency of use and satisfaction of most facilities have increased. It is noteworthy that the increase in cognitive items in the post-survey. Also, 74.5% of the residents evaluated that the complex was better to live after the project was implement. Implications: The fact that the preliminary surveys were not conducted for the same person is considered as the limitation of the study, but it is meaningful in that it systematically assesses the effectiveness of the project on the cognitive health of the outdoor residential environment towards age-friendly city.

Earthquake response calculation, parametric analysis and seismic parameter optimization of base-isolated structures are some critical issues for seismic design of base-isolated structures. To calculate the earthquake responses for such non-symmetric and non-classical damping linear systems and to implement the earthquake resistant design codes, a modified complex mode superposition design response spectrum method is put forward. Furthermore, to do parameter optimization for base-isolation structures, a graphical approach is proposed by analyzing the relationship between the base shear ratio of a seismic base-isolation floor to non-seismic base-isolation one and frequency ratio-damping ratio, as well as the relationship between the seismic base-isolation floor displacement and frequency ratio-damping ratio. In addition, the influences of mode number and site classification on the seismic base-isolation structure and corresponding optimum parameters are investigated. It is demonstrated that the modified complex mode superposition design response spectrum method is more precise and more convenient to engineering applications for utilizing the damping reduction factors and the design response spectrum, and the proposed graphical approach for parameter optimization of seismic base-isolation structures is compendious and feasible.

The Commercial space are changed gradually large scalized and complexed to introduce different culture exchanges and experience. However, the mass-complex commercial space are limited as of their complexed space composition or degree of space depth, which may become factors causing people to get tired easily. Thus, having a design strategy is important to create economical effectiveness in order to overcome these limitations and for the people to stay longer and do their consumption activities through more experiences and social interchanges. Recently, Jerde Partnership's who designed many complex commercial spaces made a commercial success by their unique design strategy to setup a new space and lead the interaction between space and people. The purpose of this study is based on Jerd's design concept to analyze Jerd Partnership's design strategy and space related structure to propose their space construction and design method for mass-complex commercial spaces. The results are as follows. (1)Jerde Partnership's causes the abundant space experience of the user through mass and space constitution to have a theme and a story. (2)They builds an excursion type line of flow system with an organic curve, and a non-daily experience by the change of the space scale and the application of various programs is enabled and guides the stay for the long time. (3)They builds the doorway of various courses and a circulation system through the open space and controls depth of the space. In addition, various events are performed in the center of such a circulation system, and this event makes a unique place.
