The Characteristics on the Accelerated Degradation of Bi-based Varistor fabricated with ZnO Nano-powder (ZnO 나노파우더로 제조된 Bi계 바리스터의 가속열화 특성)

  • Nano-Varistors fabricated with ZnO 30nm and 80nm powders were studied about the electrical characteristics with AC accelerated degradation in this paper Especially, ZnO nano-powder varistors were sintered m air at $1050^{\circ}C$ and analyzed the phenomenons of before and after AC degradation test. The stress conditions of AC degradation test were $1.0V_{1mA}$ $115{\pm}2^{\circ}C$ for 24h. 80nm-varistor was exhibited better performance than 30nm-varistor m the electrical stabilities. And then 80nm-varistor resulted m the degradation characteristics that the variation rate of operating voltage, nonlinear coefficient and leakage current was -0 3%, -0 4% and -3 3%, respectively.

  • The conventional tracking testing as IEC-60587 is widely used in surface aging measurement of outdoor insulator because those testing can carry out very short time in Lab-testing. Also IEC-60587 testing is able to offer the standard judgement of relative degradation level of outdoor HV machine/system. Therefore it is very useful method compare to previous conventional tracking testing method and effective Lab-testing method. But surface discharges(SD) have very complex characteristics of discharge pattern so it is required estimation research to development of precise analysis method. In recent, the study of IRR-camera is carrying out discover of temperature of power equipment through condition diagnosis and system development of degradation diagnosis. In this study, SD occurred from procelain insulator, used 22.9[KV] distribution, is measured with partial temperature distribution in real time, the degradation grade of SD is analyzed through produced patterns in SD concentration according to applied time.

Sliding Wear Behavior of UHMWPE against Novel Low Temperature Degradation-Free Zirconia/Alumina Composite

  • The sliding wear behavior of ultra high molecular weight polyethylene (UHMWPE) was examined on a novel low temperature degradation-free zirconia/alumina composite material and conventional alumina and zirconia ceramics used for femoral head in total hip joint replacement. The wear of UHMWPE pins against these ceramic disks was evaluated by performing linear reciprocal sliding and repeat pass rotational sliding tests for one million cycles in bovine serum. The weight loss of polyethylene against the novel low temperature degradation-free zirconia/alumina composite disks was much less than those against conventional ceramics for all tests. The mean weight loss of the polyethylene pins was more io the linear reciprocal sliding test than in the repeal pass rotational sliding lest for all kinds of disk materials. Neither the coherent transfer film nor the surface damage was observed on the surface of the novel zirconia/alumina composite disks during the test. The observed r,'stilts indicated that the wear of the polyethylene was closely related to contacting materials and kinematic motions. In conclusion, the novel zirconia/alumina composite leads the least wear of polyethylene among the tested ceramics and demonstrates the potential as lhe alternative materials for femoral head in total hip joint replacement.

  • This paper describes the properties of between the residual voltage for ${\gamma}$-irradiated in electric power cable using in nuclear power generating station. As these properties related with ${\gamma}$-irradiation dose, it is suggested that these properties can be utilized as a index of irradiation degradation. From theory and experiment We found the residual voltage is not influenced by cable length. We found that residual voltage of basic composite and practical composite have not a difference an occasion be the same cable length. As the ratio of degradation increases, the residual voltage in the initial time range increases and the peak moves to the shorter time. Therefore, We can know the degree of radiation degradation from the position of the peak.

A Study on Microbial Degradation for Removal of Toluene Vapour by Biofilter (Bio 필터를 이용한 Toluene 제거에서 미생물분해에 관한 연구)

  • A biological filter for treatment of toluene among volatile organic compounds was studied. The investigation was conducted using specially built stainless steel columns packed with granular activated carbon and cold for removal of toluene. The G.A. and mold as filter material was also coated with Pseudomonas putida microorganisms.The biofilter unit was operated in the condition of moisture content vairation at gas loading rate of 12.5 l/min. Gaseous toluene taken from tedlar bag was analyzed by the use of G.C equipped with F.I.d detector. The removal efficiency of gaseous toluene was 95% at average inlet concentration of 950 ppm during bio-degradation operating condition. Effective removal efficiency was obtained with moisture content 27.5% at activated carbon and 32% at mold in this study. The effective operating condition were obtained with pH 6-8, temperature 28-42℃ for microbial degradation at gas loading rate of 12.5 l/min in packed material.

  • The destructive method is reliable and widely used for the estimation of material degradation but it have time-consuming and a great difficulty in preparing specimens from in-service industrial facilities. Therefore, the estimation of degraded structural materials used at high temperature by nondestructive evaluation such as electric resistance method, replica method, Barkhausen noise method, electro-chemical method and ultrasonic method are strongly desired. In this study, various nondestructive evaluation(NDE) parameters of the Barkhausen noise method, such as MPA(Maximum Peak Amplitude), RMS, IABNS(Internal Area of Barkhausen Noise on Signal) and average amplitude of frequency spectrum are investigated and correlated with thermal damage level of 2.25cr-1.0Mo steel using wavelet analysis. Those parameters tend to increase while thermal degradation proceeds. It also turns out that the wavelet technique can help to reduce experimental false call in data analysis.

  • This paper describes the properties of discharge current and the residual voltage for $^{60}$ C$_{0}$ -${\gamma}$ irradiated cables using in nuclear power generating station.   • The hot carried degradation in a metal oxide semiconductor device has been one of the most serious concerns for MOS-ULSI. In this paper, three types of LDD(lightly doped drain) structure for suppression of hot carried degradation, such as decreasing of performance due to spacer-induced degradation and increase of series resistance will be investigated. in this study, LDD-nMOSFETs used had three different drain structure, (1) conventional surface type LDD(SL), (2) Buried type LDD(BL), (3) Surface implantation type LDD(SI). As experimental results, the surface implantation the LDD structure showed that improved hot carrier lifetime to comparison with conventional surface and buried type LDD structures.

  • Radiation degradation of Poly(ether ether ketone) (PEEK) has been studied by dielectric analysis and dynamic mechanical analysis. It has been observed that dielectric properties are influenced by radiation degradation of PEEK. For radiation degradation of PEEK, dynamic mechanical properties were insensible.
