In this paper, a matrix converter with improved low frequency output performance is proposed by achieving a one-step commutation owing to a general commutation circuit applicable to n-phase to m-phase matrix converters. The commutation circuit consists of simple resister and capacitor components, leading to a very stable, reliable and robust operation. Also, it requires no extra sensing information to achieve commutation, allowing for a one-step commutation like a conventional dead time commutation. With the dead time commutation strategy applied, the distortion caused by commutation delay is analyzed and compensated, therefore leading to better output linear behavior. In this paper, detailed commutation procedures of the R-C commutation circuit are analyzed. A selection of specific semiconductor switches and commutation circuit components is also provided. Finally, the effectiveness of the proposed commutation method is verified through a two-phase to single-phase matrix converter and the feasibility of the compensation approach is shown by an open loop space vector modulated three-phase matrix converter with a passive load.
This study investigated the use of grammatical morphemes (substantive morphemes and connective endings) of Korean speaking children with and without language impairment (LI). Participants were two children (ages 5;11 and 6;2) with SLI (specific language impairment), two LD (language delay) children (ages 6;3 and 6;5) with 70-84 range on a performance-IQ test, and two children (ages 5;7 and 6;1) with ND (normal development). Spontaneous language samples were elicited by play activities and story generation. A total of 8,059 (M=I,343, ranged 966-1,659) intelligible and nonimitative utterances were analyzed by the KCLA 2.0 (Korean Computerized Language Analysis 2.0) program for substantive morphemes and connective endings. The findings of this study were as follows; (1) The Korean speaking children with LI including SLI demonstrated less uses of grammatical morphemes than ND children. (2) Few differences were found between LI and ND children in the use of the grammatical morpheme types. (3) LI children produced significantly higher percentage of grammatical morpheme errors in spontaneous speech than ND children. (4) Few differences were found between SLI and LD children in degrees of the use and the error of grammatical morphemes.
Core/shell ($\pm$)PS/(-)silica nanocomposite particles were synthesized by dispersion polymerization using an amphoteric initiator, 2,2'-azobis [N-(2-carboxyethyl)-2,2-methylpropionamidine] ($HOOC(CH_2)_2HN$(HN=) $C(CH_3)_2CN$=NC $(CH_3)_2C$(=NH)NH $(CH_2)_2COOH$), VA-057. Negatively charged (-6.9 mV) silica was used as the stabilizer. The effects of silica addition time and silica and initiator concentrations were investigated in terms of polymerization kinetics, ultimate particle morphology, and size/size distribution. Uniform hybrid microspheres with a well-defined, core-shell structure were obtained at the following conditions: silica content = 10-15 wt% to styrene, VA-057 content=above 2 wt% to styrene and silica addition time=0 min after initiation. The delay in silica addition time retarded the polymerization kinetics and broadened the particle size distribution. The rate of polymerization was strongly affected by the silica content: it increased up to 15 wt% silica but then decreased with further increase in silica content. However, the particle size was only marginally influenced by the silica content. The zeta potential of the composite particles slightly decreased with increasing silica content. With increasing VA-057 concentration, the PS microspheres were entirely coated with silica sol above 1.0 wt% initiator.

A seismic survey for gas hydrate have performed over the East sea by the KIGAM since 1997. General indicator of gas hydrate in seismic data is commonly inferred from the BSR(Bottom Simulating Reflector) that occurred parallel to the sea floor, amplitude decrease at the top of the BSR, amplitude blanking at the bottom of the BSR, decrease of the interval velocity and the reflection phase reversal at the BSR. In this paper we had analyzed optimum parameters of the field data to detect the 9as hydrate. Shot delay correction is applied 95ms, spherical divergence correction is applied velocity library 3, bandpass filter is applied 25-30-115-120Hz deconvolution operator length is applied 60ms, lag is 6ms and accurate velocity analysis NMO correction, stack is performed. Geobit 2.11.0 developed by the KIGAM was used for all data processing. Processing results say that the BSR occurred parallel to the sea floor were shown at 3,150m/s of two way travel time from the sea floor through shot point 5,000-5,610, and identified the interval velocity decrease around BSR and the reflection phase reversal corresponding to the reflection at the sea floor.

A high speed multiplier is essential basic building block for digital signal processors today. Typically iterative algorithms in Signal processing applications are realized which need a large number of multiply, add and accumulate operations. This paper describes a macro block of a parallel structured multiplier which has adopted a 32$\times$32-b regularly structured tree (RST). To improve the speed of the tree part, modified partial product generation method has been devised at architecture level. This reduces the 4 levels of compression stage to 3 levels, and propagation delay in Wallace tree structure by utilizing 4-2 compressor as well. Furthermore, this enables tree part to be combined with four modular block to construct a CSA tree (carry save adder tree). Therefore, combined with four modular block to construct a CSA tree (carry save adder tree). Therefore, multiplier architecture can be regularly laid out with same modules composed of Booth selectors, compressors and Modified Partial Product Generators (MPPG). At the circuit level new Booth selector with less transistors and encoder are proposed. The reduction in the number of transistors in Booth selector has a greater impact on the total transistor count. The transistor count of designed selector is 9 using PTL(Pass Transistor Logic). This reduces the transistor count by 50% as compared with that of the conventional one. The designed multiplier in 0.25${\mu}{\textrm}{m}$ technology, 2.5V, 1-poly and 5-metal CMOS process is simulated by Hspice and Epic. Delay is 4.2㎱ and average power consumes 1.81㎽/MHz. This result is far better than conventional multiplier with equal or better than the best one published.

Globally, due to climate change and urbanization, problems with water cycle destruction in urban areas frequently occur. In order to solve this problem, LID technique is being actively conducted the application in urban and research. In this study, some areas of the new city located in Busan was constructed using a widely used SWMM model to verify the effectiveness of the LID technique. This is to present a plan to maximize the efficiency of urban water cycle of the stormwater management target figure and the LID scale calculation method. In addition, the efficiency of runoff reduction using stormwater storage basin was analyzed in urban development projects. By calculating the scale of customized LID for each sub basin, the amount of runoff and peak runoff after LID application was reduced by 86.8 % and 69.5 %, respectively. Depending on the application of the stormwater storage basin, the reduction effect of peak runoff from 0.5 m3/s to 4.9 m3/s and delay effect of 8 minutes to 10 minutes was shown.
Breast cancer is one of the most feared health problems in women ; Recent studies revealed that it had come up to be the second most in this country and high prevalent disease in the western countries among breast disease in women. However, early detection of the cancer mass is known to be easier than in many other malignancies. This study was performed to investigate the various characteristics of patients of breast cancer ; by the structural variables, menstrual, marital, and child bearing, and also their understandings and attitude towards the disease. A hundred any in- and out- patients of 51. Mary's Hospital and National Atomic Institute, Seoul were sampled. Data were gathered through direct interview by the researcher from February 1976 to January 1977 and the clinical records were used as references. Results are as follows ; 1. Breast cancer revealed to be most prevalent in the forties ; average age of 45.2 years. 2. The average age of menarche revealed to be 15.4 years ; the largest group were the 16-20 years (N=75, 68.2%). In 55 cases (50%) menstruation were normal, 38 (34.5%) postmenopausal and only in 17 (15.5%), menstruation revealed irregularity. 3. The average marital age revealed to be 22.3 years ; the largest group were 21-25 group (N=43, 39.1%). The average duration of marital life revealed to be 24.7 years ; 11-20 years group were the largest (M=34, 30.9%). 4. Objective: We compared appendiceal visualization on 2-mSv CT vs. conventional-dose CT (median 7 mSv) in adolescents and young adults and analyzed the undesirable clinical and diagnostic outcomes that followed appendiceal nonvisualization. Materials and Methods: A total of 3074 patients aged 15-44 years (mean ± standard deviation, 28 ± 9 years; 1672 female) from 20 hospitals were randomized to the 2-mSv CT or conventional-dose CT group (1535 vs. 1539) from December 2013 through August 2016. A total of 161 radiologists from 20 institutions prospectively rated appendiceal visualization (grade 0, not identified; grade 1, unsure or partly visualized; and grade 2, clearly and entirely visualized) and the presence of appendicitis in these patients. The final diagnosis was based on CT imaging and surgical, pathologic, and clinical findings. We analyzed undesirable clinical or diagnostic outcomes, such as negative appendectomy, perforated appendicitis, more extensive than simple appendectomy, delay in patient management, or incorrect CT diagnosis, which followed appendiceal nonvisualization (defined as grade 0 or 1) and compared the outcomes between the two groups. Results: In the 2-mSv CT and conventional-dose CT groups, appendiceal visualization was rated as grade 0 in 41 (2.7%) and 18 (1.2%) patients, respectively; grade 1 in 181 (11.8%) and 81 (5.3%) patients, respectively; and grade 2 in 1304 (85.0%) and 1421 (92.3%) patients, respectively (p < 0.001). Overall, undesirable outcomes were rare in both groups. Compared to the conventional-dose CT group, the 2-mSv CT group had slightly higher rates of perforated appendicitis (1.1% [17] vs. 0.5% [7], p = 0.06) and false-negative diagnoses (0.4% [6] vs. 0.0% [0], p = 0.01) following appendiceal nonvisualization. Otherwise, these two groups were comparable. Conclusion: The use of 2-mSv CT instead of conventional-dose CT impairs appendiceal visualization in more patients. However, appendiceal nonvisualization on 2-mSv CT rarely leads to undesirable clinical or diagnostic outcomes.
Purpose: Regional contractility can be calculated using the regional volume change of left ventricle measured by gated myocardial SPECT image and curve of central artery pressure obtained from radial artery pressure data. In this study, a program to obtain the regional contractility was developed, and reproducibility of regional contractility measurement was assessed. Materials and Methods: Seven patients(male:female=5:2, $58{\pm}11.9$ years) with coronary artery diseases underwent gated Tc-99m MIBI myocardial SPECT twice without delay between two scans. Regional volume change of left ventricle was estimated using CSA (Cardiac SPECT Analyzer) software developed in this study. Regional contractility was iteratively estimated from the time-elastance curve obtained using the time-pressure curve and regional time-volume curve. Reproducibility of regional contractility measurement assessed by comparing the contractility values measured twice from the same SPECT data and by comparing those measured from the pair of SPECT data obtained from a same patient. Results: Measured regional contractility was $3.36{\pm}3.38{mm}Hg/mL$ using 15-segment model, $3.16{\pm}2.25{mm}Hg/mL$ using 7-segment model, and $3.11{\pm}2.57{mm}Hg/mL$ using 5-segment model. The harmonic average of regional contractility value was almost identical to the global contractility. Correlation coefficient of regional contractility values measured twice from the same data was greater than 0.97 for all models, and two standard deviations of contractility difference on Bland Altman plot were 1.5%, 1.0%, and 0.9% for 15-, 7-, and 5-segment models, respectively. Correlation coefficient of regional contractility values measured from the pair of SPECT data obtained from a same patient was greater than 0.95 for all models, and two standard deviations on Bland Altman plot were 2.2%, 1.0%, and 1.2%. Conclusion: Regional contractility of left ventricle measured using developed software in this study was reproducible. Regional contractility of left ventricle will be a new useful index for myocardial function after analysis of the clinical data.
Objectives. The objectives of this study were: 1) to compare the effect of varying timing of light curing on shear bond strength, and; 2) to compare the shear bond strength of three self-adhesive cements. Materials and methods. A total of 72 extracted non-carious teeth were divided into 24 for Unicem tests, 24 for Maxcem tests, and 24 for Biscem tests; they were assigned 3 * 2 subgroups of 12 teeth each. The specimens were prepared as follows: 1) The calculus and periodontal ligament were removed from the teeth; 2) The teeth were stored in normal saline; 3) The occlusal enamel of each tooth was removed using high-speed coarse diamond burs under water cooling, and; 4) Finally, the teeth were flattened by 600-grit silicone carbide paper disks. Resin blocks were adhered using either Unicem, Maxcem, or Biscem. Light curing timing was divided into two groups: U10, M10, and B10 were exposed to light after 10 seconds, and; U150, M150, and B150 on the other side were exposed to light after 150 seconds. Shear bond strength was measured by a Universal testing machine with cross head speed of 1mm/min. T-test and One way ANOVA were used for the statistical analysis of data. Results. The shear bond strength of U150 was not significantly higher than that of U10 (U150: 20.55.7Mpa, U10: 18.73.80Mpa). On the other hand, the shear bond strength of M150 was significantly higher than that of M10. The shear bond strength of B150 was also significantly higher than that of B10 (M150:14.45.7Mpa, M10: 9.94.2Mpa, B150: 24.38.3Mpa, B10: 17.27.3Mpa). When the light curing timing was 10sec after bonding, the shear bond strength of Unicem was highest; the shear bond strength of Biscem was highest when the light curing timing was 150sec after bonding (U10: 18.73.80Mpa, B150: 24.38.3Mpa). Significance. Since Unicem is less sensitive based on light curing timing, dentists seem to use it without considering the light curing timing. Maxcem showed the lowest bonding strength (especially M10). Thus, when using Maxcem, dentists need to delay the light curing after adhesion.
