A 0.25-$\mu\textrm{m}$ CMOS 1.6Gbps/pin 4-Level Transceiver Using Stub Series Terminated Logic Interface for High Bandwidth

  • As the demand for higher data-rate chip-to-chip communication such as memory-to-controller, processor-to-processor increases, low cost high-speed serial links\ulcorner become more attractive. This paper describes a 0.25-fm CMOS 1.6Gbps/pin 4-level transceiver using Stub Series Terminated Logic for high Bandwidth. For multi-gigabit/second application, the data rate is limited by Inter-Symbol Interference (ISI) caused by channel low pass effects, process-limited on-chip clock frequency, and serial link distance. The proposed transceiver uses multi-level signaling (4-level Pulse Amplitude Modulation) using push-pull type, double data rate and flash sampling. To reduce Process-Voltage-Temperature Variation and ISI including data dependency skew, the proposed high-speed calibration circuits with voltage swing controller, data linearity controller and slew rate controller maintains desirable output waveform and makes less sensitive output. In order to detect successfully the transmitted 1.6Gbps/pin 4-level data, the receiver is designed as simultaneous type with a kick - back noise-isolated reference voltage line structure and a 3-stage Gate-Isolated sense amplifier. The transceiver, which was fabricated using a 0.25 fm CMOS process, performs data rate of 1.6 ~ 2.0 Gbps/pin with a 400MHB internal clock, Stub Series Terminated Logic ever in 2.25 ~ 2.75V supply voltage. and occupied 500 * 6001m of area.

Delphi기법에 의한 기계공학기술과 다른 기술분야의 국제적 기술수준과 국제기술협력 가능성에 대한 비교연구

  • We provide a set of information on technologies to draw meaningful action plans for the inter- nationalization of National R&D activities. In this study, we employed a modified Delphi method to evaluate level od our technological capabilities and developed countries' as well. We investigated technology acquistion methodologies,technology characteristics and various aspects of international cooperation in terms of technology. Then we analyzed final responses of participants (i.e, the third round results of Delphi method) to see the correlation among various factors in developing tehnologies through international R&D cooperation. The technology classification used in this research was developed by STEPI (Science and Technology Policy Institute). In conclusion, levels of our technologies were investigated to be between the stage of imitating/absorbing advanced technologies and the stage of digesting acquired technologies. Especially, comparing with other technologies, mechanical engineering was evaluated to be almost near the stage of digesting acquired technology (the middle level stage of technology). Out overal technological capabilites were evaluated to be 40~60% of top level countries'.

Japanese Financing Policies for Innovation Since the 1990s

  • Since the 1990s, the Japanese government has made considerable attempts at stimulating innovation with an aim to pull the country out of a possibly permanent economic decline. Several laws and policy initiatives were introduced to encourage better interaction between universities (and research institutions) and industry. The results of these efforts have been mixed. While the number of university-industry joint and commissioned research has increased, revenues from the licensing of university-owned patents have fluctuated year by year. Although the number of startups and spin-offs from universities rose, their long-term survival and contribution to the economy remain uncertain. The Japanese experience features both strengths and weaknesses. Strengths include the long-term commitment of policy makers, the ability to set specific targets, and the active engagement of several key economic ministries. Nevertheless, the effectiveness of these policy initiatives was hampered by limitations within the policies concerning the roles of universities and their mode of interaction with industry based on intellectual property rights, the inadequacy of demand-side innovation policies, the fragmentation of bureaucracy, and a lack of a credible evaluation system.

정부의 IT인력양성정책 대한 문제점과 개선안 (Problems and Suggestions for the IT Workforce Training Programs)

  • To meet the needs of the information age, the Korean government has placed a high priority in building the IT -capable workforce. Though a sizable financial resource was committed in implementing the policy, its effectiveness was not examined yet. The policy for the workforce development should be assessed continuously so that any misdirections are detected and redressed. The present study addresses four potential problems that would not allow the government to switch from a quantity-based policy to a quality-based policy. These are ① Korean universities' labor supply chain. ② moral hazard problems. ③ financial capacity of students, ④ horizontal policy orientation. The paper also proposes solutions to the mentioned problems. The government should foster an environment in which provide the concerned parties(universities. private institutions. students. etc,) with incentives to participate actively and promote the market principle of labor supply and demand. Such an ex-ante approach is believed to improve the system's efficiency compared to the extant approach based on ex-post KPI figures. If the four issues are not redressed. the market failure is likely to occur. The government should not make direct involvement in developing manpower, but rather be a linchpin to pull all concerned parties together. By doing so. the government should be able to fill the gap among parties in the system. One government role would be like defining workforce categories and promoting their career paths. Such role will also trigger universities and private institutions to pursue differential strategies along the supply chain of a particular workforce type.

  • We provide a set of information on technologies in the area of mechanical engineering to draw meaningful action plans for the internationalization of National R&D activities. Then, we analyzed final responses of participants(i.e., the third round results of Delphi method) to see the correlation among various factors in developing mechanical engineeing technologies through international cooperation. The technology classification used in this research was devel- oped by STEPI(Science and Technology Policy Institute). In conclusion, our mechanical engineering technology is investigated to be below the middle level stage of technology(i.e., the stage of digesting acquired technologies) except the shipbuilding equipments technology which is evaluated to be on the top level stage of technology.

경제적, 산업구조적, 문화적 요인을 기반으로 한 주요 국가의 한국 품목별 수입액 예측 모형 개발: 한국의, 한국에 대한 문화적 요인을 중심으로 (Development of the forecasting model for import volume by item of major countries based on economic, industrial structural and cultural factors: Focusing on the cultural factors of Korea)

  • 한국경제는 지난 수십년간 정부의 수출전략정책에 힘입어 지속적으로 경제 성장을 이룩해왔으며, 수출의 증가는 경제의 효율성 향상, 고용창출, 기술개발 촉진 등 우리나라의 경제 성장을 견인하는 주도적인 역할을 해왔다. 전통적으로 우리나라 수출에 영향을 미치는 주요 요인은 크게 경제적 요인과 산업구조적 요인이라는 두가지 관점에서 찾아볼 수 있다. 첫번째, 경제적 요인은 환율과 글로벌 경기 변동과 관련된 것으로서, 환율이 우리나라 수출에 미치는 영향은 환율 수준 및 환율 변동성에 따른 영향으로 나누어 살펴볼 수 있으며, 글로벌 경기 변동은 세계 수입 수요에 영향을 미쳐 우리나라 수출을 좌우하는 절대적 요인으로 볼 수 있다. 두 번째, 산업구조적 요인은 국제 분업화의 둔화, 중국의 특정 수입품 자국내 대체 증가, 수출 주력 산업의 해외생산 형태 변화 등 산업이나 제품에 따라 발생한 고유한 특징이다. 가장 최근 글로벌 교류와 관련된 연구들을 살펴보면, 경제적 요인 및 산업구조적 요인과 더불어 문화적인 측면이 중요함을 여러 문헌에서 피력하고 있다. 이에 따라 본 연구에서는 각국의 한국 수입액 예측 모형에 문화적 요인을 함께 반영하여 예측 모형을 개발하고자 하였으며, 구체적으로 문화적 요인이 수입액에 미치는 영향을 PUSH-PULL 프레임워크 관점에서 반영해보고자 하였다. PUSH 관점은 한국이 자신의 브랜드를 개발하고 적극 홍보하는 관점으로 K-POP, K-FOOD, K-CULTURE 등으로 대표되는 한국의 브랜드에 대한 각국의 관심 정도로 정의할 수 있다. 또한, PULL 관점은 각 국가의 국민들의 문화적, 심리적 특징으로 해당 국가의 지배체계, 남성성, 위험 회피성, 시간에 대한 단기/장기 지향성 등으로 대표되는 각 국의 문화 코드로서 한류문화를 얼마나 수용할 성향을 띄고 있는지로 정의할 수 있다. 본 연구에서 제시한 최종 예측 모델의 고유한 특징은 Design Principle에 기반하여 설계한 것인데, 1) 신규로 추가한 데이터 소스를 통해 한국에 대한 관심 및 문화적 특성이 반영될 수 있는 모형으로 구축하였고, 2) 경제적 요인 등의 변화와 품목 및 국가 Code를 입력하면 예측값을 바로 불러올 수 있도록 실용적으로 편의성 있게 설계하였으며, 3) 이론적으로도 의미 있는 결과를 도출하기 위해서 입력과 목표 변수간의 관계를 해석 가능한 알고리즘을 중심으로 설계하였다는 점이다. 본 연구는 기술적 측면, 경제적 측면, 정책적 측면에서 의미 있는 시사점을 제시할 수 있으며, 수입액 예측 모형을 활용하여 중소·중견기업의 수출 지원 전략에 의미 있는 기여를 할 수 있을 것으로 기대된다.

디스플레이산업에서 수주생산방식의 개선 및 효율화 제고 방안 (A Proposal for the Improvement Method of Order Production System in the Display Industry)

  • MTO (Make to Order) is a manufacturing process in which manufacturing starts only after a customer's order is received. Manufacturing after receiving customer's orders means to start a pull-type supply chain operation because manufacturing is performed when demand is confirmed, i.e. being pulled by demand (The opposite business model is to manufacture products for stock MTS (Make to Stock), which is push-type production). There are also BTO (Build to Order) and ATO (Assemble To Order) in which assembly starts according to demand. Lean manufacturing by MTO is very efficient system. Nevertheless, the process industry, generally, which has a high fixed cost burden due to large-scale investment is suitable for mass production of small pieces or 'mass customization' defined recently. The process industry produces large quantities at one time because of the lack of manufacturing flexibility due to long time for model change or job change, and high loss during line-down (shutdown). As a result, it has a lot of inventory and costs are increased. In order to reduce the cost due to the characteristics of the process industry, which has a high fixed cost per hour, it operates a stock production system in which it is made and sold regardless of the order of the customer. Therefore, in a business environment where the external environment changes greatly, the inventory is not sold and it becomes obsolete. As a result, the company's costs increase, profits fall, and it make more difficult to survive in the competition. Based on the customer's order, we have built a new method for order system to meet the characteristics of the process industry by producing it as a high-profitable model. The design elements are designed by deriving the functions to satisfy the Y by collecting the internal and external VOC (voice of customer), and the design elements are verified through the conversion function. And the Y is satisfied through the pilot test verified and supplemented. By operating this make to order system, we have reduced bad inventories, lowered costs, and improved lead time in terms of delivery competitiveness. Make to order system in the process industry is effective for the display glass industry, for example, B and C groups which are non-flagship models, have confirmed that the line is down when there is no order, and A group which is flagship model, have confirmed stock production when there is no order.

철도차량 소비전력량 평가에 따른 틸팅기술 효과분석 (A Study on the Effect Analysis of the Tilting Technology According to the Evaluation of Electric Power Consumption Energy of Rolling Stock)

  • 본 논문에서는 철도차량에 틸팅 기술 도입시 효과로 연구되고 있는 속도향상에 따른 운전시간 단축과 더불어 전력 소비량 감소로 에너지가 절감되는 것을 정량적으로 분석하여, 국내 철도차량에도 틸팅 기술 도입 필요성을 제시하고자 한다. 이를 위해 동일 노선을 한국형 틸팅 열차인 한빛 200과 8200호대 전기기관차가 견인하는 여객열차로 운행시의 소비전력을 동일 조건으로 환산 후 비교 분석하여 틸팅 기술 접목이 에너지 저감에 미치는 효과에 대하여 분석하였다. 에너지 절약은 세계적인 추세로서, 이의 해결을 위한 대책들을 여러 분야에서 끊임없이 연구하고 있다. 또한 기존선 속도 향상을 위한 선로 개량 및 신호체계 변경 등이 이루어 지고 있는 시점에서, 틸팅 기술을 통해 기존 인프라를 최대한 활용하여 열차 속도를 향상시킬 수 있다면 운전시간 단축을 통한 여객 수요 증대와 에너지 절감으로 경영개선에 크게 기여 할 수 있으리라 판단된다.

CCN을 활용한 군 정보통신망 효율성 향상 방안 (A Study on the Improvement of Military Information Communication Network Efficiency Using CCN)

  • 스마트폰과 사물인터넷((IoT) 발달의 빠른 성장세와 모바일 동영상을 중심으로 한 폭발적인 데이터 사용의 수요는 날로 증가하고 있다. 이러한 데이터 사용의 증가는 현재 체계에서 많은 문제점이 발생하고 있다. 특히 호스트 기반 네트워크는 서버 집약적으로 다수의 클라이언트들이 서로 동일한 콘텐츠를 요구할 경우 서버로의 트래픽 집중으로 인한 병목현상 문제가 발생한다. 이러한 문제점을 해소하기 위해 미래 네트워크 기술인 CCN이 대안으로 등장했다. CCN 기술의 중간 노드 Caching을 활용하면 대역폭 사용 또한 효율적으로 사용할 수 있다. 군의 특수한 환경에서 사용되는 사용자 요청 기반의 Pull-based 네트워크인 과학화경계시스템과 해안정보공유체계에에 CCN 적용결과 평균응답시간의 70%가 개선이됐으며 네트워크 통신량 역시 기존 체계에 비해 10%로 감소해 보다 효율적으로 콘텐츠를 제공할 수 있다.
