Data Pattern Estimation with Movement of the Center of Gravity

  • In the rule based modeling, data partitioning plays crucial role be cause partitioned sub data set implies particular information of the given data set or system. In this paper, we present an empirical study result of the data pattern estimation to find underlying data patterns of the given data. Presented method performs crisp type clustering with given n number of data samples by means of the sequential agglomerative hierarchical nested model (SAHN). In each sequence, the average value of the sum of all inter-distance between centroid and data point. In the sequel, compute the derivation of the weighted average distance to observe a pattern distribution. For the final step, after overall clustering process is completed, weighted average distance value is applied to estimate range of the number of clusters in given dataset. The proposed estimation method and its result are considered with the use of FCM demo data set in MATLAB fuzzy logic toolbox and Box and Jenkins's gas furnace data.

Bio-IDS 시뮬레이터를 위한 Visualization Tool 의 설계 및 구현 (Design and Implementation of a Visualization Tool for a Simulator of a Bio-Intrusion Detection System)

  • 본 논문에서는 대규모 네트워크 상에서 발생되는 시뮬레이션 결과를 효과적으로 보여주기 위한 Visualization Tool 을 제안한다. 복잡하고 다양한 시뮬레이션 결과를 얻기 위해, 생태계 모방형 플랫폼을 이용한 Bio-IDS (Intrusion Detection System) 시뮬레이터의 실험 데이터를 이용하였다. 대규모 네트워크를 모두 보이기에는 화면이 너무 작기 때문에, Visualization Tool 은 화면의 확대 및 축소를 위한 Zoom In/Out 기능, 화면의 Panning 을 위한 Scroll Bar 및 현재 영역의 위치를 알려주는 Mini Map 이 필요하였다. 또한, 사용자가 쉽게 시뮬레이션의 속도를 조절할 수 있도록 Simulation Speed Control 기능을 구현하였으며, 각 노드의 효과적인 정상 및 침입 상태 표시를 위한 Icon, 각 노드의 진화 정도와 침입 탐지 정확도를 알려주는 Evolution Number와 Accuracy Gauge, 해당 시뮬레이션의 결과를 도시하기 위한 Simulation Graph 도 추가하였다. 네트워크 Off-line 환경도 대비하여, DB 로부터의 데이터 입력뿐만 아니라 Log File 을 통한 데이터 입력도 가능하게 하였다. 끝으로, 전체 Node 들의 다양한 상태변화를 확인할 수 있는 Topology Window 와 Simulation Demo Window 간의 Synchronization 을 위한 Socket 통신 등 다양한 기능들이 통합된 Visualization Tool 을 개발함으로써, 대규모 네트워크 시뮬레이션의 효과적인 시뮬레이션이 가능하게 되었다. 이로 인해 대규모 네트워크 상의 복잡한 시뮬레이션 결과도 사용자가 매우 쉽게 파악할 수 있 매우 효과적으로 사용자가 파악할 수 있게 되었다.

  • The purpose of this study was to develop a large representative data base for jeans marketing strategy This study was to survey brand features(launching year, launching company, design concept, sales volume, and price zone) in the current market, and was to examine brand awareness and it's relationship to segmented distribution regions, demo- graphic variables(sex, age, monthly household income, and seasonal clothing expenditure). This study was also to analyze brand image and consumer's seeking image. The 660 questionnaires were distributed and 618 reliable ones were used for statistical analysis. A SAS statistical package including frequency table, Chi-square test, factor analysis, analysis of variance(ANOVA), Duncan's multiple range test and paired-t test was used. The results are as follows: 1. Brand awareness involves "brand recall" based on asking a person to name the brand recalled first, and "brand recognition" based on asking to identify brand name from 30 given brands. The result of recall brand test indicated that Levi's was dominant brand. People recognized about 70.8% of brands on the average. Brand recognition was influenced by segmented distribution region and demographic variables. 2. There was significantly positive relationship between brand recognition and purchasing behavior. 3. National brands were more recognized than Licensed brands. 4. The result showed that "Nix" was best represented for sophisticated brand image, "Strom" for characteristic, "Jambangee" for resonable price, and "Levi's" for classic '||'&'||' comfortable brand image. 5. As a result of factor analysis on consumer's seeking image, six factors(characteristic, young, intelligent/sexy, comfortable, exotic and popular) were found. Several factors had a relationship with preferred design, demographic variables, fashion interest, and brand recognition. variables, fashion interest, and brand recognition.

임베디드 웹서버를 이용한 빌딩자동화시스템에 관한 연구 (A Study on Building Automation System using Embedded Web Server)

  • 임베디드 웹서버는 여러 가지 형태의 입출력장치와 지능형 정보기기틀을 인터넷에 손쉽게 접속할 수 있게 하는 초소형 웹 서버로서, 임베디드 웹서버의 적용 영역은 가정, 빌딩 및 공장 등의 전 영역에 걸쳐 있다. 지능형 정보기기를 인터넷에 접속하여 원격지에서 기기를 감시 및 제어를 하기 위해서는 웹 컨텐츠의 제공을 주목적으로 하는 일반서버 컴퓨터와는 다른 임베디드 운영체제를 이용한 전용화된 서버가필요하다. 본 논문에서는 순수 소프트웨어 솔루션으로 구현되는 웹서버로서 전체적인 시스템의 데모를 구현하는 것을 목적으로 인터넷을 통해 P2P 로 연결된 임베디드 센서들을 원격으로 데이터를 추출하고, 이를 제어하는 틀을 구성하는데 초점을 두었으며 ARM intel StrongARM SA-1110 프로세서를 기반으로 한 타켓보드에 임베디드 운영체제로서 리녹스를 포팅 하였고, 네트워킹 기능을위하여 이더넷을 기반으로 한 기본적인 네트워크 프로그램을 동작 시켰다.

시선입력 인터페이스 시스템의 효율적 문자입력 방법 (Efficient way to input text through eye gazing method.)

  • 지체가 부자유한 사용자가 컴퓨터를 이용하여 정보를 쉽게 입력하거나, 쉽게 인지할 수 있도록 지원하는 커뮤니케이션 수단으로서 주목받고 있는 것이 EGI(Eye Gaze Interface)시스템이다. 그러나 EGI는 "주시점 탈(脫) 현상(목표 주시점으로부터 실제의 주시점이 벗어나는 현상)" 의 발생으로 인하여 목표정보를 입력하거나 인지하는데 많은 심리적, 생리적 부담을 가중시키는 것이 현실이다. 본 연구는 EGI의 문제점으로서 지적되고 있는 "주시점 탈(脫) 현상" 의 해결방안에 초점을 두고, 누구든지 간단히 조작할 수 있는 인터페이스를 제안, 고찰하였다. "주시점 탈(脫) 현상" 의 원인규명 및 제안하는 인터페이스의 유효성 검증을 위하여, 실험 툴(흡착효과를 부여한 한국어 입력인터페이스)을 제작, 평가하였으며, 심리적 평가(주관평가)와 생리적 평가(뇌파측정)를 실시하여, 흡착효과를 적용했던 경우가 흡착효과를 적용하지 않았던 경우 보다 문자입력이 쉽고 생리적 부담이 적을 수 있다는 가능성을 발견할 수 있었다. 본 연구는 이러한 결과를 통하여, 선천적이든 후천적이든 물리적 핸디캡으로 인하여 커뮤니케이션에 장애를 가지고 있는 사용자들에게도 원활한 커뮤니케이션을 할 수 있는 시스템 개발 지원 가능성에 길을 열었다고 생각하며, 그 효용성에 대해서도 시사하는 바가 있음을 발견할 수 있었다.

이용자 중심의 얼굴 표정을 통한 감정 인식 TV의 상호관계 연구 -인간의 표정을 통한 감정 인식기반의 TV과 인간의 상호 작용 연구 (The interaction between emotion recognition through facial expression based on cognitive user-centered television)

  • In this study we focus on the effect of the interaction between humans and reactive television when emotion recognition through facial expression mechanism is used. Most of today's user interfaces in electronic products are passive and are not properly fitted into users' needs. In terms of the user centered device, we propose that the emotion based reactive television is the most effective in interaction compared to other passive input products. We have developed and researched next generation cognitive TV models in user centered. In this paper we present a result of the experiment that had been taken with Fraunhofer IIS $SHORE^{TM}$ demo software version to measure emotion recognition. This new approach was based on the real time cognitive TV models and through this approach we studied the relationship between humans and cognitive TV. This study follows following steps: 1) Cognitive TV systems can be on automatic ON/OFF mode responding to motions of people 2) Cognitive TV can directly select channels as face changes (ex, Neutral Mode and Happy Mode, Sad Mode, Angry Mode) 3) Cognitive TV can detect emotion recognition from facial expression of people within the fixed time and then if Happy mode is detected the programs of TV would be shifted into funny or interesting shows and if Angry mode is detected it would be changed to moving or touching shows. In addition, we focus on improving the emotion recognition through facial expression. Furthermore, the improvement of cognition TV based on personal characteristics is needed for the different personality of users in human to computer interaction. In this manner, the study on how people feel and how cognitive TV responds accordingly, plus the effects of media as cognitive mechanism will be thoroughly discussed.

한국간호사와 재미한인간호사의 조직몰입, 간호조직문화, 직무만족도 비교 (Comparing Organizational Commitment, Nursing Organization Culture, and Job Satisfaction of Korean Nurses Working in Korea and the U.S.)

  • Purpose: This study was conducted to examine the differences in organizational commitment, nursing organization culture, and job satisfaction of Korean nurses employed in Korea and the United States, and to determine how these variables were associated with selected study characteristics. Methods: An exploratory cross-sectional study was performed with a convenience sample of 357 nurses from Korea and the U.S. Data were collected by using a web site survey and self-reported questionnaire. Descriptive statistics, t-tests, ANOVA, and Pearson's correlation coefficients were used for data analysis. Results: In comparison to Korean American nurses (KAN), Korean nurses (KN) were younger, single, worked more time, took a charge role or higher, and had less turnover experience. After controlling for age and marital status, nursing organization culture and job satisfaction of KN were significantly lower than those of KAN, respectively (F= -26.02, p<.001; F= -4.87, p=.028). Significant relationships among selected socio-demo-health and work-related characteristics and the three variables were higher for KN. Conclusion: Higher organizational commitment and nursing organization culture from all Korean nurses were related their perceived high level of job satisfaction. Recommendations for further study include exploring a larger sample size of a variety of different types of nursing organizations and staff as well.

홍보 효과 증진을 위한 페이스북 팬페이지 분석 시스템 개발 (Development of a Facebook Fan Pages Analysis System to Improve Public Relations Effect)

  • 소셜 네트워크 서비스의 등장과 급속한 성장은 정보의 생산과 소비로 이어지는 유통 프레임의 변화를 가져왔다. 소비자들은 소셜 네트워크를 통하여 다양한 정보를 빠르게 얻을 수 있게 되었고 기업은 소셜 네트워크를 홍보 채널로 활용하고 있다. 소셜 네트워크를 통한 홍보 활동의 효과를 높이기 위해서는 홍보 활동의 결과를 평가하고 분석하여 홍보 전략을 수립하고 적용하는 과정이 요구된다. 본 논문에서는 낮은 비용으로 소셜 네트워크를 통한 홍보 활동의 결과를 평가하고 분석할 수 있는 시스템 개발 방법을 제안한다. 리눅스 기반 서버에 MySQL 데이터베이스와 PHP를 이용하여 소셜 네트워크상의 대표적인 기업 홍보 채널인 페이스북 팬페이지 데이터를 수집하고 분석하는 시스템을 구축하고 운영하여 제안된 방법의 효율성을 검증하였다.

대평판 글라스 이송용 공기 부상 이송장치의 개발 (Development of the Air Floating Conveyor System for the Large Glass Sheet)

  • We have prepared a DEMO conveyor device for conveying a large 8G class glass sheet using ahorizontal air-cushion system. This device consists of the body frame and the driving frame that are combined to realize a frame for conveying glass without any contact.The driving frame comprises an air flotation table (bed), drive roller supported at both ends, and ASU. Part of the ASU serves to control the airflow as the chamber consists of a porous pad and fan. Fiber filters replace the porous pad and axial fans serve as an air compressor. In addition, to determine the appropriate glass levitation from the air table, this study examined the design specifications of the applied filter (discharge speed of HEPA and ULPA filters, and flow rate) as well as the height of the and the proper supporting roller height (14mm). Then, after adjusting the position of the ASU and the number of ASUs required to configure the UNIT air floating C/V, we analyzed the height and flatness of the glass and derived the appropriate layout (1140-mm distance between ASUs).

The Effects of Actual and Perceived Body Weight on Unhealthy Weight Control Behaviors and Depressed Mood among Adult Women in Seoul, Korea

  • Objectives : This study was conducted to examine the mediating function of body weight perception (BWP) on the relationship between body mass index (BMI) and unhealthy weight control behaviors (UWCB: e.g., fasting, or taking diet pills or laxatives) and between BMI and depressed mood, and to explore the effect of distorted BWP on UWCB and depressed mood among adult women. Methods : A regionally representative sample of 8,581 women aged 20-64 years residing in Seoul, the capital of Korea, completed the 2001 Seoul Citizens Health Indicator Survey which provides self-reported information about height, weight, BWP, UWCB, depressed mood, demo graphic/socioeconomic characteristics, and health-related behaviors. Data were analyzed using bivariate and multivariate logistic regression. Results : BMI was significantly associated both with UWCB and depressed mood, even controlling for all covariates. However, the magnitude and significance of each association was considerably attenuated when BWP was taken into account, indicating that BWP functioned, in part, as a mediator between BMI and UWCB and between BMI and depressed mood, respectively. Among the combinations of BMI and BWP, women who perceived themselves to be heavier than their actual BMls appeared more likely to use UWCB, whereas women who had a distorted BWP, either underestimation or overestimation as compared with their BMIs, tended to be at greater risk for depressed mood than those who had an undistorted BWP. Conclusions : These findings suggest that how women perceive their body weight may be an important predictor and/or mediator of UWCB and depressed mood among adult Korean women.
