  • Electrolytic power capacitors today form essential components for virtually any power electronic system such as DC/DC converter or UPS. Frequently, electrolytic capacitors for DC link voltage smoothing are the key components which determine the life cycle of the whole unit and often are responsible for converter breakdown failures. In this paper, ethernet-based remote diagnosis system for DC voltage smoothing capacitor using DSP control board is developed. To estimate the status of the capacitor, the equivalent series resistor(ESR) of the component has to be determined. The ESR detection scheme is based on the determination of the capacitor ripple power losses calculated from DC link voltage/current measurement. Experimental results show the veridity and reliability of the proposed ethernet-based remote on-line capacitor diagnosis system.

  • Due to the high power to weight ratio and fast response under heavy load, the hydraulic systems are still applied to the development of many industrial facilities such as heavy duty construction vehicles, aerospace/military weapon actuating systems and motion simulators. Unlike the other actuators, single-rod hydraulic cylinder exhibits a lot different dynamic characteristics between the extending and retracting stroke because of the difference in pressure acting areas. In this research, in order to overcome this nonlinear feature, $H_{\infty}$ optimal controller was designed and implemented with DSP board that was specifically developed for the experiment. From the experimental result, we could confirm that the overall performance of single-rod hydraulic servo system is similar with the results as we expected in the design stage.

  • Active noise control technique has superior performance in low frequency ranges(50 .approx. 400Hz) to the conventional passive noise control technique. For the feasibility of active noise control, it is required to develop a controller which can implement control algorithm on real-time. In this study, therefore, real-time controller is developed using TMS320c25, high speed digital processor. Unlike conventional DSP board of complete ADD ON type, it is possible for the developed controller to interface with the other computer system easily by series communication for the convenience of program development. Furthermore it is designes to be separated readily as a control device. Active noise control of duct system is implemented ti evaluate a performance of developed device. Active noise control of duct system is implemented to evaluate a performance of developed controller using filtered-x LMS algorithm.

  • This paper shows that the proposed fuzzy-sliding mode control algorithm for a SCARA robot could reduce the chattering due to sliding mode control and is robust against a change of payload and parameter uncertainties. That is, the chattering can be reduced by changing control input for compensating disturbances into a control input by fuzzy rules within a pre-determined dead zone. The experimental results show that the chattering can be reduced more effectively by the fuzzy-sliding mode control algorithm than the sliding mode control with two dead zones. It is proved experimentally that the proposed control algorithm is robust to a change of payload. The proposed control algorithm is implemented to the SCARA robot using a DSP(board) for high speed calculations.

  • This paper present a new method for world wide network motor controlled system. It use disturbance observer to present high precision position control algorithm to disturbance change, and to apply this to induction motors. It shows that proposed algorithm is strong in induction motor precision control for disturbance change. This system with disturbance observer used deadbeat control, which have high benefit, is good for quick disturbance compensation. To show these effectiveness the whole process is simulated by simulink, and also experimented by DSP6416 with TCP-IP network board.

  • This paper presents a vector control implementation for PMSM using Real Time Workshop and Embedded Target for TI C2000 DSP in MATLAB/SIMULINK. Speed, current and vector controllers are easily designed and implemented by using the MATLAB/SIMULINK program. Feedback of motor speed is processed through C28x QEP(Quadrature Encoder Pulse) block from encoder pulse. 3-Phase currents ares processed through C28x ADC block from current sensors. And gating signal of PWM inverter is generated through SVPWM and PWM block. Real-time program is drawn using SIMULINK and then converted program code for speed control of PMSM is downloaded into the TI eZdsp 2812 board. Experiments were carried out to examine validity of the proposed vector control implementation.

  • 기존의 자동차 번호판 인식시스템은 특정위치에 설치된 카메라로부터 획득한 영상을 서버로 전송하여 서버가 모든 처리 및 인식을 하게 된다. 하지만 다량의 카메라를 설치할 경우 서버의 부하가 심해지는 단점이 있다. 따라서 본 논문에서는 카메라에 연결된 DSP 보드를 통해 자동차 번호판 인식에 필요한 각각의 문자라 숫자를 추출하고, 이진화 및 정규화 과정을 거쳐 서버로 전송함으로써, 서버는 인식단계만을 수행하여 부하를 줄이는 방식을 제안한다.

  • This paper proposes a hardware implementation of intelligent electronic device for power transformer protection. And proposes an advanced main protection algorithm by voltage-current trend and flux-differential current slope characteristics. The secondary protection functions include UR, OCGR, OVR, and W etc. The main board of IED is based on the DSP chip TMS32C32 processor The IED was tested with relaying signals obtained for EMTP simulation package.

  • MSIS(Modular Scalable Inverter System)에서 모터 구동 시 발생하는 고주파 성분의 순환 전류는 구동 시스템의 효율 및 신뢰성을 저하시키기 때문에, 이를 저감하기 위한 PWM(Pulse Width Modulation) 동기화 기법의 구현이 필수적으로 요구 된다. 본 논문은 MSIS에서 PWM 동기화 기법을 적용하기 위한 모터 구동 인버터용 제어보드의 설계에 관한 것이다. 제어보드 간 PWM 동기화 기법을 적용하기 위해 DSP(Digital Signal Processor)의 EPWMSYNC를 활용하였다. EPWMSYNC은 서로 다른 DSP간 PWM의 위상을 동기화하는 기능으로 DSP의 EPWMSYNCO과 EPWMSYNCI를 사용한다. 설계한 제어보드는 EPWMSYNC 신호를 광케이블을 통해 다른 제어보드로 연결할 수 있도록 설계하여, 제어보드 간의 절연과 잡음의 영향을 최소화했다. 본 논문에서 설계한 제어보드의 EPWMSYNC를 시험하였으며, 600W급 IPMSM(Interior Permanent Magnet Synchronous Motor)을 부하로 사용하는 시스템에서 설계된 제어보드의 유효성을 검증하였다.

A Design of Microwave Measurement Board for Multi-channel Coaxial Cable Assembly (다중 채널 동축 케이블의 초고주파 측정용 보드 설계)

  • In High-Speed DSP systems, crosstalk between transmission lines of multi-channel can degrade the performance of equipment operations. This paper presents a microwave board to measure multi-channel coaxial cable assembly. The designed board has good performances from DC to 3 GHz, which have improved characteristic impedance, reduced crosstalk by using via fence, and low transmission loss. Using the designed board, we can measure characteristics of DUT(Device Under Test) such as return loss, insertion loss, crosstalk phase delay, and characteristic impedance. The measured results are used to improve performances of a produced coaxial cable assembly.
