  • Kangrung is a royal tomb for King Myoungjong and his wife, Queen Jeongsun. According the record, Myoungjong died on 1567 and was buried in the present location at Gongrungdong, Nowonku, Seoul. During the 2006 repair for the Jeongjagak (memorial hall) and Bigak (tombs' house) of Kangrung, a dendrochronological analysis had been conducted. We took 79 samples, 74 from Jeongjagak and 5 from Bigak, respectively, for dating. There were three major cutting groups, i.e., 1692-1694, 1737, and 1859-1861. The first group was well matched with the date of reconstruction, which was written on the 'Sangryangmun', a formal record about building activities. The tree-ring results confirmed that the present buildings of Jeongjagak and Bigak in Kangrung were reconstructed in 1695. The second and third cutting groups indicated major repairs in Bigak.

  • The area where age dating of the seafloor and interpretation of geomagnetic basic structure are conducted is also important in the aspect of geophysics. Near the sea mount (water depth to the top is 3900m and 6500m to the bottom), there are Mesozoic magnetic lineations at the sea-side flank along the trench axis. A two dimensional model analysis of Talwani and Heirtzler(1964) and a three dimensional model analysis of Talwani are performed by using data obtained from the marine proton magnetometer. Distribution, direction of the lineation, amplitude and period of magnetic anomaly are correlated and analysed with speed of the plate movement and lineation of the sea mount. In the west and north-west Pacific there are lots of huge sea mounts retaining the history of oceanic crust. This indicates that geomagnetic basis subsided into the oceanic crust and has interest in the aspects of the isostasy theory of the gravity.

  • The purpose of this study was to examine the factors related to adolescence' post-sexual assault attitudes and behaviors. 906 students from 5girls high schools completed self-reported questionnaires. Independent variables are sexual attitudes, rape myth acceptance, perceived importance of sexuality education, parent sexuality education, parent closeness, parent superintendence, family functioning and socioeconomic variables. The data were analyzed by Factor Analysis, Correlation Analysis, Stepwise Multiple Regression Analysis using SPSS program. The significant influencing factors were home sexuality education, perceived necessity & importance of sexuality education, parent closeness, parent superintendence, family functioning, grade, vocational school, rape myth(rapists are mentally ill, dating partner would not be rapist. rapists are stranger), sexual attitudes(sexual permissiveness, gender equality, family planning, STDs & prostitution, marriage and divorce and abortion), and dating experience. Examination of barriers to post-sexual assault coping behaviors and attitudes is critical component of victim recovery and rape prevention. This study would gives basic information to the effective prevention and coping program development related to sexual assault.

  • Purpose: The purpose of this study was to identify the factors influencing sexual assertiveness in dating college students. Methods: With a cross-sectional survey design, 468 college students who have had dating experiences were recruited and answered questionnaires. Data were analyzed using t-test, ANOVA with Scheffe? test, Pearson's correlation coefficients, and multiple regression. Results: The sexual assertiveness of college students showed significant results: positive correlations with self-assertiveness and negative correlations with traditional sexual attitude, gender role stereotypes. Significant predictors of sexual assertiveness were traditional sexual attitude, gender role stereotypes, and self-assertiveness. These variables explained 37% of the variance in sexual assertiveness. Conclusion: Findings suggest that it is important to identify and improve communication patterns in relation to sexual assertiveness. There is a need for sex education programs for college students that are relevant and effective.

  • Radioisotopes and their related techniques have recently been applied for scientific conservation works of cultural property and resulted many excellent findings or conservation data which could never be achieved by means of other techniques. Radiocarbon dating have widely been applied for dating the antique of organic origin, whereas the determination of radioactive contents in metal, ceramics, environmental soil, and classical objects could be able to afford many useful informations on the age, genuiness, and archeological significances as it had been produced. Trace quantity of contents of each antique have successfully been analyzed by means of radioactivation analysis or radio active tracer techniques, which could afford important technical data and results for tile conservation of each object. Radiography have also been applied for detecting the internal defects of metal objects and furthermore $\beta$-and ${\gamma}$-ray radiography were proved to be effective for such thin material as textile, painting, and fibres. In this article the detailed principle and procedures of each technique were presented so that the society could be able to make efforts to familiarize all concerns with these modern trends of the conservation techniques of cultural property.

  • The excavated costume of Jangheung Ma's included jeogoris, skirts, and pants, and a jungchimak(중치막), jangot(장옷), cheolrik(철릭), and jikryeong(직령). Most of the items were made of silk and cotton. The clothes for shrouding were plainer than those found in other regions. The method of sewing was mostly broad-stitching, but backstitch, hem tacking and decorative saddle stitching were also used. Unlined clothes were made with on old method of sewing(옛쌈솔), which was used mainly in the early period of the Chosun dynasty. Dating of the excavated costume can be determined by examining the collar of the Korean coat or jacket, the shape and form of sleeve, the size of the sub, and the form of gusset. Straight, diagonal, and broad sleeves were the most commonlyused shapes of sleeve in the middle period of $17^{th}$ century. In the latter period of Chosun, the trend moved towards a single-sub.

  • In order to clarify the depositional environment and sea-level change at Ilsan area including Gawaji and Saemal valley plains, which is located at the right side in downstream of the Han River, boring data, radiocabon dating and diatom analysis were comprehensively investigated. As a result, the palaeogeographies fo this area altered by the transgressions and regressions after 7,000 y. BP could be restored. The high tide sea-level(mean high water level of spring tide) was arrived ca. 7,000y. BP at the valley plain and risen to ca. 5.5m at ca. 5000y. BP. Since then, the sea-level was kept up the same level to ca. 3,200 BP. The descended sea-level to ca. 2,300 BP was risen up to ca. 5.8m in ca. 1,800 y. BP. It is presumed that such a sea-level change as well as the different sediments in quantity supplied from the river basin of the valley plain could be effected to change diversely the depositional environment of the study area and eventually to the prehistoric human life.

  • We study galaxies drawn from the semi-analytic models of Guo et al. (2011) based on the Millennium Simulation. We establish a set of four observationally measurable parameters which can be used in combination to identify a subset of galaxy groups which are old, with a very high probability. We therefore argue that a sample of fossil groups selected based on the luminosity gap will result in a contaminated sample of old galaxy groups. By adding constraints on the luminosity of the brightest galaxy, and its offset from the group luminosity centroid, we can considerably improve the age-dating.
