Purpose: This cross-sectional study was designed to identify anger-expression types of adolescent women and investigate the relationship between the identified anger-expression types and their problem behaviors and suicide probability. Methods: The participants were 942 students at two female high school located in Gwangju. The data were analyzed using descriptive statistics, cluster analysis, t-test, ANOVA, and $Scheff{\acute{e}}$ multiple comparison test. Results: Cluster analysis revealed 4 distinct anger expression types; Anger-out, Low anger expression, Anger-control, and Anger-in/out types. Female adolescent women had a higher level of trait anger or who frequently used the anger-in/out type reported internalized-externalized problem behaviors and suicide probability more frequently compared to those who frequently used the other three types of anger expression. Conclusion: Female adolescent women who had the low anger expression type and anger control type managed anger most effectively. The findings suggest the necessity of a development of the program for lowering the trait anger level and controlling the unfavorable anger expression types such as the anger-in/out.
Purpose: The purpose of this study was to examine the influence of alcohol outcome expectancy, depression and suicidal ideation on problematic drinking among college students. Methods: This study was conducted using a descriptive survey design. Participants were 205 college students from two universities in Jeollanamdo. Data were collected from March 10 to March 25 in 2014 using self-report questionnaires. Data were analyzed by t-test, ANOVA, Pearson correlation coefficient and multiple regression using SPSS 19.0. This study investigated the effects of TBL nursing education(for the care of congestive heart failure patients) on self identity and self efficacy among nursing students. A one-group, pre-post design was utilized with 28 nursing students as the participants. The scenario of TBL nursing education was created based on PBL, and consisted of four states(1) Present a problem, (2) Problem Follow-Up Steps,(3) Present the results including presentation, and(4) Problem Conclusion and after resolution. And then In-depth interviews were conducted with volunteers on program experiences. The data were analyzed using descriptive statistics, Pearson's correlation coefficients and paired t-tests and Giorgi phenomenology analysis method was performed. The TBL program was effective in self - efficacy and self - identity (p<0.01) increased significantly after the education intervention and The meaning of the TBL experience is four (meaning that the learners embarrassed TBL, aggressive learning attitude change, effective collaboration for problem solving in a free learning environment, university classes imagined in high school), and 67 sub-components appeared as an element. The TBL program is an effective teaching method for nursing education and it can be used as basic data for the development of nursing education based on this research.
Purpose: The purpose of this study was to investigate the moderated effects of coping strategies in the relationship between life stress and psychological well-being in university students. Methods: Self-report questionnaires were used to collect the data from 278 university students. The data were analyzed using descriptive statistics, pearson correlation coefficient and hierarchial multiple regression. Results: Psychological well-being is negatively associated with life stress and avoidance coping, and positively associated with problem solving coping. Results showed that there were significant moderated effects of coping strategies in the relationship between life stress and psychological well-being. Under high life stress levels with high problem solving coping and low avoidance coping, there was a high level of psychological well-being. Moreover, life stress and coping strategies interacted well with each other to affect psychological well-being. A negative correlation between life stress and psychological well-being was remarkable for the high problem solving coping group and high avoidance coping group. Conclusion: The study results suggest that in order to improve psychological well-being, it is necessary to provide intervention programs to promote problem solving coping and to reduce the avoidance coping for university students.
After over a century of effort by researchers and engineers, the problem of bluff body flow, in particular vortex shedding frequency, remains almost entirely in the empirical, descriptive realm of knowledge. Computational methods have been systematically applied for vortex-induced vibrations of the cable-stayed bridge with steel composite deck by unsteady wind loadings due to vortex-shedding. The focus of this paper is to predict the vortex-induced vibration of the cable-stayed bridge with steel composite deck based computational fluid dynamics(CFD).
The purposes of this article were to examine teacher's guidance over video utility and to investigate problems for video use in the classroom. Two-hundred-ninety-four teachers in half-day and all-day early childhood programs participated in this study. Descriptive analysis and chi-square tests were used. Results resealed that teacher's guidance before, during, and after video viewing was not carried out enough for the effectiveness of video teaming. The major problem for using a video in early childhood programs was insufficient video materials. These data were interpreted with respect to teachers'training practices and government policy.
Purpose: The study identified the impact of health status, health promoting behaviors, and social problem ability on college adjustment among nursing students. Method: The subjects consisted of 208 nursing students. Data collected from October to November 2011 were analyzed using descriptive statistics, t-test, ANOVA, Pearson correlation coefficients, and stepwise multiple regression. Result: The mean scores of health status ($3.20{\pm}.56$), social problem ability ($3.20{\pm}.43$), and college adjustment ($2.95{\pm}.57$) were above the average. But health promoting behaviors ($2.31{\pm}.39$) was the average. Health status was significantly different according to grade, dwelling, and academic achievement. Health promoting behaviors was significantly different according to gender. College adjustment was significantly different according to gender, grade, religion, dwelling, reason of nursing department application, and academic achievement. But social problem ability was not significantly different according to general characteristics. Significant correlations were found among health status, health promoting behaviors, social problem ability and college adjustment. Health promoting behaviors, social problem ability, academic achievement, and gender were influencing factors of college adjustment (47.3%). Conclusion: These findings indicate that it is considered to gender, academic achievement, health promoting behaviors, and social problem ability to improve college adjustment of nursing students. Will also reflect the need to develop programs to promote desirable college adjustment among nursing students.
Purpose: The purpose of this study was to investigate the nursing informatics competencies, problem-solving ability, and nursing performance ability of nurses, and to determine factors that affect their nursing performance ability. Methods: Data were collected from 210 clinical nurses employed by a general hospital having more than 500 beds in Seoul. The data were collected from June to October, 2014. The questionnaires included a nursing informatics questionnaire, the Korea problem solving process inventory, and a nurse performance appraisal tool. The data were analyzed using descriptive statistics, t-test, ANOVA, Pearson correlation coefficient, and stepwise multiple regression. Results: Nursing performance ability had statistically significant correlation with nursing informatics competencies (r=.49, p<.001) and problem-solving ability (r=.66, p<.001). Factors influencing nursing performance ability were problem-solving ability, nursing informatics competencies, work experience, and educational status, accounting for 54% of the variance. Conclusion: Findings indicate that nursing informatics competencies and problem-solving ability have important influences on the nursing performance ability of clinical nurses. Thus, in order to provide an improvement in nursing performance ability, educational programs towards nurses' problem-solving ability and nursing informatics competencies should be provided.
