  • The purpose of this research is to introduce the concept of "relationship formation factors" in inter-firm relations and to empirically demonstrate that they are effective in improving the relationship results by means of an mediating variable. Therefore, the basic model of this study consists of the independent, mediating, and dependent variables. First, the independent variables, that is, the relationship formation factors, are further classified into three components. transactional, relational, and environmental characteristics. Then, the study empirically examines how each of the three components influences the dependent variable. that is, the business performance(Load Factor), by way of the mediating variables, that is, trust and relationship commitment.

  • To extract apple pectins, apple pomace (AP) was extruded under 14 different conditions of screw speed (250-350 rpm), feed rate of 30-40 kg/hr, and 20-30% moisture content using twin-screw extrusion. Response surface methodology (RSM), based on three variables by three-level factorial design, was employed to investigate effects of screw speed, feed rate, and moisture on dependent variables of extrudates, soluble dietary fiber (SDF), yield of anhydrogalacturonic acid ($Y_{AGA}$) representing pectin, and intrinsic viscosity ([${\eta}$]). Second order models were used to generate three-dimensional response surface for dependent variables, and their coefficients of determination ($R^2$) ranged from 0.96 to 0.99. Moisture content showed highest effect on solubilization of AP.

  • We consider the statistical control problem for the mixture model in which one can choose the values of independent variables that produce the values of the dependent variables as close to the target values as possible. The theory suggested for the problem is reviewed and an extended model with respect to the assumption of variance and the number of dependent variables is suggested. A Basyesian treatment is studied for the above problem with example as an illustration.

  • Studies about wireless internet have been focused on technology issues and few studies were shown in the adoption of wireless internet services. This study uses Technology Acceptance Model in order to understand influencing factors in acceptance of wireless internet services. Reviewing by TAM related studies, this study regards the influencing factors as personal and social environmental dimensions in the case of wireless internet services, and these two factors are used. Two dependent variables-intention and current usage-are adopted for analyzing the effects of the two factors on two dependent variables via mediating variables. The results of this study show that age, frequency of mobile phone usage, occupation, and the recognition level of wireless internet services affected the intention and current usage of these services.

  • Widely orthant dependence (WOD, in short) is a special dependence structure. In this paper, by using the probability inequalities and moment inequalities for WOD random variables, we study the Lp convergence and complete convergence for the partial sums respectively under the conditions of RCI(α), SRCI(α) and R-h-integrability. We also give an application to nonparametric regression models based on WOD errors by using the Lp convergence that we obtained. Finally we carry out some simulations to verify the validity of our theoretical results.

  • Purpose South Korea and China have a long and deep relationship from ancient times to the present. There are many exchanges between economic and educational or other aspects. It will be interesting to compare the perceptions of preliminary entrepreneurs in South Korea and China. Design/methodology/approach This study attempts to analyze the intentions of Korean and Chinese entrepreneurs, and to find the differences between Korean and Chinese entrepreneurs. The research model of this study is composed of internal and external affecting variables, and one dependent variable as the intention of entrepreneurs. A structured questionnaire was distributed to college students and graduate students in South Korea and in China. Data have been analyzed using a Lisrel 8.80 software. Findings The results of this study indicate that all variables except for successful role model have a positive influence on entrepreneurial intentions. The nationality partially mediates the causal relationship between independent variables and dependent variable. Some discussion and implications are suggested.

  • In this paper, the complete convergence and complete moment convergence for a class of random variables satisfying the Rosenthal type inequality are investigated. The sufficient and necessary conditions for the complete convergence and complete moment convergence are provided. As applications, the Baum-Katz type result and the Marcinkiewicz-Zygmund type strong law of large numbers for a class of random variables satisfying the Rosenthal type inequality are established. The results obtained in the paper extend the corresponding ones for some dependent random variables.

  • The notion of asymptotically negative dependence for collection of random variables is generalized to a Hilbert space and the almost sure convergence for these H-valued random variables is obtained. The result is also applied to a linear process generated by H-valued asymptotically negatively dependent random variables.

  • In this paper we introduce a new concept of negative dependence of multivariate random variables. This concept is weaker than the negative orthant dependence(NOD) but it enjoys some properties and preservation results of NOD.
