Pattern Classification of Volatile Organic Compounds in Various Indoor Environment (다양한 실내환경 중 휘발성유기화합물 오염의 패턴 분류)

  • The purpose of this study was to survey the distribution patterns of volatile organic compounds(VOCs) and formaldehyde in the various indoor environments using cluster analysis. We investigated VOCs and formaldehyde in subway stations, underground shopping areas, medical centers, maternity recuperation centers, public childcare centers, large stores, funeral houses, and indoor parking lots from June,2005 to May,2006. Concentration of TVOCs in maternity recuperations was 2,605.7 ${\mu}g/m^3$ that was higher than the guideline and other facilities. TVOCs in public childcare centers was 1,951.6 ${\mu}g/m^3$ also it exceeded the guideline. Moreover, concentration of TVOCs in every facility exceeded the guideline of Department of Environment, Korea. In case of formaldehyde, mean concentration, 336.5 ${\mu}g/m^3$, in only public childcare centers exceeded the 120 ${\mu}g/m^3$ of the guideline. Finally, by applying cluster analysis, three pattterns of the indoor air pollutions were distinguished. In the results of analysis, concentrations of TVOCs and formaldehyde of cluster 3 were higher than cluster 1 and 2 that were 2,561.4 ${\mu}g/m^3$ and 184.9 ${\mu}g/m^3$, respectively.

Microbiological Investigation of Ready-to-cook Pork Bulgogi on Korean Markets

  • In this study, ready-to-cook (RTC) pork bulgogi was investigated microbiologically to determine contamination levels. The investigation was conducted because of an increasing trend in the consumption of RTC meat products in Korea. Ninety marinated RTC pork bulgogi samples were collected from major retail outlets (M), department stores (D), and local markets (L) in Seoul, Korea from March to June 2011. This study examined total plate counts (TPC), Escherichia coli, and coliform bacterial counts, and the presence of Bacillus cereus, Staphylococcus aureus, Listeria monocytogenes, Salmonella spp., and E. coli O157:H7. The mean TPC values were 5.89, 6.08, and 5.89 Log CFU/g for M, D, and L, respectively. E. coli was not detected in any sample, but coliforms were present in 72 (80%) of the 90 samples collected. B. cereus, E. coli O157:H7, and Salmonella spp. were not detected; however, S. aureus and L. monocytogenes were detected in five (5.5%) and one (1.1%) of the 90 samples. Samples collected from M and D were contaminated with S. aureus and those from L with L. monocytogenes. These results demonstrate that the conditions under which RTC pork bulgogis are handled and processed are unsanitary.

Exploring the Relationship between Transfer Trips and Land Use (환승통행과 토지이용의 연관성 분석)

  • This paper is to analyze characteristics of transfer trips and to identify impacts of land use on them. Using the smart transport card data of Seoul on a weekday in April 2013, we explored general characteristics of the transfer trips such as spatial and temporal distributions, transfer types, and geographical patterns of transfer trips. Then, the multiple regression model for the transfer trips was developed, considering land use as well as socio-economic variables as explanatory ones. For the characteristics of the transfer trips, their ratio to the total trips accounts for 26.7%. Nearly 87% of the trips are one-time transferred, and 64.7% are bus-subway transfer trips. In addition, the transfer trips are more likely to appear nearby subway stations and business facilities. The regression model indicates that land use variables such as the floor areas of business facilities and department stores and mixed land use index significantly positively affect the transfer trips. Our results can be used as basic data for choosing feasible locations of multi-modal transfer centers in urban areas.

  • In general, the simple items we need to live in are purchased through retail stores such as supermarkets near our home. In the store, not only the items but also the management personnel and the payment instruments for the store management are located in one space called the store. Such a general store environment is gradually changing into an 'unmanned market' as a result of the development and fusion of information and communication technology (ICT). An unmanned market is an environment in which no one runs a market as the word has. An example of a typical change is Amazon's Unofficial Amazon Store. In addition, the usage and prospects of unmanned market in China are growing very meaningfully. In this study, the present situation of the unmanned market is examined in the US and China markets, and the development prospects are described. It also describes the key milestones necessary for the unmanned market.

Design and Implementation of Parking Information Support System for Inner Parking Lot Based on Microprocessor (마이크로프로세서 기반의 실내 주차정보 제공 시스템 설계 및 구현)

  • Apartment complex, buildings, markets and department stores have inner parking lots which can accept many cars but drivers waste lots of times to find the empty parking spaces in crowding parking lots. In this paper, we proposed the inner parking information support system based on microprocessor which can decrease roaming times to find vacant parking spot in confusing parking lots through notice monitor and provide SMS to make it easy to find parked place. Proposed system consist with RFID system for detecting access of cars, microprocessor system for processing data of checking existence of cars on parking spots and communicating with server, and server system which processes information of cars' in and out, guides empty parking spots and parked location to drivers. Suggested system is realized by handmade model parking lot size of 8 cars, and we confirmed practicality by providing information using parking notice monitor and single message service.

  • The purpose of this study is to suggest an anti-aging health care plan through a literature analysis of the life activity system of Oriental Medicine. The source of normal maintenace, development, and change of the natural world and the human body's life activity process is the dynamical cooperative equilibrium of the internal Shen-Ji's discipline that creates, grows, changes, makes differences and stores(生长化收藏) and external Qi-Li's process of change from birth to growth, maturity to old age and ending of life(生長壯老已). Therefore, it was analyzed that the natural and human life activity processes are normally maintained, developed, and transformed. As a result, when the natural healing power of Genuine-Qi, the source of the human vitality, rises with the 'breathing massage' that combines a static breathing method which is anti-aging health care method applying the lifting entering movement of Qi and a dynamic abdominal massage, and it harmonizes the Shen-Ji which is the life process system and Qi-Li so that it is believed to be helpful in prolonging a healthy lifespan.

Research on Color Design in Fashion Display (패션 디스플레이의 색채 디자인에 관한 연구)

  • Fashion display is a part of fashion brand marketing strategy. Today, due to the improvement of consumers' aesthetics, consumers' requirements for display and decoration in fashion stores are also increasing. And color design plays an important psychological role in the display. In this study, the color design of the display is taken as the center, and the status quo, emotional characteristics, psychological and physiological functions of the color design of the display are taken care of. After analyzing specific examples through previous studies, the methods and rules of color design are explored on the basis of these studies, and the principles of color matching beauty are studied to prompt the color design that follows in the display. First, there should be some emphasis on the overall color allocation. Second, the structure of the store needs to be considered. Third, we need to emphasize scientific and reasonable color matching sequence. To sum up, judging this research is of positive significance to the later research on color design.

Estimation of Exposure to Boron from Children's Slime Use in Korea (슬라임(액체괴물) 중 붕소 함량과 어린이의 붕소 노출량 추정)

  • Objectives: This study was conducted to investigate the boron concentrations in 30 slime products and estimate children's dermal exposure to boron. Methods: Thirty slime products from online and offline stores were purchased for boron analysis. The boron content of each slime sample was analyzed using ICP-OES. A nationwide survey was performed to determine use patterns of slimes by a home-visit survey of 10,000 children divided into three age groups: 0-2, 3-6, and 7-12 years. The dermal exposure to boron was calculated using an exposure algorithm for child slime users. Results: The proportion of the child population using slime was 45.8%, and the mean use frequency was $2.5{\pm}3.8$ per week (range: 0.08-35). Mean time spent playing with slime was $19.6{\pm}11.3min$ (range: 1-100). Twenty-five of the thirty slimes contained a boron concentration exceeding the EU limit for toys made with sticky material of 300 mg/kg. Dermal exposure ranged from $0.0008-13.78{\mu}g/kg/day$ with the maximum weight fractions of boron in the 30 products. The dermal exposure estimate was the highest in 7-12 years old group. Conclusion: Slime use among Korean children may cause high exposure to boron. Regulation is needed to minimize boron exposure from slime products.

A Comparative Study on the Performance of Retailers in Korea: Focus on the Growth of Non-­store e-­commerce Business (우리나라 소매업태 간의 경영성과에 관한 비교 연구 - 무점포통신판매업의 성장을 중심으로 -)

  • This study addresses the management performance of the retail industry in Korea. The Non-store e-commerce business, consisting of TV home shopping and online shopping, grew very fast during the 2000s. For roughly six years in the 2010s, the diversification of online shopping business models, intensifying competition, and the proliferation of competition accelerated the entry of offline shopping retailers. During the analysis period from 2001 to 2016, the performance of the Non-­store e-commerce business was statistically better than that of the offline shopping retail business, department stores, general retailers, and small­-sized retailers. As expected, a significant difference between performance and some of the indicators of growth and activity could be seen because of the capital and operating structure of the retail industry. In particular, the Non-store e-commerce businesses have diverse sales media and heterogeneous business models. In this study, we have presented the significance of the differences in the indicators of operating profit and inventory turnover, as well as the discussion required for managing in the future.

A study on design characteristics of SPA brand knitwear in domestic and overseas markets - With a Focus on the 2019 S/S Season - (국내외 SPA 브랜드 니트웨어의 디자인 특성에 관한 연구 - 2019년 S/S 시즌 중심으로 -)

  • The fashion market is expanding and competition is intensifying due to the contraction of consumption in response to the economic recession and changes in trends. In this study, design characteristics reflecting the brand identity and trend are analyzed as important factors for success. In this study, we will look at the design characteristics of knitwear among SPA brand products and help to plan knit designs. First, six brands were selected based on the sales and the number of stores in domestic and foreign SPA brands. The selected brands include UNIQLO, ZARA, H&M, SPAO, TOPTEN, and 8Seconds. We have selected weft knitting knitwear products(1,736 pieces), which are currently sold in domestic and foreign SPA brands, as silhouette items, knitwear design items, gauges, colors, patterns, images, and items as analysis items to analyze the causes of the differences in the design characteristics of domestic and foreign knitwear. The SPA brand has a wide range of tattoo floors, emphasizing practical aspects, a silhouette that fits the body, and a comfortable daily style. Domestic and foreign SPA brands did not show much difference, but Korean brands had a lower diversity of organization and used color for stable sales, showing a lower concern in trend and strong point color applications. If foreign brands pursue femininity based on a sexy image, Korean brands displayed a difference, emphasizing cute images. As for other design factors, it was found that brand identity was reflected more than domestically. As the cycle of trends becomes shorter, fast fashion is expected to continue in the future, and it is hoped that this research will be used as useful data for design projects of domestic companies.
