  • Unlike ordinary organic field-effect transistors (OFETs), saturation current is hardly to be found in vertical OFETs (VOFETs). Moreover, the fabrication process of patterned sourced for VOFETs is quite complex. In this current work, a simple solution processed VOFET with directly deposited intermediate silver source electrode has been demonstrated. The VOFET exhibits a high leakage current that induces an inversion polarity of its transistor behavior. Interestingly, a well-defined saturation current was observed in the linear scale of transfer characteristic. The VOFET operated with high-current density > $280mA/cm^2$ at $V_d=5V$. Overview potential of the fabricated device in display application is also presented. This preliminary work does open-up a new direction in VOFET fabrication and their application.

  • This research deals with the study of the Thomson heating effect in magneto-thermoelastic homogeneous isotropic rotating medium, influenced by linearly distributed load and as a result of modified couple stress theory. The charge density is taken as a function of the time of the induced electric current. The heat conduction equation with energy dissipation and with hyperbolic two-temperature (H2T) is used to formulate the model of the problem. Laplace and Fourier transforms are used to solve this mathematical model. Various components of displacement, temperature change, and axial stress as well as couple stress are obtained from the transformed domain. To get the solution in physical domain, numerical inversion techniques have been employed. The Thomson effect with GN (Green-Nagdhi) -III theory and Modified Couple Stress Theory (MCST) is shown graphically on the physical quantities.

  • In this article, we have examined the effect of fractional order parameter in a two-dimensional orthotropic magneto-thermoelastic solid in generalized thermoelasticity without energy dissipation with fractional order heat transfer in the context of hall current, rotation and two-temperature due to normal force. Laplace and Fourier transform techniques are used to obtain the solution of the problem. The expressions for displacement components, stress components, current density components and conductive temperature are obtained in transformed domain and then in physical domain by using numerical inversion method. The effect of fractional parameter on all the components has been depicted through graphs. Some special cases are also discussed in the present investigation.

  • Korea Polar Research Institute (KOPRI) installed an ionospheric sounding radar system called Vertical Incidence Pulsed Ionospheric Radar (VIPIR) at Jang Bogo Station (JBS) in 2015 in order to routinely monitor the state of the ionosphere in the auroral oval and polar cap regions. Since 2017, after two-year test operation, it has been continuously operated to produce various ionospheric parameters. In this article, we will introduce the characteristics of the JBS-VIPIR observations and possible applications of the data for the study on the polar ionosphere. The JBS-VIPIR utilizes a log periodic transmit antenna that transmits 0.5-25 MHz radio waves, and a receiving array of 8 dipole antennas. It is operated in the Dynasonde B-mode pulse scheme and utilizes the 3-D inversion program, called NeXtYZ, for the data acquisition and processing, instead of the conventional 1-D inversion procedure as used in the most of digisonde observations. The JBS-VIPIR outputs include the height profiles of the electron density, ionospheric tilts, and ion drifts with a 2-minute temporal resolution in the bottomside ionosphere. With these observations, possible research applications will be briefly described in combination with other observations for the aurora, the neutral atmosphere and the magnetosphere simultaneously conducted at JBS.

  • Demand forecasting is essential in establishing national and corporate strategy as well as the management of their resource. We forecast demand for multi-generation product using discrete choice model combining diffusion model The discrete choice model generally captures consumers'valuation of the product's qualify in the framework of a cross-sectional analysis. We incorporate diffusion effects into a discrete choice model in order to capture the dynamics of demand for multi-generation products. As an empirical application, we forecast demand for worldwide DRAM (dynamic random access memory) and each of its generations from 1999 to 2005. In so doing, we use the method of 'Technological Forecasting'for DRAM Density and Price of the generations based on the Moore's law and learning by doing, respectively. Since we perform our analysis at the market level, we adopt the inversion routine in using the discrete choice model and find that our model performs well in explaining the current market situation, and also in forecasting new product diffusion in multi-generation product markets.

  • We have performed magnetotelluric (MT) surveys to investigate the deep crustal structure of Gyeongsang basin. The MT data were collected in the frequency range from 0.00042 to 320Hz along a profile across the Gyeongsang basin, and 2-D inversion was carried out to interpret the geoelectrical structure. We also extracted gravity data around the MT profile from KIGAM database and calculated the density inversion to compare with the geoelectrical structure. The results obtained are good agreement with geological distribution and indicate contrasts of physical properties of sedimentary rock, igneous rock and metamorphic rock.

  • We studied a structure of the Kunsan basin in the Yellow Sea using ship-borne magnetic data and altimetry satellite-derived gravity data provided from the Scripps institution of oceanography in 2006. The gravity data was analyzed via power spectrum analysis and gravity inversion, and the magnetic data via analytic signal technique, pseudo-gravity transformation, and its inversion. The results showed that the depth of bedrock tended to increase as we approached the center of the South Central Sag in Kunsan basin and that the maximum and minimum of its depth were estimated to be about 6-8 km and 2 km, respectively. Inaddition, the observed high anomaly of gravity and magnetism was attributed to the intrusion of igneous rock of higher density than the surrounding basement rock in the center of South Central Sag, which was consistent with the interpretation of seismic data obtained in the same region.

  • This study is preparation of microporous membranes by using macrocyclic metal ion complexes and extended cage complexes. It is a more favorable way to existing methods because polymer and metal ion-ligand complex system provides a fine control over the phase transition behavior. Chemical functionalization of the polar surface can be obtained. Metal-templated condensation of cyclohexanedione dioxime, hydroxyphenylboronic acid in the presence of metal salts proceeds cleanly in methanol to furnish the metal clathrochelate complexes. Organic/inorganic hybrid membranes were prepared with polyethersulfone (PES), polyvinylpyrrolidone (PVP), ethyleneglycol butyl ether (BE), metal clathrochelate s and DMF by using nonsolvent induced phase inversion method. The structure of membranes was characterized with scanning electron microscopy (SEM) and microflow permporometer. The addition of Fe(II) clathrochelate complex with p-hydroxyphenyl group leads to changes of membrane morphology such as narrow mean pore size distribution, increase of surface pore density and decrease of the largest pore size.

  • The purpose of this study was to determine the biomechanical effect of wearing carbon nanotube-based insole on cushioning and muscle tuning during drop landing. Twenty male university students(age: $21.2{\pm}1.5yrs$, height: $175.4{\pm}4.7cm$, weight: $70.2{\pm}5.8kg$) who have no musculoskeletal disorder were recruited as the subjects. Average axial strain, average shear strain, inversion angle, linear velocity, angular velocity, vertical GRF and loading rate were determined for each trial. For each dependent variable, a one-way analysis of variance(ANOVA) with repeated measures was performed to test if significant difference existed among different three conditions(p<.05). The results showed that Average axial strain of line 4 was significantly less in CNT compared with EVA and PU during IP phase. The average shear strain was less in CNT compared with EVA and PU during other phases. The inversion angle was increased in CNT compared with EVA and PU during all phase. In linear velocity, angular velocity, vertical GRF and loading rate, there were no significant difference between the three groups. This result seems that fine particle of carbon nanotube couldn't make geometric form which can absolve impact force by increasing density through eliminating voids of forms. Thus, searching for methods that keep voids of forms may play a pivotal role in developing of insole. This has led to suggestions of the need for further biomechanical analysis to these factors.

  • The coronal electron density is a fundamental and important physical quantity in solar physics for estimating coronal magnetic fields and analyzing solar radio bursts. To check a validation of coronal electron density distributions (CEDDs) from polarized brightness (pB) measurements with Van de Hulst inversions, we compare CEDDs derived from a polarized brightness (pB) observation [MLSO/MK4 coronameter] and one spectroscopic observation [SOHO/UVCS]. For this, we consider data observed in 2005 with the following conditions: (1) the observation time differences from each other are less than 1 minutes; and (2) O VI doublet (O VI $1031.9{\AA}$ and $1037.6{\AA}$) is well identified. In the pB observation, the CEDDs can be estimated by using Van de Hulst inversion methods. In the spectroscopic observation, we use the ratio of radiative and collisional components of the O VI doublet to estimate the CEDDs. We find that the CEDDs obtained from pB measurements are higher than those based on UVCS observations at the heights between 1.6 and 1.8 Rs (${\times}1.9$ for coronal streamer, 1.2 ~ 1.8 for background corona, and 1.5 for coronal hole), while they are lower than those based on UVCS at the heights between 1.9 and 2.6 Rs (${\times}0.1{\sim}0.6$ for coronal streamer, 0.5 ~ 0.7 for background corona, and 0.6 for coronal hole). The CEDDs of coronal streamers are higher than those of background corona at the between 1.6 and 2.0 Rs: ${\times}1.2{\sim}2.4$ for MK4 and 1.5 ~ 1.9 for UVCS.
