  • We investigated antioxidant activity and lignan contents by harvesting times to expand use of Schisandra chinensis (Turcz.) Baillon. Total polyphenol and flavonoid contents of seed was higher than those of flesh but there is not much difference in harvesting times. As $RC_{50}$ value, that was, the concentration of sample required for 50% reduction of 2,2-diphenyl-1-picrylhydrazyl (DPPH) free radical, was 13.7~24.2 ${\mu}g/m{\ell}$ in seed thus it showed a high antioxidant activity. Among lignan components, schizandrin content was the highest and followed by gomisin N and gomisin A in all of flesh and seed. Also these components in seed were 4~9 times more contained than those of flesh. All of them were decreased by harvesting times in flesh. But the contents of schizandrin and gomisin N were high in August 3rd and September 15th in seed, respectively. As the results, the seed of S. chinensis had high antioxidant activity and lignan contents so it could be potentially developed as a resource.

  • The university must open the "School Development Plan and Specialization Plan" at the university allimi. The reason for this is the Special Act on the Disclosure of Information by Educational Institutions, enacted on May 25, 2007, and the Plan for Reform of University Reform announced by the Ministry of Education on Mar 28, 2014. Therefore, we examined the similarity and standardized model of the "School Development Plan and Specialization Plan" published by a total of 137 colleges. As a result of the study, only 17(12.4%) of the college produced information in two ways(school development and specialization), and the rest were not. The school development plan presented quantitative indicators such as world number one, The characterization plan presented qualitative indicators such as human. Based on this, standardized research procedures and conception are presented.

The findings of the study are as follows. First, the comparative analysis of the current state of education and education-related departments showed that average employment rate of education departments in 2011 was 35.0%, whereas that of related departments was 56.6%, which showed a significant difference. Second, education courses were specialized in areas such as lifelong educator qualifications, teaching certificates in morality/ethics, corporate HRD(human resource development), etc. in case of education departments. In case of education-related departments, education courses were specialized in areas such as teaching certificates in pedagogy, lifelong educator qualifications, license of school counselor, corporate HRD, etc. Though there were many overlapping areas, specialization was relatively more common and diverse in education-related departments. Next, to help students shape their future career, developments in specialized career courses, new career fields, and career education models were suggested. To give shape to the progress plans, the development of standard education courses for student careers, the introduction of certification system about course specialization, and search for the career path of teaching profession which allows utilization of the knowledge of education were suggested.

The questionnaires were selected as literature suggested for explaining satisfaction of the hospital services, general characteristics of injured workers, characteristics of the hospital services. The data were analyzed with descriptive statistics, t-test, ANOVA, multiple regression analysis by SPSS 19.0. Results: There were significant differences in satisfaction scores, depending on the types of disease, health status and possibility to return to work among the injured workers. Also, there were significant differences in satisfaction scores, in terms of medical facilities, food service, specialization of doctors and nurses, cleanliness of hospital, convenience of hospital teaching and counselling of doctors and nurses, supporting workers' compensation process, counselling of workers' compensation and unfair treatment. In the results of the standard multiple regression analysis, food service, medical facilities, specialization of doctors and nurses, health status and hospital cleanliness were significant factors for satisfaction scores of the hospital services. Conclusion: It is necessary to promote food service, medical facilities, specialization of doctors and nurses, hospital cleanliness, health status of injured workers for developing hospital services.

  • The main aim of the paper is to assess the level of financial literacy among business students. It further aims to investigate the role of external factors that may determine financial literacy. The external factors considered in this study are gender, grade point average, specialization, financial education, and financial socialization. Standard scales such as the Test of Financial Literacy, the Big Three, and other instruments were adapted to measure Financial Knowledge. Further, the study also explored relationships between several factors and the financial knowledge of students. These factors included a student's gender, specialization, number of finance or related courses studied, current Grade Point Average, and financial socialization. A total number of 303 valid responses were received through an online questionnaire administered to business students studying in a public university in the country. Statistical tests namely independent samples t-Test, one-way ANOVA, and correlation analysis were performed in SPSS 28.0. Results show that the overall financial knowledge of students is above average. Gender, number of finance or related courses, and financial socialization do not exhibit any significant relationship with financial knowledge. Current GPA and specialization show significant relationships. The findings of this study have important sectoral and research implications.

  • PURPOSE: This study examined the level of awareness of the guidelines of the physical therapist specialization system. METHODS: This study was a cross-sectional survey of 364 clinical physical therapists working in hospitals. A structured questionnaire consisting of 17 questions was used. The questionnaire consisted of standards and management for the institutionalization of physical therapist specialization, intentions to acquire specialized physical therapist qualifications, specialized fields, and general information of the research subjects. RESULTS: At least five years of clinical experience and a bachelor's degree or higher were required to obtain a specialized physical therapist qualification. Many physical therapists said they would accept the qualification of a specialized physical therapist. Training and examination were appropriate for acquiring specialized physical therapist qualifications, and it was desirable to manage qualifications at the national level or the association of physical therapists. As for the specialized fields of physical therapy, musculoskeletal physical therapy, pediatric physical therapy, and nervous system physical therapy were prioritized, and electrotherapy was not recognized as a specialized field. CONCLUSION: A detailed discussion is needed on the system and cost for acquiring a specialized physical therapist qualification and economic benefits after acquiring the qualification.

  • This paper discusses the European Union's smart specialization strategy and US manufacturing renaissance policy and then proposes new directions for regional industrial policy in Korea. The smart specialization strategy is summarized as the entrepreneurial self-discovery and strategic coordination; the manufacturing renaissance policy as the construction of industrial commons based on ecosystem; and Korea's regional industrial policy as the build-up of regional innovation system based upon industrial clusters. The policy cases of the EU and the United States demonstrate the fact that regional industrial policy should be geographically embedded. Also, they show the relevance of policy mix by linking industrial policy with innovation policy for cross-fertilization between different industry and technology. In addition, the state plays a role as a coordinator and mediator by embedding the democratic discipline into industrial ecosystems. Considering these points, regional industrial policy should be transformed into a platform system that can facilitate linkage between industry and technology.

  • This study was conducted to identify the regional specialization that occurred during industrialization of agriculture. It examined patterns in oriental melons as one of the produce leading the development of the domestic protected horticulture sector. Oriental melons have been cultivated indoors for a long time. Seongju-gun, Gyeongsangbuk-do is specializing in oriental melon cultivation through increasingly intensive production and spatial concentration and is now the largest oriental melon production area in South Korea. This paper first discusses the production intensification and spatial concentration of oriental melon cultivation at the national level and then examines the specialization of oriental melon cultivation in Seongju-gun in terms of land use, cultivation facilities and related technologies, and the division of labor. This examination was based on relevant statistics and in-depth interviews with main actors from the area.
