  • A hierarchical approach for fast bi-dimensional empirical mode decomposition (B-EMD) is proposed. The presented approach utilizes an efficient window size determination scheme that enables the multi-level computation of the order statistics filter (OSF). Our detailed experiments show that the proposed OSF computation approach allows a significantly faster computation of an EMD without degrading the decomposition accuracy.

  • Breakthrough of high Weisenberg number problem is related with keeping the positive definiteness of the conformation tensor in numerical procedures. In this paper, we suggest a simple method to preserve the positive definiteness by use of vector decomposition of the conformation tensor which does not require eigenvalue problem. We also derive the constitutive equation of tensor-logarithmic transform in simpler way than that of Fattal and Kupferman and discuss the comparison between the vector decomposition and tensor-logarithmic transformation.

  • We present a domain decomposition algorithm for solving large sparse linear systems of equations arising from queuing networks. Such techniques are attractive since the problems in subdomains can be solved independently by parallel processors. Many of the methods proposed so far use some form of the preconditioned conjugate gradient method to deal with one large interface problem between subdomains. However, in this paper, we propose a "nested" domain decomposition method where the subsystems governing the interfaces are small enough so that they are easily solvable by direct methods on machines with many parallel processors. Convergence of the algorithms is also shown.lso shown.

  • 본 논문에서는 WT(Wavelet Transform)와 SVD(Singular Value Decomposition)를 함께 사용한 WSVD(Wavelet Singular Value Decomposition)를 이용하여 발전기 탈락 시의 전압 변동 특성을 분석하였다.

  • This paper proposes decomposition-based approach for developing the evaluation factors of performance measures and designing performance measures in manufacturing system. In this paper, the evaluation factors are designed by design decomposition approach and the design process of performance measures is based on the manufacturing system design decomposition.

  • We derive a sharp decomposition formula for the state polytope of the Hilbert point and the Hilbert-Mumford index of reducible varieties by using the decomposition of characters and basic convex geometry. This proof captures the essence of the decomposition of the state polytopes in general, and considerably simplifies an earlier proof by the authors which uses a careful analysis of initial ideals of reducible varieties.

  • We consider the iterative schemes for the large sparse linear system to solve partial differential equations. Using spectral radius of iteration matrices, the optimal relaxation parameters and good parameters can be obtained. With those parameters we compare the effectiveness of the SOR and SSOR algorithms. Applying Crank-Nicolson approximation, we observe the error distribution according to domain decomposition. The number of processors due to domain decomposition affects time and error. Numerical experiments show that effectiveness of SOR and SSOR can be reversed as time size varies, which is not the usual case. Finally, these phenomena suggest conjectures about equilibrium time grid for SOR and SSOR.

  • In this paper, the solution of time fractional telegraph equation is obtained by using Adomain decomposition method and compared with various other method to determine the efficiency of Adomain decomposition method. These methods are used to obtain the series solutions. Finally, results are analysed by plotting the solutions for various fractional orders.

  • Decomposition rates of glucose, starch, spinach leaves and litters in forests are calculated by equation dC dt=-kC(Co-1nC), dC- dt=$-kC^2$, and Olson's negative exponential decay model.dC dt = - kC =-kC(Co - InC) showed a very close fit to decomposition of the organic matters in cultural media by purified microorganisms and dC dt=$-kC^2$ to decomposition of the litters in forests. Key words: Organic matters, Cultural media, Glucose, Starch, Leaves, Litters.

  • In 1984, Oshiro [11] has studied the decomposition of continuous lifting modules. He obtained the following: every continuous lifting module has an indecomposable decomposition. In this paper, we study extending lifting modules. We show that every extending lifting module has an indecomposable decomposition. This result is an expansion of Oshiro's result mentioned above. And we consider some application of this result.
