EFFICIENT PARAMETERS OF DECOUPLED DUAL SINGULAR FUNCTION METHOD

  • The solution of the interface problem or Poisson problem with concave corner has singular perturbation at the interface corners or singular corners. The decoupled dual singular function method (DDSFM) which exploits the singular representations of the solutions was suggested in [3, 9] and estimated optimal accuracy in [10]. The convergence rates consist with theoretical results even for the problems with very strong singularity, with the efficiency depending on parameters used in the methods. Furthermore the errors in $L^2$ and $L^\infty$-spaces display some oscillation, in the cases with meshsize not small enough. In this paper, we present an answer to remove the oscillation via numerical experiments. We observe the effects of parameters in DDSFM, and show the consisting efficiency of the method over the strong singularity.

  • Internal Force based control of dual redundant manipulator is proposed. One is resolved acceleration type control in the decoupled joint space which includes null motion space and the other is in the impedance control fashion in which the desired impedances are decoupled in three subspace, internal motion controlled space, orthogonal to that space, and the null motion controlled space. The internal force is formulated with its basis set meaningful. The object dynamics is also briefly evolved beforehand.

  • This paper proposes an anti-swing control law for a 2 degrees of freedom overhead crane. The dynamic model of a 2 degrees of freedom crane is highly nonlinear and coupled. The model is linearized and decoupled for each degree of freedom of the crane for small motions of the load about the vertical. Then a decoupled anti-swing control law is designed for each degree of freedom of the crane based on the linearized model. The control law consists of a position control loop and an swing angle control loop. The position loop,. is designed based on the loop shaping method and the swing angle loop is designed via the root locus method. Finally, the proposed anti-swing control law is implemented and evaluated on a 2 degrees of freedom prototype crane.

  • 인터넷에서 서비스 품질을 제공하기 위해 대역폭에 대한 스케줄링 기술은 중요한요소 중 하나로서 많은 알고리즘이 개발되었다. 그러나 기존의 스케쥴링 알고리즘은 잉여 대역폭 분배에 있어 융통성을 제공하고 있지 않다. 이를 보완하여 잉여 대역폭 분배에 융통성을 제공하기 위해 DGPS(decoupled generalized processor sharing)가 제안되었지만/sup 〔1〕구현이 복잡하고 기존의 다양한 알고리즘에 쉽게 적용하기에는 어려움이 따랐다. 본 논문에서는 잉여 대역폭 분배의 융통성을 제공하고 동시에 DGPS의 문제점을 개선하여 기존의 기반 알고리즘에 자연스럽게 적용할 수 있는 스케쥴링 알고리즘을 제안하고 공평성을 분석하였다. 또한 시뮬레이션을 통해 성능을 검증하였다.

폐회로 제어시스템의 강인한 고장진단 및 고장허용제어 기법 연구 (A Study on the robust fault diagnosis and fault tolerant control method for the closed-loop control systems)

  • This paper presents a robust fault diagnosis and fault tolerant control method for the control systems in closed-loop affected by unknown inputs or disturbances. The fault diagnostic scheme is based on the disturbance-decoupled state estimation using a 2-stage state observer for state, actuator bias and sensor bias. The estimated bias show the occurrence time, location and type of the faults directly. The estimated state is used for state feedback to achieve fault tolerant control against the faults. Simulation results show that the method has definite fault tolerant ability against actuator and sensor faults, moreover, the faults can be detected on-line, isolated and estimated simultaneously.

  • In induction motor control, power efficiency as well as high dynamic performance is important. We attempt to achieve both of them by decoupled control of rotor speed and flux. A nonlinear feedback controller with a well-known rotor flux observer is proposed with its stability analysis. Experimental results demonstrate that the proposed control method based on recently developed nonlinear feedback control theory is of practical use.

  • In this paper, decoupled course, depth and roll controller design for an Autonomous Underwater Vehicle (AUV) and its performance test results are presented. Control system design is done using the PD control scheme based on a mathematical model of the AUV. Details of system implementation are given and the results of simulations and experiments using the prototype vehicle model are discussed. The designed controller was successfully applied to the nonlinear and coupled system under non-ideal actuator conditions.

  • Due to rapid progress in the performance of high-end computers, numerical prediction of fluid flow and flow-induced sound is expected to become a vital tool for aero- and hydro- dynamic design of various flow-related products. This presentation focuses on the applications of large-scale numerical simulations to complex engineering problems with a particular emphasis placed on the low-speed flows. Flow field computations are based on a large eddy simulation that directly computes all active eddies in the flow and models only those eddies responsible for energy dissipations. The sound generated from low-speed turbulent flows are computed either by direct numerical simulation or by decoupled methods, according to whether or not the feedback effects of the generated sound onto the source flow field can be neglected. Several numerical examples are presented in order to elucidate the present status of such computational methods and discussion on the future prospects will also be given.

강건성을 고려한 연성설계의 최적화 방법 (Optimization Method for a Coupled Design, Considering Robustness)

  • Current trend of design technologies shows engineers to objectify or automate the given decision-making process. The numerical optimization is an example of such technologies. However, in numerical optimization, the uncertainties are uncontrollable to efficiently objectify or automate the process. To better manage these uncertainties, Taguchi method, reliability-based optimization and robust optimization are being used. Based on the independence axiom of axiomatic design theory that illustrates the relationship between desired specifications and design parameters, the designs can be classified into three types: uncoupled, decoupled and coupled. To best approach the target performance with the maximum robustness is one of the main functional requirements of a mechanical system. Most engineering designs are pertaining to either coupled or decoupled ones, but these designs cannot currently accomplish a real robustness thus a trade-off between performance and robustness has to be made. In this research, the game theory will be applied to optimize the trade-off.

  • This paper is devoted to two new techniques for free vibration analysis of concrete arch dam-reservoir systems. The proposed schemes are quadratic ideal-coupled eigen-problems, which can solve the originally non-symmetric eigen-problem of the system. To find the natural frequencies and mode shapes, a new special-purpose eigen-value solution routine is developed. Moreover, the accuracy of the proposed approach is thoroughly assessed, and it is confirmed that the new scheme is very accurate under all practical conditions. It is also concluded that both decoupled and ideal-coupled strategy proposed in the previous works can be considered as special cases of the current more general procedure.
