This study was conducted to evaluate the association between knowledge of Coronavirus disease 2019 (COVID-19), perception of infection control and practice of infection control among dental hygienists. The questionnaires consisted of 9 demographic questions, 10 questions about COVID-19 knowledge, and 36 questions about perception and practice of infection control. The study analyzed 120 participants' data gathered from May 1 to May 31, 2021. For data analysis, T-test, ANOVA, and Pearson correlation were used. As a result, COVID-19 knowledge was 6.59 out of 10, the perception of infection control was 3.57 out of 4 and the practice of infection control was 3.55 out of 4. The COVID-19 knowledge(r=0.485) and perception of infection control(r=0.614) were significantly positively related to practice of infection control. To improve the practice of infection control in the dental field, education of infection control should be mandatory for dental hygienists. Also, the practice of infection control following "Dental Infection Control Standard Policy & Procedure" must be mandatory.
The purpose of this study was to investigate the relationship among the stress on clinical practice, stress coping method and the somatization symptom of dental hygiene students and propose strategies for effective instruction of clinical practice. The survey was performed by self-reported questionnaires for 268 dental hygiene students who have recently experienced clinical practice. Collected data were analyzed using by t-test and Pearson correlation coefficient with the SPSS Win 12.0 program. Its results are as follows. 1. In the satisfaction of clinical practice, 'Satisfaction', 'Average' and 'Unsatisfactory' were 32.5%, 42.2% and 25.4%, respectively. The reason for dissatisfaction of clinical practice were 'insufficient education of college'(29.8%), 'environment of clinical practice institute'(23,4%), 'interpersonal relationship'(21.3%) in order. 2. Somatization symptoms was positive correlation(0.307, p < 0.01) associated with stress of clinical practice. Also it was negative correlation associated with satisfaction level of the subjects and stress of clinical practice. Correlation coefficient of the interpersonal relation factor was found the most significantly high as much as 0.331, according to the analysis carried out between subordinate factors of clinical practice stress and somatization. 3. According to stress coping method. Subjects were distributed into two group of active method and passive method. Thereafter as a result of verifying the difference of somatization symptoms, there was statistically significant difference between active method group and passive method group. Based on the study results, we suggests that effective management program of clinical practice should be developed and applied to the dental hygiene students to make them cope with stress and somatic symptom during their clinical practice.
This study was conducted to provide the basis for psychological management direction of students ahead of their first field practice by grasping the degree of anxiety and confirming the relationship between departments satisfaction and practice expectations. A survey was conducted on dental hygiene students ahead of their first field practice and 135 people were selected as final analysis subjects. Data analysis investigated general characteristics, department satisfaction, field practice expectation and pre-education satisfaction and statistical analysis was conducted through mean(±SD), one-way ANOVA, and multiple linear regression analysis method. As a result, the anxiety level was high in the lower group of performance in the previous semester, and the department satisfaction and pre-education satisfaction were high in the group with low anxiety level. As a result of the correlation analysis, it was found that department satisfaction, field practice expectation, pre-education satisfaction, and anxiety were negatively correlated, and the higher the practice expectation, the lower the anxiety. Therefore, in order to lower the level of anxiety before field practice, it is necessary to come up with measures to increase interventional pre-education, department satisfaction and field practice expectation.

Prader-Willi syndrome (PWS) is a rare genetic disorder reported rarely in dentistry. Dental practitioners should know the features of PWS because affected patients have a variety of dental symptoms. The current report describes a case of PWS. An 18-year-old male patient presented with traumatic injuries. Initial emergency treatments were performed under sedation, and further treatments were conducted under general anesthesia. After adequate healing, periodic follow-up and dietary management according to the patient's age and nutritional phase were recommended. Dental management of PWS patients consists of active preventive measures in addition to dietary consultation according to age and nutritional phase.

Purpose: The purpose of this study is to suggest direction for dental technicians and management of dental laboratories to contribute to the improvement of oral health of citizens with high-quality dental prosthesis by researching operational status and management satisfaction of dental laboratories. Methods: In order to investigate operational status and management satisfaction of dental laboratories, this study conducted a questionnaire survey by mailing questionnaires to heads of dental laboratories designated as clinical training workshops of Department of Dental Technology of G University and a total of 158 questionnaires were used for analysis. Results: As for gender, males were 142 persons (89.9%) and females were 16 persons (10.1%). For location of the laboratories, number of laboratories in metropolitan cities was 94 (59.5%) while small and that in mid-sized cities was 64 (40.5%). As for the satisfaction with job, those who have managed dental laboratories for 23-30 years ($1.92{\pm}77$), transact with 7-12 dental clinics ($1.70{\pm}75$), had monthly income of 4-8 million won ($1.74{\pm}.80$) and had 8-10 employees ($2.33{\pm}.68$) were the highest in their satisfaction. As for satisfaction with management, those who have managed their business for 15-20 years ($2.86{\pm}.52$), transact with more than 20 dental clinics ($2.00{\pm}.04$), had monthly income of less than 4 million won ($2.00{\pm}.85$) and had less than 3 employees ($2.00{\pm}.62$) were the highest in their satisfaction. As for monthly income, those with less than 2 million won were 24 persons (15.2%), 2-4 million were 64 persons (40.5%), 4-6 million were 40 (25.3%), 6-8 million were 14 (8.9%) and over 8 million won were 16 persons (10.2%). As for number of employees, those with less than 3 employees were 32perosns (20.3%), 4-7 were 82 (51.9%), 8-10 were 26 (16.5%) and more than 11 were 10 persons (6.3%). Conclusion: Although dental laboratories have rapidly expanded in number from 473 in 1986 to 2,400 in 2015, dental technician circles are facing difficulty in their management due to fierce competition and low profitability. Therefore, in order to improve this problem, it is necessary to readjust prices for dental prosthesis to realistic ones.
Now it is time to move from the scientific basis of CAMBRA into practical methods for dentists to the incorporate concepts into practice. The aim of this article is to provide a clinical guideline for assessment of caries risk and for application for growing children.

Second, the dental hygiene students significantly excelled the other students in both the level of oral health awareness(p<0.001) and the level of oral health practice(p<0.001). The findings of the study showed that more oral health education experiences led to better oral health awareness and better oral health practice, and that better oral health awareness led to better oral health practice.
The purpose of this study was to investigate the convergence factors affecting professional identity perceived by the emotional labor of clinical practice and self-esteem in some dental hygiene students. The questionnaire was conducted in 205 dental hygiene students from 3 university in Jeollanam-do area. The data were analyzed using SPSS 12.0. Professional identity correlated positively with self-esteem(r=0.366, p<0.01), negatively with emotional labor of clinical practice(r=-0.213, p<0.01). The convergence factors influencing professional identity were satisfaction level with majors(${\beta}=0.434$), self-esteem(${\beta}=0.236$) and emotional labor of clinical practice(${\beta}=-0.199$). The regression model explained 34.6% of professional identity. Therefore, to enhance professional identity in dental hygiene students, it is required to program development to improve satisfaction level of with majors, self-esteem and management of emotional labor of clinical practice.
