반응성구조체의 고속충돌에 따른 온도분포 분석 (Analysis on Temperature Profiles upon High Speed Impact of Reactive Structural Materials)

  • The temperature profiles upon high speed impact of reactive structural materials were analyzed. A two color pyrometer, which included high-speed camera, spectral splitter, and band pass filters, was utilized to measure transient temperature profiles during and after reactive metal samples impacted into steel plate with velocities of 1600~1700 m/s. The spatial temperature distribution was analyzed from the ratio of spectral radiances at two different wavelength in infrared zone, i.e. 700 and 900 nm. The measured temperatures were calibrated with black body source. Two different types of metal samples, namely aluminum and nickel, were employed to understand reaction behavior upon the impact of samples in ambient condition. According to our experiments, the Ni sample appeared to barely react with ambient air producing an instant small fireball, while Al sample reacts violently with air generating a relatively prolong fireball.

  • A crush switch assembly(CSA) connected to an impact fuze provides electrical signal for detonation of the loaded main charge when an impact with the target is detected. Because the CSA experiences continuous changes in flight environment such as changes in velocity, vibration, and stresses, it is necessary to accurately predict the behavior of the fuze to maintain functionality during flight and to detonate when necessary. In this paper, random vibration analysis for flight environment and impact analysis on target hit are performed using FEA. Then, high speed impact tests are performed with the original and scaled down models to ensure operation validation of the manufactured products. The test results are then compared with M&S results to verify the capability of currently modeled CSA.

OneSAF를 이용한 원격조종 지상무인차량 체계효과분석 방법 (A Method of System Effectiveness Analysis for Remote-Operated Unmanned Ground Vehicles Using OneSAF)

  • Nowadays unmanned ground systems are used in supporting of surveillance and explosive ordnance disposal. Also, we expect that will be used to remarkably enhance combat capability through network-based cooperative operations with other combat systems. In order to effectively develop those unmanned systems, we needs a systematic method to analyze combat effectiveness and validate required operation capabilities. In this paper, we propose a practical approach to simulate remote-operated unmanned ground systems by using OneSAF, an US-Army simulation framework. First of all, we design a simulation model of unmanned system by integrating with core components for wireless communications and remote control of mobility and fire. Next, we extend OneSAF functionality to create communication links that connects a remote controller with an unmanned vehicle and define a simulated behavior to operate unmanned vehicles via the communication links. Finally, we demonstrate the feasibility of the proposed model within OneSAF and summarize system effectiveness analysis results.

  • 붕소-질산칼륨($BKNO_3$)의 열분해특성을 비등온방식의 TGA(열중량분석법)를 사용하여 평가하였다. 상온과 $600^{\circ}C$의 온도범위에서 2단계에 걸쳐 질량감소가 발생하는 것이 관찰되었다. 열분해특성에 대한 속도론적 파라메타값들은 TGA로부터의 데이터를 AKTS Thermokinetics 소프트웨어를 사용하여 분석되었다. $200^{\circ}C$에서 $360^{\circ}C$의 온도범위에서 발생하는 1차 무게감소는 바인더 (Laminac/Lupersol)의 열분해에 해당하며, Friedman의 등전환법으로 분석되는 경우 활성화에너지는 120에서 270 kJ/mol 사이의 값을 가진 반면에 2차감소 영역($360-550^{\circ}C$)에서의 활성화에너지 값은 150에서 400 kJ/mol의 범위 내에 있었다.

  • We investigated the viscosity behavior and the carbon yield of coal tar pitch (CTP) treated with iodine. The viscosity of iodine treated pitch showed that the fluidity of iodine treated CTP did not increase within the iodine addition of 1.4%. DTG analysis showed that cross linking was accelerated at the temperature range from $400\;to\;500{^{\circ}C}$ with iodine treatment, which is due to the accelerated dehydrogenative reaction by iodine. The iodine treatment was mainly effective for β-resin content increase of CTP. The carbon yield of CTP increased from 40 to 60% by the iodine non-treated CTP.

  • In this study, microstructural evaluation was carried out on secondary hardening type ultrahigh strength steel, Fe-Co-Ni composition. This paper as a first part of whole research presented the microstructural behavior by cyclic heat treatment. The cyclic heat treatment method includes normalizing, stress relieving, solution treatment and aging. Especially, solution treatments performed triple times to get maximized solution hardening. Phase transformation and microstructure were observed by using optical microscope (OM), Electron back-scattered diffraction (EBSD) and X-ray stress analyzer. During the triple solution treatment, size of grain boundary was dramatically decreased by generating a packet from the martensite transformation of residual austenite in the inner part of grain, whereas the hardness increase was not significant.

에너제틱 응용을 위한 Ni코팅된 Al분말소재 제조 및 산화거동 (Fabrication and Oxidation Behaviors of Nickel-coated Aluminum Powders for Energetic Applications)

  • In this study, nickel-coated aluminum (Ni/Al) powders were synthesized for the utilization of energetic applications. Oxide materials present at the surface of Al powders of $45{\mu}m$ in averaged size were removed by using sodium hydroxide(NaOH) solution which is used for controlling pH. Nickel material is coated into the surface of oxide-removed Al powders by electroless-plating process. The microstructure of fabricated Ni/Al powders shows that nickel layers with a few hundreds nm were very homogeneously formed onto the surface of Al powders. The oxidation behavior of Ni/Al exihibit somewhat faster oxidation rate than that of pure Al with surface oxidation. Also, the higher exothermic reaction was observed from the Ni/Al powders. From the result of this, nickel coating is very promising method to obtain highly reactive and safe Al powders for energetic applications.

상륙돌격장갑차의 진수 중 동적 거동 수치 해석 (Numerical Analysis on Dynamic Behavior Characteristics of an Amphibious Assault Vehicle during Water Entry)

  • In the present study, the dynamic behavior characteristics of an amphibious assault vehicle during water entry were analyzed using STAR-CCM+, a commercial computational fluid dynamics(CFD) code. All computations were performed using an overset mesh system and a RANS based flow-solver coupled with dynamic fluid-body interaction(DFBI) solver for simulating three degrees of freedom motion. For numerical validation of the solver, a water entry simulation of inclined circular cylinder was conducted and it was compared between an existing experiment data and CFD results. The pitch angle variation and the trajectory of the circular cylinder during water entry shows good agreement with previous experimental and numerical studies. For the water entry simulations of the amphibious assault vehicle, the analysis of dynamic behaviors of the amphibious assault vehicle with different slope angles, submerged depths and initial velocities were conducted. It is confirmed that the steep slope angle increases the submerged volume of the amphibious assault vehicle, so the buoyancy acting on the vehicle is increased and the moved distance for the re-flotation is decreased. It is also revealed that the submerged volume is increased, bow-up phenomenon occur earlier.

DIC를 이용한 입자강화 복합재료의 파괴거동 평가 (Evaluation of Fracture Behavior on Particle Reinforced Composite Using Digital Image Correlation)

  • 본 연구에서는 입자강화 복합재료의 파괴거동을 평가하기 위해 쐐기분열시험을 수행하였다. 균열 저항성을 분석하기 위해 균열선단열림변위(CTOD)와 균열선단열림각도(CTOA)를 이용하였다. 사용된 입자강화 복합재료는 특성상 온도와 하중속도에 영향을 많이 받기 때문에 다양한 온도($-60^{\circ}C{\sim}50^{\circ}C$)와 하중속도(5~500mm/min)조건에서 시험을 수행하였다. 또한 균열선단에 대한 변형률장을 분석하기 위해 디지털 이미지 상관법(DIC)을 이용하였다. 시험결과 파괴에너지는 온도가 감소할수록 증가하였으며, 하중속도가 증가할수록 균열저항성이 증가하였다.

전산화 단층촬영에 의한 오링 변형 거동 분석 (Analysis of the O-Ring Deformation Behavior by the Computed Tomography)

  • 본 연구는 내압과 압축이 동시에 작용하는 오링의 변형 거동을 측정하기 위한 시험 기법을 개발하기 위함이다. 오링변형측정치구는 고압에서도 변형되지 않으며 오링변형측정치구 내의 두 곳에 홈을 파서 각각의 홈 안에 오링을 장착하도록 설계하였고 내압에 의한 오링의 압출 길이를 측정하기 위해 1 mm 및 0.1 mm의 압출 틈을 제작하였다. 오링의 변형 형상을 정확히 측정하기 위하여 선속경화현상 보정, 히스토그램 분석 및 불감대 영역 보정을 실시하였으며, 계면반응함수와 선확산함수를 이용하여 오링의 변형 길이를 측정하였다. 전산화 단층촬영은 22.3%의 압착상태에서 0, 1.378, 4.902, 9.804, 15.692 MPa의 압력을 가하여 실시하였으며, 각각의 압력에서 오링의 확장 지름, 접촉 길이 및 압출 길이를 측정하였다. 전산화 단층촬영의 측정 결과를 검증하기 위하여 유한요소법으로 오링의 변형 형상을 해석하였고, 수치해석법으로 실제 오링의 면적과 전산화 단층촬영에서 얻은 오링의 면적을 상호 비교하였다.
