항공기 제빙 시스템의 인증에 대한 연구 (Study for Certification of Aircraft De-icing System)

  • De-icing system is essential for any aircraft to fly in icing conditions. So there are two kinds of aircraft-those that are certificated for flight in icing conditions and those that are not. Icing certification involves a rigorous testing program, and relatively few light aircraft carry this approval. From a legal perspective, aircraft that do not have all required ice protection equipment installed and functional are prohibited from venturing into an area where icing conditions are known. There are a few kinds of de-icing system. It is necessary to review the systems in point of aircraft certification considering the operational and safety issues.

발수 성분을 포함하는 프로필렌글리콜(PG) 기반 고속철도차량용 제·방빙액의 특성 (Properties of De/Anti-icing Fluid for High Speed Railway Rolling Stock Based on Propylene-glycol Containing Water Repellent Agent)

  • 화학적 제빙 방법으로 프로필렌글리콜 제빙액은 동절기 고속철도차량 하부 및 대차부에 부착되는 설빙으로 인한 결빙을 녹이는데 적용가능하다. 프로필렌글리콜 제빙액을 운행 전 고속철도차량에 철도차량 하부 및 대차부에 미리 살포하여 눈의 부착을 최소화하면 해빙 효율을 더 높일 수 있다. 고속철도의 경우 프로필렌글리콜 제빙액을 살포하여도 고속으로 운행 시 대차 표면에서 제빙액은 거의 소실되기 때문에 눈의 부착으로 인한 결빙에 대한 방빙성능은 떨어진다. 본 연구에서는 동절기 고속철도차량 하부 및 대차부에 부착되는 설빙으로 인한 결빙을 방지하기 위해 표면의 결빙을 방지하는 발수 성분을 포함하는 프로필렌글리콜 제·방빙액의 특성을 연구하였다. 발수제의 종류에 따른 점도, 융빙성능, 접촉각 및 방빙성능에 대한 비교 평가를 실시하여 고속철도차량 제·방빙액으로 최적의 물질을 찾고자 하였다. 평가 결과 에톡시실란 타입의 발수제 성분을 포함하는 제·방빙액이 가장 적합한 것으로 확인하였다.

도로 제설제 권장 살포량 산정식의 적정성 평가 (Evaluation of Reasonableness of the Recommended Spraying Amount Equation for De-icing Chemicals)

  • PURPOSES : This study evaluates the reasonableness of the recommended amount of deicing chemicals based on historical data for snow removal. The result can be used to aid decision-making for the reservation of cost-effective de-icing chemicals. METHODS : First, the recommended amount of de-icing chemical to use and historical usage data were evaluated to identify specific usage characteristics for each region. Road maintenance length and snow-removal working days were analyzed over the past five winter seasons. Next, differences in the recommended amount of chemical to use and actual use were compared using the Kolmogorov-Smirnov test. Last, the two types of data were analyzed using a chi-square test to verify if the two distributions of variation pattern are statistically significant. We found that there are significant differences between the data from each region during the past five winter seasons. RESULTS : The results showed that the equation for calculating the amount of de-icing chemical to use appears to be revised. CONCLUSIONS : The results imply that the equation for calculating the amount of de-icing chemical to apply as a national standard is very important when the public agency makes decisions related to snow-removal.

시판 방동제의 저온 양생된 모르타르 특성 (Characteristics of Mortar at Low Temperature with De-icing Agency)

  • Concrete placed under cold weather has some defects such as the decrease of initial strength by hydration delay, strength unrecovery at unhardened concrete freezing, and structural failure and crack by expansion pressure. So, in this study, we tried to evaluate the JIS mortar which was made under cold weather using de-icing agency. In mortar test, the do-icing agency increased compressive strength under standard curing, and the de-icing agency made by NaNO$_2$ gave the highest strength. However, as pre-curing time under 21$^{\circ}C$ was short, the de-icing agency made by NaNO$_2$ and Ca[NO$_3$]$_2$ had the highest strength.

항공기용 결빙방지액의 지상 사용승인을 위한 FAA의 최근 인증정책 연구 (The Study of FAA's certification policy for approving the ground use of deicing/anti-icing fluids on airplane)

  • This study describes the Federal Aviation Administration(FAA) certification policy for approving the use of Type II, III, and IV deicing/anti-icing fluids on small category airplanes. These fluids can be characterized as non-Newtonian, pseudo-plastic fluids, also known as "thickened" fluids. Deicing fluids are used before takeoff to remove frost or ice contamination, while anti-icing fluids are used before takeoff to prevent frost or ice contamination from occurring for a period of time(referred to as "holdover time") after application. Thickened deicing/anti-icing fluids can affect airplane performance and handling characteristics and their residue may cause stiff or frozen flight controls. This study also describes an approval process that may be used by type certificate holders and applicants for a type certificate under parts 23 to support operational use of these fluids on their airplanes.

산업부산물을 활용한 친환경제설제의 특성평가 (Evaluation of the Properties of an Environment-Friendly De-icing Agent Based on Industrial By-Products)

  • 한랭지역의 동절기 교통안전을 위하여 제설제 살포가 다량으로 이루어지고 있는데, 그 살포량도 매년 증가하고 있는 실정이다. 일반적으로 사용되는 제설제는 염화칼슘($CaCl_2$), 염화나트륨(NaCl)과 같은 염화물계가 주성분으로, 국내에서는 대부분 염화칼슘을 주로 사용하고 있고, 미국이나 일본의 경우는 소금인 염화나트륨으로 모두 염소이온을 포함하고 있다. 염화칼슘 제설제가 포함하고 있는 염화물 때문에 제설제 살포시 염화물은 도로 구조물로 침투하여 염해에 의한 철근부식을 유발하여 실제 포장이나 손상된 교량 구조물 내에서의 구조적 성능저하를 야기하고, 동절기 동해와 함께 복합적으로 작용하여 표면 스케일링을 발생시키며, 특히 살포제에 의한 수질 오염과 같은 심각한 부작용을 초래하고 있다. 또한 콘크리트 도로포장 표면이 염화칼슘 제설제 사용 후 나타나는 열화현상으로 인하여 기존의 염화칼슘 제설제의 경우 시각적으로 교통 외관상 문제를 가속화시키고 있다. 따라서, 본 연구에서는 산업부산물인 폐유기산과 칼슘계부산물을 반응시켜 친환경 액상 제설제를 제조하고 그 특성을 분석하여 도로시설물에 적용가능성을 검토하였다.

빙해선박 아이스 클래스 루버의 해빙(de-icing) 성능평가 및 설계기준에 관한 연구 (A Study on the De-Icing Performance Evaluation and Design Guide for Ice Class Louver of the Vessels Operating in Cold Region)

  • For the design guide of a vessel operating in cold region, numerical analysis was carried out to evaluate the ice class louver which installed the heating cables by using ANSYS 13.0 CFX. The numerical analysis was performed by considering Unsteady Reynolds Averaged Navier Stokes (RANS) equation. This study based on the experimental results of ‘The Cryogenic Performance Evaluation for the Excellent De-icing Ice Class Louver’ in KRISO. For validation of the numerical analysis results, the cold chamber experimental data measured by the heat sensors in certain location of the ice class louver was used. The external environmental temperature which varies from 0℃ to –30℃ was considered in numerical analysis. Also the design guide for optimum de-icing presented through heating cable power capacity(33 W/m, 45 W/m, 66 W/m), location of the heating cable(front, center, behind on the blade) and relative velocity(1 m/s, 4 m/s, 7 m/s).

제설제로부터 기인한 염화물의 콘크리트 확산특성 (Chloride Diffusion of Concrete in Presence of De-icing Salt)

  • In winter, a large amount of de-icing salts such as $CaCl_2$, NaCl have been used on highways for road safety. They make concrete structures deteriorated. In this study, the chloride diffusion of concrete in presence of de-icing salt was investigated. The diffusion coefficient of chloride in presence of $CaCl_2$ solution was larger than in presence of NaCl solution. Therefore, it is necessary to assess chloride profile in presence of $CaCl_2$ by different way from the case in presence of NaCl solution or seawater.

융빙제 사용으로 인해 열화된 콘크리트 구조물의 내구성 조사 (The Investigation of Deteriortion of Concrete Structures due to the De-icing Salts)

  • The study was performed for the purpose of obtaining the fundamental data to improve the durability of concrete structures due to de-icing salts. To assume the degree of concrete deterioration, soluble chloride content in concrete, the depth of carbonation and compressive strength of core specimens were measured. The porgress of corrosion of concrete bridge was electrochemically monitored. The results show that the concrete structure was deteriorated and reinforced steel in concrete was corroded due to de-icing salts.

전차선로 해빙시스템의 온도특성 (Temperature Analysis of the De-icing System for Overhead Contact Wire)

  • The ice coats are built on 25 kV overhead contact wire when the temperature is lower than $0^{\circ}C$. It generates shockwaves at the mechanical interface of the collecting strips of the pantograph and the contact wire. The de-icing processes should be performed to avoid shockwaves which are generated by a pulsed high-voltage arc discharge. This paper presents temperature analysis of the de-icing effects which could be applied to the overhead contact wire of railways using Joule heat. The results show that 350 A is the proper current for $0^{\circ}C$ conductor according to environmental condition such as velocity of air stream, ambient temperature and moisture.
