EFDC model was applied to reproduce velocity fields and to evaluate the dispersion characteristics of suspended sediments (SS) around a Daesan port. Numerical results using two-dimensional hydrodynamic model of EFDC showed good agreements through comparison with the time series and harmonic analysis of the tidal elevations. The dispersion patterns of the suspended sediments using the calculated velocity fields were calculated to move from east to northeast direction in flood tide and from west to southwest in ebb tide for dredging of sea route, respectively. Also, the suspended sediments were widely dispersed into the front areas of a Daesan port, Nanji-do and Garorim bay in the long-term. Therefore, it was inferred that the environmental problems for sea pollution would be occurred seriously if the dredging for sea route would be continued in the long-term.

The Garlic having antibiosis is added to the most cuisine and used to treat dysentery and diarrhea for So-um-in(少陽人). The fact that the garlic, a Kind of Hun-chae, has warm and thermal characteristics couId be proved by a natural ecoIgical action of a fIy, Delia antiqua Meigen. OriginalIy San(蒜) designated Sosan(小蒜), a native species in Korea. But as Daesan(garlic)(大蒜) was imported, it meant both of Sosan(小蒜) and Daesan(大蒜). Now it means only Daesan(大蒜). This process of change of meaning was reviewed by focusing on the Dong-ui-bo-gam(東醫寶鑑). The San-20-mae(蒜二十枚) appearing in the Dangun mythology(檀君神話) should be interpreted not to 'garlic 20 piece(마늘 20개)' but to 'Dal-lae 20 roots(달래 20뿌리)'. It is possible to explain that the hibernant bear compared with the active tiger overcame the animality and the bestiality with perseverance in the dark cave so that it could be transformed to a human at the 21stday, the culmination number of Yang(陽). The garlic decame an abstaining food at sacrificial rituals because it arouses the sexual desire and excites person,s mind. High dose of raw garlic may cause harmful side effects in So-yang-in(少陽人) and Tae-um-in(太陰人) having a thermal characteristic.

The national VTS was launched in 1993, and has adopted a harbour-oriented control method which is unable to consider enough characteristics of its work. However, for the past 17 years, the characteristics has changed due to increased amount of vessels. Up to now the domestic Vessel Traffic Service has adopted harbour-oriented control method which is unable to consider enough characteristics of its work. However, developed countries have carried out waters-oriented control method, according to the using areas of ships, to be well considered the characteristics of control for increasing efficiency of it. Especially, VTS of Daesan, Pyeongtaek and Inchon harbour can have confusions of control because of overlapped service areas of it. Therefore, in this paper suggested a new Sector Division that the relevants waters is divided into 3 operational Regions and these are divided into nine sectors again, for the purpose of improving the efficiency and the concentration of VTS.

The Seosan Group in the Taean peninsular can be divided into Seosan formation and Daesan formation according to its metamorphism and stratigraphy. The Seosan formation is composed of iron bearing quartzite and schist which are strongly metamorphosed and migmatized about 2572 m.y.ago. The Daesan formation is composed mainly of quartzite and crystalline limestone. They were intruded by granite gneiss 2370m.y ago and metamorphosed two or three times before Jurassic Period. The Group is overlain by Taean formation which shows low grade metamorphism. Total three times metamorphic events can be recognized in these areas. First and second metamorphisms are predominent in amphibolite facies, the last metamolphism is mostly greenschist facies.

선박의 안천한 항해를 돕기 위하여 해상에 항로표지를 설치하여 운영하고 있다. 해상 ICT(Information and Communications Technology)의 발달로 AtoN AIS(Automatic Identification System) 및 CDMA(Code Division Multiple Access), LTE(Long Term Evolution) 등 다중통신망을 이용하여 항로표지의 상태를 감시하고 제어가 가능해짐에 따라 해양수산부에서는 항로표지 관리운영시스템을 운영하고 있다. e-Navigation 및 자율운항선박 분야 등에 항로표지 스마트화를 위해 정확한 항로표지 정보가 요구된다. 본 논문에서는 정확한 항로표지 정보 제공을 위해 관리운영시스템 표준소프트웨어 문제점을 분석하고 개선방안에 대해서 소개한다.

Peak or near-peak metamorphic temperatures and pressures for Seosan area could be estimated from major element method. Temperatures calculated from garnet-biotite geothermoneter(Ferry and Spear, 1978; Ganguly and Saxena, 1984) are $620{\pm}40^{\circ}C$ and $520{\pm}20^{\circ}C$ for Seosan and Daesan Formation respectively. Presures derived from garnet-plagiciase-$Al_2Si_O_2$-quartz geobarometer(Newton and Haselton, 1981; Ganguly and Saxena, 1984)suggest 5-6kb for both of Seosan and Daesan Formation. These results suggest that under isobaric, Seosan Formation underwent relatively high temperature metamorphism compared with Daesan Formation. Chemical zonations of garnet for major elements such as Fe, Mg, and Mn in Seosan and Dasan Formation show different patterns each other probably caused by different thermal history.

Ships' tracking data are being monitored and collected by vessel traffic service center in real time. In this paper, we intend to contribute to vessel traffic service operators' decision making through extracting ships' tracking patterns and models based on these data. Support Vector Machine algorithm was used for vessel track modeling to handle and process the data sets and k-fold cross validation was used to select the proper parameters. Proposed data processing methods could support vessel traffic service operators' decision making on case of anomaly detection, calculation ships' dead reckoning positions and etc.

With an increases in income levels and the establishment of a five-day workweek, the number of passengers using international passenger terminals around the world continues to grow every year. However, previous researches on port sector have focused on cargo, and neglected the study on the passenger attraction strategy of the international passenger terminal. Maximizing passenger attraction strategy of the international passenger terminal requires establishing and operating the port marketing strategy, which reflects port characteristics and the tourism marketing strategy, which reflects the hinterland characteristics in an integrated approach. Therefore, the study presents a marketing mix strategy for Daesan International Passenger Terminal based on existing literatures, and a tourism marketing strategy for Seosan city based on the "6A" factor. Recommendations for the Daesan Port include the grand image improvement strategy of Seosan city, utilization of marine tourism resources and development of various tourism products linked to the neighboring areas.

Daesan Harbor is developing under the Industrial Complex or Petrochemistry Development Plan making the port the main hub-port in the West coast. Because of this development. the traffic volume is expected to increase to 9,1.95 incoming vessels by 2020, an increase of 167% compared to 2008 figure. This study thoroughly analyzes and evaluates a systematic and comprehensive use of the fairway in the Daesan Harbor. It establishes a future oriented and safe marine transportation environment upon appropriate examination of the total fairways and sailing assistance facilities.
