Data for 422 workers were used in the final analysis. Descriptive statistics and t?tests were performed as appropriate, utilizing SPSS/WIN 14. Results: Among 16 types of OPT, ESTJ, ISTJ and ESTP were the most prevalent for the 12 public health centers. The average weight of OCBs was 4.77, and courtesy and civic virtue held the first and the second ranks among OCBs, respectively. Statistically significant differences between types of OPT were detected, in that T type was gender (p=.007) while J type was age (p=.010), education (p=.043) and career (p=.000). Statistically significant differences between OCBs were found in age, education and career. Conclusion: Public health centers should have programs to innovate OPT and to improve OCB. The development of such programs should consider characteristics of public health center workers such as age, gender, education and career.

The main analysis results are as follows. First, the suicide rates in metropolitan cities were lower than was lower than in other regions, and cities and districts were lower than those in the county area. Second, suicide rates were high in areas with many cultural and social welfare facilities per population. Suicide rates were high in low mental health facilities and low social welfare budgets. The suicide rate in rural areas was high. Third, suicide rates were high in areas with low economic requirements, areas with a high proportion of the elderly, divorce rates, and areas with a small number of social security recipients and living alone. In other words, the suicide rate in rural areas was high. Finally, social workers did not affect the difference in local suicide rates. Local social services and budgets have no real impact on suicide rates. In the future, it is necessary to improve the quality and quantity of community welfare practices that can lower community suicide rates.

  • This study identified the relationship between academic stress and hopelessness among female high school students. The self-administered questionnaires were given to 334 female high school students located in D-city during the period from August 20, 2018 to September 20, 2018. As a result, the distribution of the level of hopelessness among those surveyed was 61.6% for the normal range group, 23.1% for the mild range group, 12.9% for the moderate range group, and 2.4% for the severe range group. The level of hopelessness, according to the academic stress of the study subjects, was significantly higher in the higher academic stress group than that in the lower academic stress group (p=0.000). Hopelessness also showed significant positive correlation with academic stress (r=0.371, p<0.01). The results of the logistic regression analysis showed that the risk ratio of hopelessness was significantly increased 9.27 times in the higher academic stress group when compared to that in the lower academic stress group. According to the multiple regression analysis, the significant variables affecting hopelessness were satisfaction with school life, conversation with parents, eating regularly, stress due to tests, stress due to studies and stress about career paths. Given the above results, the hopelessness of female high school students is significantly related to academic stress. Therefore, it is necessary to develop and implement programs that can properly control academic stress factors.

  • This study was conducted to identify the utilization of public health centers, as well as the individual characteristics and regional characteristics that affect their utilization based on data from the 2016 Community Health Survey, National Statistical Portal, and National Institute of Environmental Research. Independent samples t-tests, variance analysis, and multiple logistic regression analysis were used for analysis. Hierarchical multiple regression was used to analyze individual and regional characteristics. The results of hierarchical multiple regressions revealed that aged regions, women, older age individuals, respondents with lower education level and income level, walking practitioners, nutrition label readers, individuals experiencing depression, those who have received health checkups, those who are not covered by essential care, those who have spouses, and basic livelihood beneficiaries have increased use of public health centers. However, the use of public health centers decreased in stressors, and regions in which the population per 1,000, number of health care workers, health and welfare budget, fiscal independence, and unemployment rate were above the national average. As above, the central government and local governments need to analyze not only individual characteristics such as health behavior and psychological factors, but also regional characteristics, when establishing local health care policy.

  • This study identified the types and dimensions of faculty-student interaction (FSI). A narrative methodology was applied within the qualitative research paradigm. Data was collected using individual in-depth interviews involving 10 students who had experiences of faculty-student interaction more than 6 times over the prior 6 semesters. Data was analyzed according to actors' perspectives, the motivation of actions, and actions toward goal achievement. Three major types of faculty-student interactions emerged from our analysis. First, the initiative interaction type reflects active characteristics of the narrator within FSI and is goal achievement-oriented. Second, the stereotyped interaction was characterized as a unified reaction to the FSI and not significantly related to self-development. Lastly, the reciprocal interaction reflected characteristics of narrators who had potential and flexibility for self-development in the circumstances involving support from professors. The results of this study indicate that faculty-student interaction does not represent the best way to support students for their successful school lives. Faculty needs professionality and sensitivity for student teaching, and students must exhibit curiosity and activeness in developing their knowledge. Positive outcomes from the FSI will be expected in supportive school environments.
