  • This study explored the impact of daily hassles and the mediated effect of spiritual well-being and the moderated effect of coping styles on health and depression of middle-aged women. Subjects for this study were 230 Christian midlife women attending in the 10 churches on the metropolitan area. The data was analyzed using path analysis and moderator effect model with the structural equation modeling. Daily hassles are found to act as causes that damage physical or mental health and also elevate the level of depression. Daily hassles have a direct impact on health and depression, and at the same time, they also produce a partial mediation effect on spiritual well-being as a mediation factor. In other words, daily hassles impede spiritual well-being, and the deteriorated spiritual well-being, although its connection to physical health is not clear, is shown to damage mental health and elevate the level of depression. Analysis of coping styles related to the relationship between daily hassles and health and depression showed that, of the 12 coping styles, three, namely, self-criticism, positive interpretation and self-control, produced significant buffering effects. This study hopes to reveal the mediation factors that can minimize negative impact in the relationship between middle-aged women's daily hassles and healthiness and provide the basic material for figuring out practical implications and policy measures regarding the issue.

  • The purpose of this study was to discuss the required items and feasibility of medical records of radiological examinations performed by radiological technologists at medical institutions. An online survey was conducted to a total of 10,000 radiation-related workers, of which 1,026 (10.3%) responded. As a research method, self-made questionnaires were used. The online survey was conducted from September 10 to September 20, 2021 for the survey period. For response data, a Chi-square test was performed according to demographic characteristics using SPSS 27.0 version (IBM Inc., Chicago, Ill, USA), and it was judged to be significant when the P value was less than 0.05. The reliability of the questionnaire response was found to be Chronbach α=0.933. More than 90% of the medical records related to radiological examinations are necessary, and they answered that a curriculum, remuneration curriculum, and legal system for medical records should be prepared. More than 90% of the respondents agreed with the proposal of the Radiological Technologist Independent Act for legal preparation, and most of the information required for medical records is currently recorded in DICOM images. According to the demographic characteristics, the medical record requirement for radiological examination, curriculum, continuing education, and legislation were found to be higher with higher education and higher with longer working experience. • This study investigates the current features of social service provision system focusing on the core institutional traits of the system and community environment. Specifically, the study analyzes the differences in the contents and characteristics of social service provision, according to the community types, such as metropolitan area, medium size cities, and rural area. Also, the study explores the relationships among the three major subsystems in the social service provision system based on the types of financial provisions. Furthermore, the interaction effects between the community factors and financial traits on the relationships among sub- components in the service provision system are investigated. In this study other organizations, service users and public sector are regarded as three major sub-components in the provision system. The study utilizes the raw data from '2015 Social Service Demand and Provision Survey', which interviewed 4,100 social service organizations. Results from analyses show that the gap among metropolitan area, medium cites, and rural area is not so much bigger in the diverse provision features(e.g. the competition level, the major focus on the users, and policy demands on public sector) of provider-provision-organizations than in those of both of user-provision-organization and of market-way-organizations. User-provision organizations show the distinct differences in terms of the focus points on the users, while marketed organizations do in terms of the policy demands to the public sector. In rural area, user-provision organizations act like provider-provision-organizations whereas they do market-way-organizations in the urban area. Research findings show that the social service provision types utilizing market mechanism(such as user-provision, and market-way) are not so well fit into the characteristics of rural area.

  • The frequency of official injury of fire-fighting officers exposed to an extreme situation in disaster areas has been continuously increased. In spite of increase of injury, procedures of injury approval are complex, so the working environment of fire-fighting officers is very poor in terms of safety management. This study was, therefore, conducted to provide basic data for improvement of the injury management system for fire-fighting officers, by empirically analyzing the system for those in Busan city. The findings of the empirical analysis are as follows: first, the frequency of injury experienced by them is higher than that of other occupations; second, application for injury is not actively made; third, fire-fighting officers should bear the expense if injury is approved. On the basis of such an analysis on actual conditions, an analysis on policy factors for improving the injury management system shows; first, various high-risk matters should be considered in the review of application for injury, for improvement factors of the application for injury, while it is necessary to extend the benefit and support project for injured officers, for operation improvement factors of the injury management system, and the compensation act should be improved, for the improvement factors of the injury system. Second, it is urgent to develop damage prevention and coping education program for improving the injury management system. In addition, the simplification of administrative procedures of application for injury and the extension of benefit and support project for injured officers should be realized as soon as possible, moreover, the enhancement of directors' interest and support is also required.

  • This study analyzed the hazard of unemployment and the influencing factors on the rate. Data came from the Panel Survey of Employment for the Disabled(PSED), 2010-2012, which is a longitudinal survey for 5,092 disabled people in Korea. For the main purpose of this study, the life-table method was used for describing the patterns of unemployment duration by disabled, and the cox proportional hazard model was used to identify significant factors on the unemployment duration. The results were as follows. First, according to the life table analysis, the unemployment rate to remain until the longest period of unemployment(25month) is 90.5%, and the rate of entry into the labor market was only 9.5%. Overall, the unemployment maintenance rate was high, the unemployment escape rate decreased after 12month. Second, looking at the results from the cox proportional hazards model, the unemployment escape possibility were increased for those who are male, are non-public benefit recipient with disability, have mild disability, and have less discrimination experiences. With these results, disability discrimination act which can reduce the disability discrimination in employment site should be strengthened. Also, the scheme of Nation Basic Protection Program should be modified to attract the employment of recipients with disability. Finally, policy targets having employment escape difficulty, such as women with disability, people with severe disabilities should be departmentalized. And employment service is provided in accord with the individual needs and characteristics.

  • Risk factors that threaten public safety such as crime, fire, and traffic accidents have spatial characteristics. Since each region has different dangerous environments, it is necessary to analyze the spatial pattern of risk factors for each sector such as traffic accident, fire, crime, and living safety. The purpose of this study is to analyze the spatial distribution pattern of local safety level index, which act as an index that rates the safety level of each sector (traffic accident, fire, crime, living safety, suicide, and infectious disease) for basic local governments across the nation. The following analysis tools were used to analyze the spatial autocorrelation of local safety level index : Global Moran's I, Local Moran's I, and Getis-Ord's G⁎i. The result of the analysis shows that the distribution of safety level on traffic accidents, fire, and suicide tends to be more clustered spatially compared to the safety level on crime, living safety, and infectious disease. As a result of analyzing significant spatial correlations between different regions, it was found that the Seoul metropolitan areas are relatively safe compared to other cities based on the integrated index of local safety. In addition, hot spot analysis using statistical values from Getis-Ord's G⁎i derived three hot spots(Samchuck, Cheongsong-gun, and Gimje) in which safety-vulnerable areas are clustered and 15 cold spots which are clusters of areas with high safety levels. These research findings can be used as basic data when the government is making policies to improve the safety level by identifying the spatial distribution and the spatial pattern in areas with vulnerable safety levels.
