A Study on Power Generation Efficiency through the Post Evaluation of Photovoltaic Panels in Complex Type Buildings - Focused on Annual Generation Performance of S-university - (단지형 건물군 내 태양광 패널의 사후 평가를 통한 발전 효율 연구 - S대학의 연간 발전 실적을 중심으로 -)

  • The purpose of this study is to analyze the efficiency of PV according to installation condition in the complex type buildings. For this purpose, annual performance of solar power generation in a certain area was investigated and various methods were conducted including post operation evaluation. In addition, we tried to find out influencing factors that affect the efficiency and sought to identify their relative impact of degree through the data analysis and site visits together. In the middle of this process we can draw up major considerations for the efficient photovoltaic power generation installation. In the mean while, previous studies are making something new related with method for efficiency enhancement and individual influential factors based on experimental environment rather than the empirical data site based. As a result of the study, it was confirmed that even if installed in the same area, the power generation efficiency is 1.5 times as high as the installation condition. Furthermore, statistical analyses were performed on azimuth, tilted angle and shade, which are variables affecting conversion efficiency, and it was statistically confirmed that all variables are meaningful factors that affect the conversion efficiency which is a dependent variable. The most influential factor is the azimuth, followed by the tilted angle and the shade factor. From this result, we expect to be able to provide installation guidelines for the solar power generation equipments on the rooftop zone.

Application of next generation sequencing (NGS) system for whole-genome sequencing of porcine reproductive and respiratory syndrome virus (PRRSV) (돼지생식기호흡기증후군바이러스(PRRSV)의 전장 유전체 염기서열(whole-genome sequencing) 분석을 위한 차세대 염기서열 분석법의 활용)

  • In the present study, fast and robust methods for the next generation sequencing (NGS) were developed for analysis of PRRSV full genome sequences, which is a positive sensed RNA virus with a high degree of genetic variability among isolates. Two strains of PRRSVs (VR2332 and VR2332-R) which have been maintained in our laboratory were used to validate our methods and to compare with the sequence registered in GenBank (GenBank accession no. EF536003). The results suggested that both of strains had 100% coverage with the reference; the VR2332 had the coverage depth from minimum 3 to maximum 23,012, for the VR2332-R from minimum 3 to maximum 41,348, and 22,712 as an average depth. Genomic data produced from the massive sequencing capacities of the NGS have enabled the study of PRRSV at an unprecedented rate and details. Unlike conventional sequence methods which require the knowledge of conserved regions, the NGS allows de novo assembly of the full viral genomes. Therefore, our results suggested that these methods using the NGS massively facilitate the generation of more full genome PRRSV sequences locally as well as nationally in regard of saving time and cost.

Effect of BA and Physical Treatment on Axillary Bud Emergence of Hosta spp. (옥잠화(Hosta)속 식물의 액아 발생에 미치는 BA 및 물리적 처리의 효과)

  • This study was conducted to investigate the effects of BA, a growth regulator on enhancing propagation efficiency, and physical treatment on promotion of axillary bud generation in three hosta cultivars, 'Ellerbroek', 'Francee', and 'Halcyon'. These are cultivars suitable for cut foliage production among Hosta spp. because of their diverse leaf patterns and long vase life of cut foliage. The degree of axillary bud generation by treatment time and concentration of BA has not been proven to be extraordinarily effective as compared to not treated control. As a physical treatment, base wounding was more effective than stem cutting. In 'Ellerbroek', increase of axillary bud generation among treatment methods was not great. However, in 'Halcyon', base wounding had four more axillary buds per plant than not treated control. In addition, although number of axillary buds increased per plant by BA treatment and stem cutting was 2 and 1.8, respectively, it was 6.1 by base wounding, indicating the greatest effect on promotion of axillary bud generation among all treatments.

Thermal changes during implant site preparation with a digital surgical guide and slot design drill: an ex vivo study using a bovine rib model

  • Purpose: In this study, we aimed to evaluate the degree of heat generation when a novel drill design with an irrigation slot was used with metal sleeve-free (MF) and metal sleeve-incorporated (MI) surgical guides in an environment similar to that of the actual oral cavity. Methods: A typodont with a missing mandibular right first molar and 21 bovine rib blocks were used. Three-dimensional-printed MF and MI surgical guides, designed for the placement of internal tapered implant fixtures, were used with slot and non-slot drills. The following groups were compared: group 1, MI surgical guide with slot drill; group 2, MI surgical guide with a non-slot drill; and group 3, MF surgical guide with a slot drill. A constant-temperature water bath at 36℃ was used. The drilling was performed in 6 stages, and the initial, highest, and lowest temperatures of the cortical bone were measured at each stage using a non-contact infrared thermometer. Results: There were no temperature increases above the initial temperature in any drilling procedure. The only significant difference between the non-slot and slot groups was observed with the use of the first drill in the MI group, with a higher temperature in the non-slot group (P=0.012). When the heat generation during the first and the second drilling was compared in the non-slot group, the heat generation during the first drilling was significantly higher (P<0.001), and there was no significant difference in heat generation between the drills in the slot group. Conclusions: Within the limitations of this study, implant-site preparation with the surgical guide showed no critical increase in the temperature of the cortical bone, regardless of whether there was a slot in the drill. In particular, the slotted drill had a cooling effect during the initial drilling.

  • In this study, the effects of membrane characteristics on the power generation performance in reverse electrodialysis (RED) have been investigated with pore-filled ion-exchange membranes (PFIEMs) prepared by employing a porous polyethylene substrate and the mixtures of three cross-linking agents. As a result, it was confirmed through the correlation analyses that the cross-linking degree and free volume of the PFIEMs were effectively controlled by mixing the cross-linking agents having different molecular sizes, influencing complexly the electrochemical characteristics of the membranes and the power generation performance in RED. In particular, the pore-filled cation-exchange membranes at the optimum cross-linking conditions exhibited the power generation performance superior to that of the commercial membranes and the pore-filled anion-exchange membranes also showed the excellent performance close to that of the commercial membrane.

Evaluation of Runoff Prediction from a Coniferous Forest Watersheds and Runoff Estimation under Various Cover Degree Scenarios using GeoWEPP Watershed Model (GeoWEPP을 이용한 침엽수림 지역 유출특성 예측 및 다양한 식생 피도에 따른 유출량 평가)

  • To control non-point source pollution at a watershed scale, rainfall-runoff characteristics from forest watersheds should be investigated since the forest is the dominant land use in Korea. Long-term monitoring would be an ideal method. However, computer models have been utilized due to limitations in cost and labor in performing long-term monitoring at the watersheds. In this study, the Geo-spatial interface to the Water Erosion Prediction Project (GeoWEPP) model was evaluated for its runoff prediction from a coniferous forest dominant watersheds. The $R^2$ and the NSE for calibrated result comparisons were 0.77 and 0.63, validated result comparisons were 0.92, 0.89, respectively. These comparisons indicated that the GeoWEPP model can be used in evaluating rainfall-runoff characteristics. To estimate runoff changes from a coniferous forest watershed with various cover degree scenarios, ten cover degree scenarios (10%, 20%, 30%, 40%, 50%, 60%, 70%, 80%, 90%, 100%) were run using the calibrated GeoWEPP model. It was found that runoff increases with decrease in cover degree. Runoff volume was the highest ($206,218.66m^3$) at 10% cover degree, whereas the lowest ($134,074.58m^3$) at 100% cover degree due to changes in evapotranspiration under various cover degrees at the forest. As shown in this study, GeoWEPP model could be efficiently used to investigate runoff characteristics from the coniferous forest watershed and effects of various cover degree scenarios on runoff generation.

Pattern and Instance Generation for Self-knowledge Learning in Korean (한국어 자가 지식 학습을 위한 패턴 및 인스턴스 생성)

  • There are various researches which proposed an automatic instance generation from freetext on the web. Existing researches that focused on English, adopts pattern representation which is generated by simple rules and regular expression. These simple patterns achieves high performance, but it is not suitable in Korean due to differences of characteristics between Korean and English. Thus, this paper proposes a novel method for generating patterns and instances which focuses on Korean. A proposed method generates high quality patterns by taking advantages of dependency relations in a target sentences. In addition, a proposed method overcome restrictions from high degree of freedom of word order in Korean by utilizing postposition and it identifies a subject and an object more reliably. In experiment results, a proposed method shows higher precision than baseline and it is implies that proposed approache is suitable for self-knowledge learning system.

  • This study aims to show why we have to introduce SOA paradigm in the Cadastral Information System for coping with domestic and foreign IT environments flexibly and strengthening inner capability. We search the trend of up-to-date IT paradigm such as Enterprise GIS, SOA and etc. from this, we worked out the concept of Cadastral Information System. we also could see the introduction case of the domestic and foreign next generation Cadastral Information System, there is implications for us. also, we analysis the general condition about information system which KCSC(Korea Cadastral Survey Corporation) own in a general way and estimate the SOA level degree for each information system. and on that base, we set up SOA loadmap for implementation the next generation of Cadastral Information Service. This is an important step for building ideal future information systems which KCSC hope to be. For realizing this, we focus our inner capability on integration without duplicate and re-using the inner information infra.

Study on Classification Algorithm based on Weight of Support and Confidence Degree (지지도와 신뢰도의 가중치에 기반한 분류알고리즘에 관한 연구)

  • Most of any existing classification algorithm in data mining area have focused on goals improving efficiency, which is to generate decision tree more rapidly by utilizing just less computing resources. In this paper, we focused on the efficiency as well as effectiveness that is able to generate more meaningful classification rules in application area, which might consist of the ontology automatic generation, business environment and so on. For this, we proposed not only novel function with the weight of support and confidence degree but also analyzed the characteristics of the weighted function in theoretical viewpoint. Furthermore, we proposed novel classification algorithm based on the weighted function and the characteristics. In the result of evaluating the proposed algorithm, we could perceive that the novel algorithm generates more classification rules with significance more rapidly.

A STUDY ON THE SOLUBILITY AND THE WATER SORPTION OF VARIOUS RESIN CEMENTS (수종의 레진 시멘트의 용해도와 수분흡착에 관한 연구)

  • Statement of problem. Among the physical properties of adhesion luting cement, the aspect that requires the most important factor is the degree of solubility and water sorption. Dissolution or an inadequate due to excessive water sorption inside the oral cavity compromises the while concurrently increasing the susceptibility to secondary dental caries. Susceptibility to dissolution and difficulty of removing remnant cement from the gingival sulcus have hindered the use of dental resin cement in the clinical practice, but the improved characteristics of newer generation resin cements have interest in and enabled resin cements to be widely used in adhesion of fixed prosthesis, such as laminate veneers and all-ceramic crowns. Purpose. The purpose of this study is to compare and analyze the degrees of solubility and water sorption of a variety of resin cements widely used for clinical purposes with different curing methods. Material and methods. Self-curing resin cements, $Avanto^{(R)}$, $C&B^{TM}$ CEMENT and Superbond C&B cements comprised group 1, 2 and 3. The dual-curing resin cements $Panavian^{TM}$ F, $Calibra^{(R)}$ and $Variolink^{(R)}$ II were divided into groups 4, 5, and 6, respectively. The investigation was carried out using disc-shaped specimens as specified by ANSI/ADA Specification No. 27. The degree of water sorption, water solubility and lactic acid solubility of each test group was analyzed statistically leading to the following conclusion. Results. The degree of water sorption was shown to increase in the following order : group 6, 5, 4, 2, 1 and 3. There were significant differences between the water sorption of each group. Results of the degree of water solubility were shown to increase in the following order : group 6, 5, 4, 2, 1 and 3. Statistically significant differences were found between each group, with the exception of groups 1 and 3. Finally, the degree of lactic acid solubility was found to increase in the following order : group 6,5,4,2,3 and 1. Significant differences were found between each group. In general dual-curing resin cements displayed substantially lower values than self-curing resin cements with regard to water sorption, water solubility, and lactic acid solubility. Conclusions. From the results of this study, dual-curing resin cements show a significantly lower degree of water sorption and solubility than their self-curing counterparts. Clinically, when selecting resin cements, the product with a lower degree of water sorption and solubility are preferred. The results of this study indicate that the use-of dual-curing resin cements is preferable to self-curing cements.
