With the mathematic linear model of a combustor which consists of a combustion chamber and injectors, the analysis of low frequency dynamic characteristics of a liquld-propellant rocket engine combustor was performed. Propellant mass flowrate was varied by combustion chamber pressure feedback, therefore low frequency oscillation was appeared. Increasing the time constant of a combustion chamber and injector pressure differences and decreasing combustion time delay increased the combustor system stability. The variation of injector time constant little affected stability. The system was always stable, when there was no combustion time delay. Increasing combustion time delay decreased oscillation frequency and damping ratio, and the system eventually became unstable.
In this study, the effect of the hole spacing and the detonation delay time in the long hole blasting of two free surface rock mass on the variation of the principal strains in the vicinity of blasting holes is investigated by use of the finite element program, Visual FEA. The cross section perpendicular to blasting holes is modelled and the maximum principal strains at some major points in the cracking zone are examined. As a result, it was found that the maximum principal strain in the cracking zone becomes larger in the long hole blasting with the narrower hole spacing and the longer detonation delay time. The maximum principal strain was affected by the detonation position in charge hole.

In case of more than 50km baseline length, the correlation between receivers is reduced. Therefore, there are still some rooms for improvement of its positional accuracy. In this paper, the stochastic modeling of the ionospheric delay is applied and its effects are analyzed. The data processing has been performed by constructing a Kalman filter with states of positions, ambiguities, and the ionospheric delays in the double differenced mode. Considering the medium or long baseline length, both double differenced GPS phase and code observations are used as observables and LAMBDA has been applied to fix the ambiguities. The ionospheric delay is stochastically modeled by well-known 1st order Gauss-Markov process. And the correlation time and variation of 1st order Gauss-Markov process are calculated. This paper gives analyzed results of developed algorithm compared with commercial software and Bernese.
In case implementation of microwave photonic (MWP) systems for phased array radars (PARs), noise and time delay error should be minimized to obtain accurate beam direction. Time delay error in MWP systems is generated from signal noise and timing jitter. In this paper, noise and timing jitter in MWP systems for PAR is researched, also according to the amplification of an erbium-doped fiber amplifier, noise and timing jitter variation is verified by an experiment. Timing jitter is decreased and SNR is increased if we amplify the signal by using an erbium-doped fiber amplifier, up to the amplification rate of signal and noise is similar.
This study develops a real-time signal control algorithm based on sectional travel times and includes a field test and evaluation. The objective function of the signal control algorithm is the equalization of delay of traffic movements, and the main process is calculating dissolved time of the queue and delay using the sectional travel time and detection time of individual vehicles. Then this algorithm calculates the delay variation and a targeted red time and calculates the length of the cycle and phase. A progression factor from the US HCM was applied as a method to consider the effect of coordinating the delay calculation, and this algorithm uses the average delay and detection time of probe vehicles, which were collected during the accumulated cycle for a stabile signal control. As a result of the field test and evaluation through the application of the traffic signal control algorithm on four consecutive intersections at 400m intervals, reduction of delay and an equalization effect of delay against TOD control were confirmed using the standard deviation of delay by traffic movements. This study was conducted to develop a real-time traffic signal control algorithm based on sectional travel time, using general-purpose traffic information detectors. With the current practice of disseminating ubiquitous technology, the aim of this study was a fundamental change of the traffic signal control method.

In the present study, gas-assisted molding and structural vibration analysis of hollow long cylinder with the variation of gas injection pressure are performed. Though there are so many parameters such as delay time, injection pressure, and gas pressure on gas-assisted molding, the latter has the most dominant effect on this process. Therefore, the present paper deals with the effects of gas pressure on the dynamic stiffness of the model by means of vibration analysis and then suggests the fundamental materials which can be directly adapted to manufacturing lines.
Vaporization, ignition and combustion of fuel droplets in tandem array are theoretically investigated to understand the droplet interactions in combustors. Including the effects of density variation in gas-phase, internal circulation and transient liquid heating, a numerical studies are performed by changing parameters such as initial droplet temperatures, initial droplet spacings, initial Reynolds numbers, surrounding gas temperatures, and activation energies of fuel vapors. Combustion regime maps classify the droplet combustion phenomena according to the configuration and location of the flame with respect to injection Reynolds numbers and surrounding gas temperatures. In addition, it is shown that the dynamic histories of droplets and ignition delay times are dependent on droplet size ratios and initial spacings of tandem droplets.
We use Krasnoselskii's fixed point theorem to show that the nonlinear neutral difference equation with delay x(t + 1) = a(t)x(t) + c(t)${\Delta}$x(t - g(t)) + q(t, x(t), x(t - g(t)) has a periodic solution. To apply Krasnoselskii's fixed point theorem, one would need to construct two mappings; one is contraction and the other is compact. Also, by making use of the variation of parameters techniques we are able, using the contraction mapping principle, to show that the periodic solution is unique.
HCCI engines have mainly focused on achieving low temperature combustion in order to obtain higher efficiency and lower emission. One of practical difficulties in HCCI combustion is to control the start of combustion and subsequent combustion phasing. The choice of primary reference fuels in HCCI strategy is one of various promising solutions to make HCCI combustion ignition-controlled. The behavior of ignition delay to the frequency variation of sinusoidal velocity oscillation is computationally investigated under HCCI conditions of PRF75 using a reduced chemistry in a counterflow configuration. The second-stage ignition is more delayed as the higher frequency is imposed on nozzle velocity fluctuation whereas the first-stage ignition is not much influenced.
This paper overviews clock design problems related to the circuit reliability in deep submicron design technology. The topics include the clock polarity assignment problem for reducing peak power/ground noise, clock mesh network design problem for tolerating clock delay variation, electromagnetic interference aware clock optimization problem, adjustable delay buffer allocation and assignment problem to support multiple voltage mode designs, and the state encoding problem for reducing peak current in sequential elements. The last topic belongs to finite state machine (FSM) design and is not directly related to the clock design, but it can be viewed that reducing noise at the sequential elements driven by clock signal is contained in the spectrum of reliable circuit design from the clock source down to sequential elements.
