  • This research is aimed to investigate the effect of repetitive dive on physiological reactions, change of stress hormones in no decompression limit of sport SCUBA dive, an emerging recreational activity recently. In order to compare physiological reactions prior to and after the initial dive and after repetitive dive at a certain depth of a place, eight adult male divers with more than forty dives, who reside in Busan and were certified, were selected. The research results obtained from the procedures described above are follows: First, for physiological reactions, heart rates, temperatures, and systolic blood pressures had significant difference among prior to and after the initial dive and after the repetitive dive, while diastolic blood pressures did not show remarkable difference as it increased before and after the first dive but decreased following the repetitive dive again. Second, for change of stress hormones, it was not significantly different prior to and after the initial dive and following the repetitive dive, as well as before and during the first dive and the repetitive dive.

  • Eteching characteristics of the Indium Tin Oxide (ITO), which is transparent conductor, was investigated with CH4/H2 and Ar as etching gases for the Reactive Ion Etching (RIE). With CH4/H2 for the etching gas, the highly selective etching characteristics for the ITO on GaAs was obtained. It was examined that the dominant etching parameter for the selective etchning of ITO on GaAs structure was the chamber pressure. But, the etching selectivity for ITO on InP was poor eventhough we tried systematic etching. RIE etching conditins using CH4/H2 gas was limited due to the formation of polymer on the substrates. In the case of Ar gas for the reactive gas, the selectivity of ITO on BaTiO3 was above 10. The etch rete of ITO was more sensitive to the etching parameters than that of BaTiO3, which was almost constant with different etching parameters.

  • Objective: This paper aims to discuss the case study of Design Dive: Service Design Workshop that was held to improve public services by applying service design methods(February 2011~May 2011). In so doing, it suggests the ways in which public services can be innovated from a design-oriented perspective. Background: As citizens' social and cultural awareness of services is enhanced, there have been emerging needs for innovation of public services. Accordingly, the methods of service design which is to design holistically users' experiences have been considered as an important means to innovate public services. Method: In this regard, the present paper introduces and explores the example of the Design Dive Workshop as a platform whereby service design is achieved. In particular, it analyzes the results of the workshop. Results: The paper presents the results of the workshop and the 10 possible scenarios of public services that were explored in the workshop and suggests models for empowering the workshop participants. Conclusion: Service design is a very effective methodology for providing a new perspective on user-oriented design of public services. The workshop had educational effects on enhancing the participants' awareness of the role of public service design. Application: The Design Dive workshop contributed to improving public services and achieved positive educational results. The methods developed in the workshop can effectively be applied to various occasions on which public services should be improved.

  • In this paper a typical problem is examined that a light, general aviation airplane, such as Cessna or Navion, in gliding turn flight shows helical-dive phenomenon when pilots try to stop the descent by using elevator only. It is known from pilot's experience that in a certain flight trim it is impossible to recover from helical-dive by using elevator only. From this study it is shown that helical-dive phenomenon is involved with longitudinal/lateral dynamics coupling to airplane's aerodynamics. Also this phenomenon consists of three parts of flight dynamics; first of all, fast longitudinal motion occurs, then is followed by a little slow lateral motion, and finally logitudinal/lateral coupled motion is fully developed.

  • This paper deals with the development of an expert system modeling by constructing a knowledge-based system of the dive recovery for anticrash on the ground or sea during the task of fighter aircraft. In an IBM PC / XT computer, a prototype dive recovery expert system is constructed using mu LISP-86 programming language, and is interconnected to the SAM SUNG RM-501 robot arm to test and simulate this model. The knowledge base of this model is composed of the dive recovery charts and the V-N envelope charts of F-4 D Phantom fighter aircraft. It is shown that the prototype expert system woks well and the feasibility of practical realization is valid.
