시간 지연을 갖는 쌍전파 신경회로망을 이용한 근전도 신호인식에 관한 연구 (A Study on EMG Signals Recognition using Time Delayed Counterpropagation Neural Network)

  • In this paper a new neural network model, time delayed counterpropagation neural networks (TDCPN) which have high recognition rate and short total learning time, is proposed for electromyogram(EMG) recognition. Signals the proposed model increases the recognition rates after learned the regional temporal correlation of patterns using time delay properties in input layer, and decreases the learning time by using winner-takes-all learning rule. The ouotar learning rule is put at the output layer so that the input pattern is able to map a desired output. We test the performance of this model with EMG signals collected from a normal subject. Experimental results show that the recognition rates of the suggested model is better and the learning time is shorter than those of TDNN and CPN.

Time Course of Symptom Disappearance after Microvascular Decompression for Hemifacial Spasm

  • Objective : This study is to investigate time course of symptom disappearance in patients whose spasm relieved completely after microvascular decompression (MVD). Methods : Of 115 patients with hemifacial spasm (HFS) who underwent MVD from April 2003 to December 2006, 89 patients who had no facial paralysis after operation and showed no spasm at last follow-up more than 1.5 years after operation were selected. Symptom disappearance with time after MVD was classified into type 1 (symptom disappearance right after operation), type 2 (delayed symptom disappearance) and type 3 (unusual symptom disappearance). Type 2 was classified into type 2a (with postoperative silent period) and type 2b (without silent period). Results : Type 1, type 2a, type 2b and type 3 were 38.2%, 48.37%, 124% and 1.1%, respectively. Delayed disappearance group (type 2) was 60.7%. Post-operative symptom duration in all cases ranged from 0 to 900 days, average was 74.6 days and median was 14 days. In case of type 2, average post-operative symptom duration was 115.1 days and median was 42 days. Five and 3 patients required more than 1 year and 2 years, respectively, until complete disappearance of spasm. In type 2a, postoperative silent period ranged from 1 to 10 days, with an average of 24 days. Conclusion : Surgeons should be aware that delayed symptom disappearance after MVD for HFS is more common than it has been reported, silent period can be as long as 10 days and time course of symptom disappearance is various as well as unpredictable.

퍼지 보상기를 사용한 리커런트 시간지연 신경망 제어기 설계 및 구현 (Design and Implementation of Recurrent Time Delayed Neural Network Controller Using Fuzzy Compensator)

  • 본 논문에서는 신경망제어기의 출력을 보상하는 퍼지보상기를 갖는 리커런트 시간 지연 신경망(RTDNN) 제어기를 제안하였다. 학습이 완료된 신경망제어기를 사용하더라도 예상치 못한 외란으로 인해 플랜트의 출력이 좋지 못한 경우가 있는데, 이것을 적절하게 조절해 주기 위해 퍼지보상기를 사용하여 원하는 결과를 얻을 수 있도록 하였다. 그리고 플랜트의 역모델 신경망을 학습시킨 결과를 이용하여 주 신경망의 가중치를 변경시킴으로서 원하는 플랜트의 동적 특성을 얻게 된다. 2차 플랜트를 통한 모의실험 결과가 시간 지연 신경망(TDNN)제어기보다 더 좋은 응답 특성을 가짐을 확인할 수 있다. 제안한 제어기의 성능을 확인하기 위해 유압 서보시스템을 대상으로 DSP 프로세서를 사용하여 구현한 후 실험결과를 통하여 제안된 방법의 유용성을 보였다.

지연된 의도적 재식술을 통한 치주 조직 재생 방법의 고찰 (Delayed intentional replantation: new approach for periodontal regeneration and establishment of theoretical background)

  • Purpose: Delayed intentional replantation was introduced as a new alternative to treat the teeth with severe periodontal involvement. The purpose of this study was to elucidate the possibility of delayed intentional replantation and establish theoretical backgrounds. Materials and Methods: Studies were performed into the following two subjects; (1)Clinical evaluation of patients who underwent delayed intentional replantation using clinical and radiographic data. Severe periodontitis involved teeth were carefully extracted and proper time for delayed replantation was evaluated by analyzing inflammation markers (IL-6, TNF-${\alpha}$). (2) Theoretical studies for efficacy of delayed intentional replantation using (-)-Epigallocatechin-3-gallate (EGCG) for preservation of periodontal ligament cells on root surface by minimizing inflammation and treatment of inflammatory extraction sockets. Results: Meaningful success ratio and survival rate were found in delayed intentional replantation showing reduced bone loss and maintained bone level. Additionally, viability of EGCG applied periodontal ligament cells was much higher than control group. Also, EGCG promoted healing of inflammatory extraction sockets by inhibiting inflammatory cell proliferation. Conclusion: Within the limitations of this study, 1-2 weeks after extraction is an appropriate time to do delayed intentional replantation. Also, EGCG provides helpful effects on viability of periodontal ligament cells and periodontium.

지연발생 근육통의 냉치료 효과에 대한 연구 (The effects of cryotherapy on delayed onset muscle soreness)

  • Delayed onset muscle soreness is a sensation of discomfort that occurs 24 h after exercise, and it is associated with the performance of unfamiliar and high force muscle work, such as eccentric contractions. The injury to the muscle has been well described but the mechanism underlying the injury is not fully understood. Although the pathophysiological processes underlying delayed onset muscle soreness are not completely understood, many researchers have investigated various treatments in a attempt to reduce the soreness. Physical therapy is the most importance techniques to reduce delayed onset muscle soreness. The purpose of this study is to investigate the effect of a cryotherapt on DOMS. Thirty subjects were randomly assigned to experimental group : control, cryotherapy, and placebo group. Elbow flexion range, mechanical pain threshold. and subjective pain were measured 30 min before DOMS was induced and 24, 48, 72 hours after DOMS was induced. The results of this study were as follows: 1. Elbow flexion range showed significant difference each time, especially at 48 and 72 hours 2. Mechanical pain thershold and subjectively pain showed no significant difference between group.

H^$\infty$ Control for Linear Systems with Delayed Sate and Control

  • This paper presents an H\ulcorner controller design method for linear time-invariant systems with delayed state and control. Using the second method of Lyapunov, the stability for delayed systems is discussed. For delayed systems, we derive a sufficient condition of the bounded real lemma(BRL) which is similar to GBRL for nondelayed systems. And the sufficent conditions for the existence of an H\ulcorner controller of any order are given in terms of three linear matrix inequalities(LMIs). Further, we briefly explain how to construct such controllers from the positive definite solutions of their LMIs and gie a simple example to illustrate the validity of the proposed design procedure.

  • In this article, we are interested in studying the fractional Sadik Transform and a combination of the method of steps that will be applied together to find accurate solutions or approximations to homogeneous and non-homogeneous delayed fractional differential equations with constant-coefficient and possible extension to time-dependent delays. The results show that the process is correct, exact, and easy to do for solving delayed fractional differential equations near the origin. Finally, we provide several examples to illustrate the applicability of this method.

H$\infty$ Control for Linear Systems with Time-Varying Delayed States, Control Inputs, and Measurement Outputs

  • This paper presents an H$\infty$ controller design method for linear systems with time-varying delayed states, inputs, and measurement outputs. Using a Lyapounov unctional , the stability for delay systems is discussed independently of time delays . And a sufficient condition for the existence of H$\infty$ controllers of n-th order is given in terms of three matrix inequalities. Based on the positive-definite solutions of their matrix inequalities, we briefly explain how to construct H$\infty$ construct H$\infty$ controller, which stabilizes time-delay systems independently of delays and guarantees an H$\infty$ norm bound.

  • We consider a delayed predator prey model. The local stability and Hopf bifurcation results are stated taking the time delay as a control parameter. We apply multiple scale analysis to analyze the effects of additive white noises near the Hopf bifurcation point at the positive interior equilibrium state. The governing equations for the amplitude of oscillations on a slow time scale are derived. We identify the process of amplitude of oscillations and derive its transient properties. We show that oscillations, which would decay in the deterministic system whenever time delay lies below its critical value, persists for long time under the validity of multiple scale analysis.

  • In this study, Design methods of stabilizing controller for time-delay pure singularly perturbed systems are proposed. Based on the Chang transformation and Lambert W function, we decompose the time-delayed pure singularly perturbed systems into completely decoupled subsystems and derive sufficient stability conditions for $2{\times}2$ time-delayed pure singularly perturbed systems. An illustrated example is presented to demonstrate the validity and applicability of the proposed methods.
