A new computationally efficient algorithm-based propagator method for two-dimensional (2-D) direction-of-arrival (DOA) estimation is proposed, which uses two parallel uniform linear arrays. The algorithm takes advantage of the special structure of the array which enables 2-D DOA estimation without pair matching. Simulation results show that the proposed algorithm achieves very accurate estimation at a computational cost 4 dB lower than that of standard methods.
This paper proposes a direction-of-arrival (DOA)-based beamforming approach for multi-cell massive multiple-input multiple-output systems with uniform rectangular arrays (URAs). The proposed approach utilizes the steering vectors of the URA to form a basis of the spatial space and selects the partial space for beamforming according to the DOA information. As a result, the proposed approach is of lower computational complexity than the existing methods which utilize the channel covariance matrices. Moreover, the analysis demonstrates that the proposed approach can eliminate the interference in the limit of infinite number of the URA antennas. Since the proposed approach utilizes the multipaths to enhance the signal rather than discarding them, the proposed approach is of better performance than the existing low-complexity method, which is verified by the simulation results.

We need a transmission of high quality and capacity according to a fast supply of mobile communication terminal. As multipath fading occured in high speed transmission, adaptive array antenna habe been studied to solve such a demand. DOA(Direction of Arrival) estimation play a important .ole in adaptive a..ay antenna. This paper present a space time blind identification using second order statistics and present blind space time adaptive array antenna. Also we verified a effect of the presented method.

In this paper, the adaptive chirp beamforming method is proposed to solve the bias problem in the direction-of-arrivals (DOAs) estimation of the wideband chirp signals which have an identical time-frequency parameter and are emanated from different directions. The source location bias results from the interferences impinging on the array from the other directions. The proposed method exploits the time-frequency structure of the chirp signal based on STMV (STeered Minimum Valiance) to improve the DOA estimation performance by minimizing the chirp interferences effectively. Simulation results show the DOA estimation performance achieved by the proposed method as compared to the conventional methods.

This paper presents a non-contact measurement method of vital signal by the use of multiple-input multiple-output (MIMO) bio-radar system, configured with two antennas that are separated by a certain distance. The direction of arrival (DOA) estimation algorithm for coherent sources was applied to detect vital signals coming from different spatial angles. The proposed MIMO bio-radar system was composed of two identical transceivers sharing single VCO with a PLL. In order to verify the performance of the system, the DOA estimation experiment was completed with respect to the human target at angles varying between $-50^{\circ}$ and $50^{\circ}$ where the bio-radar system was placed at distances (corresponding to 50 cm and 95 cm) in front of a human target. The proposed MIMO bio-radar system can successfully find the direction of a human target.
In this paper, the non-parametric algorithm to estimate DOA(Direction Of Arrival) of signals is proposed and compared with the multidimensional MUSIC algorithm. This non-parametric algorithm with regularizing sparsity constraints achieves super-resolution and noise suppression, effectively. Also, this algorithm offers the increased resolution and significantly reduced sidelobes.

In this paper, we apply the 2-D Matrix Pencil Method(MPM) to the estimation of the direction of arrival(DOA) of multiple signals of interest(SOIs) in bistatic MIMO radar. The 2-D MPM shows remarkable performance under a low SNR environment and low computational complexity to estimate the DOA of multiple SOIs. Also, it is possible to estimate the direction of departure(DOD) which is an angle from transmitter to target. To verify the proposed algorithm, we applied the proposed algorithm to a uniformly spaced linear array(ULA) and compared the RMSE(Root Mean Square Error) of DOA and DOD under the various SNR with those of the 2-D Capon algorithm.
In this paper, we introduce the direction of arrival(DOA) estimation of distributed signal based on the improved ESPRIT algorithm. Most research on the estimation of DOA has been performed based on the assumption that the signal sources are point sources. However, we consider a two-dimensional distributed signal source model using improved ESPRIT algorithm. In the distributed signal source model, a source is represented by two parameters, the azimuth angle and elevation angle. We address the estimation of the elevation and azimuth angles of distributed sources based on the parametric source modeling in the three-dimensional space with two uniform linear arrays. The array output vector is obtained by integrating a steering vector over all direction of arrival with the weighting of a distributed source density function. We also develop an efficient estimation procedures that can reduce the computational complexity. Some examples are shown to demonstrate explicity the estimation procedures under the distributed signal source model.
Researchers have recently shown an increased interest in estimating the direction-of-arrival (DOA) of wideband noncircular sources, but existing studies have been restricted to subspace-based methods. An off-grid sparse recovery-based algorithm is proposed in this paper to improve the accuracy of existing algorithms in low signal-to-noise ratio situations. The covariance and pseudo covariance matrices can be jointly represented subject to block sparsity constraints by taking advantage of the joint sparsity between signal components and bias. Furthermore, the estimation problem is transformed into a single measurement vector problem utilizing the focused operation, resulting in a significant reduction in computational complexity. The proposed algorithm's error threshold and the Cramer-Rao bound for wideband noncircular DOA estimation are deduced in detail. The proposed algorithm's effectiveness and feasibility are demonstrated by simulation results.

In this paper, we propose a method to improve the performance of the direction-of-arrival (DOA) estimation of a speech source using a multiple signal classification (MUSIC)-based algorithm. Basically, the proposed algorithm utilizes a complex coefficient band pass filter to generate the narrow band signals for signal analysis. Also, reverberation component reduction and quadratic function-based response approximation in MUSIC spatial spectrum are utilized to improve the accuracy of DOA estimation. Experimental results show that the proposed method outperforms the well-known generalized cross-correlation (GCC)-based DOA estimation algorithm in the aspect of the estimation error and success rate, respectively.Abstract should be placed here.
