Cascaded-transformer-based 3$^{n-1}$+2 level PWM Inverter (다단 변압기 기반 3$^{n-1}$+2 레벨 PWM 인버터)

  • This paper presents a useful multilevel PWM inverter scheme based on a (3$^{n-1}$+2) level generation technique. It consists of a PWM inverter, an assembly of LEVEL inverters, and cascaded transformers. To produce high quality output voltage waves, it synthesizes a large number of output voltage levels using cascaded transformers, which have a series-connected secondary. By a suitable selection of secondary turn-ration of the transformer, the amplitude of an output voltage is appeared at the rate of an integer to an input dc source. Operational principles and analysis are illustrated in depth. The validity of the proposed system is verified through computer-aided simulations and experimental results using prototypes generation output voltages of an 11-level and a 29-level, respectively. And their results are compared with conventional counterparts.

  • In this paper, we investigated the effects of gap length and tip radius influenced in breakdown of mineral based insulation oil Electrode system was needle-plane geometry It is to model conductive extrusions in oil filled electrical power apparatus. The tip radius of needle electrode was 5, 10, 20 and 25${\mu}{\textrm}{m}$, respectively. We measured breakdown voltage for each of tip radius with increasing electrode gap, 2mm to 12mm. It was calculated electrical breakdown strength at tip using Mason\`s equation from breakdown voltage As gap lenght increased. breakdown strength increased linearly. But, as tip radius of needle increased, breakdown strength decreased exponentially. It can be explained by tole phenomenon that electron is easily injected, as tip radius increases, and effective work function decreases. When appling DC voltage. breakdown 7tr7ilgtll was higher wheal polarity of needle was negative than positive. It is because of the space charge effect ill accordance with the influence of liquid motion.

  • Etching characteristics of (PB,Sr)$TiO_3$(PST) thin films Were investigated using inductively coupled chlorine based plasma system as functions of gas mixing ratio, RF power and DC bias voltage. It was found that increasing of Ar content in gas mixture' lead to sufficient increasing of etch rate and selectivity of PST to Pt. The maximum etch rate of PST film is 562 ${\AA}$/min and the selectivity of PST film to Pt is 0.8 at $Cl_2/(Cl_2+Ar)$ of 20 %. It was proposed that sputter etching is dominant etching mechanism while the contribution of chemical reaction is relatively low due to low volatility of etching products.

Dry Etching Properties of TiO2 Thin Film Using Inductively Coupled Plasma for Resistive Random Access Memory Application

  • In this work, we investigated to the etching characteristics of $TiO_2$ thin film and the selectivity using the inductively coupled plasma system. The etch rate and the selectivity were obtained with various gas mixing ratios. The maximum etch rate of $TiO_2$ thin film was 61.6 nm/min. The selectivity of $TiO_2$ to TiN, and $TiO_2$ to $SiO_2$ were obtained as 2.13 and 1.39, respectively. The etching process conditions are 400 W for RF power, -150 V for DC-bias voltage, 2 Pa for the process pressure, and $40^{\circ}C$ for substrate temperature. The chemical states of the etched surfaces were investigated with X-ray photoelectron spectroscopy (XPS). Its analysis showed that the etching mechanism was based on the physical and chemical pathways in the ion-assisted physical reaction.

  • Interior permanent magnet synchronous motor(IPMSM) has become a popular choice in electric vehicle applications, due to their excellent power to weight ratio. The paper is posed maximum torque control of IPMSM for high speed drive. The control method is applicable over the entire speed range and considered the limits of the inverter's current and voltage rated value. For each control mode, a condition that determines the optimal d-axis current $i_d$ for maximum torque operation is derived. The proposed control algorithm is applied to IPMSM drive system for high speed drive, the operating characteristics controlled by maximum torque control are examined in detail by experiment.

  • This paper presents the design and analysis of 2.45GHz Low-IF Mixer using CMOS 0.18um. The Mixer is implemented by using the Gilbert-type configuration, current bleeding technique, and the resonating technique for the tail capacitance. And the design of this Double Balance Mixer is based on its lineaity since it is important in the interference cancellation system. The low flicker noise mixer is implemented by incorporating a double balanced Gilber-type configuration, the RF leakage-less current bleeding technique, and Cp resonating technique. The proposed mixer has a simulated conversion gain of 16dB a simulated IIP3 of -3.3dBm and P1dB is -19dBm. A simulated noise figure of 6.9dB at l0MHz and a flicker corner frequency of 510kHz while consuming only 10.65mW od DC power. The layout of Mixer for one-chip design in a 0.18-um TSMC process has 0.474mm$\times$0.39 mm size.

  • In order to increase the cost effectiveness of solar cells, module production should be treated more comprehensively. Back contact cells offer distinct advantage in the interconnection of cells to modules. Thereby Mo thin film were prepared in order to clarify optimum conditions for growth of the thin film depending upon process, and then by changing a number of deposition conditions and substrate temperature conditions variously, structural and electrical characteristics were measured. For the manufacture of the Mo were vapor-deposited in the named order. Among them, Mo were vapor-deposited by using the sputtering method in consideration of their adhesive force to the substrate, and the DC power was controlled so that the composition of Mo, while the surface temperature having an effect on the quality of the thin film was changed from R.T$[^{\circ}C]$ to $200[^{\circ}C]$ at intervals of $50[^{\circ}C]$. Micro-structural studies were carried out by XRD (D/MAX-1200, Rigaku Co.) and SEM (JSM-5400, Jeol Co.). Electrical properties were measured by CMT-SR3000 Measurement System.

  • Voltage sags are considered the dominant disturbances affecting power quality. Dynamic voltage restorers(DVRs) are mainly used to protect sensitive loads from the electrical network voltage disturbances such as sags or swells and could be used to reduce harmonic distortion of ac voltages. The typical DVR topology essentially contains a PWM inverter with LC Filter, an injection transformer connected between the ac voltage line and the sensitive load, and a DC energy storage device. For injecting series voltage, the PWM inverter is used and the passive filter consist of inductor(L) and capacitor(C) for harmonics elimination of the inverter. However there are voltage pulsation responses by the characteristic of the LC passive filter that eliminate the harmonics of the PWM output waveform of the inverter. Therefore, this paper presented design and feedback performance of LC filter used in the DVRs. The voltage control by LC filter should be connected in the line side since this feedback method allows a relatively faster dynamic response, enabling the elimination of voltage notches or spikes in the beginning and in the end of sags and strong load voltage THD reduction. Illustrative examples are also included.

  • 전세계가 고유가 시대로 들어서면서 각국은 에너지 확보에 전력을 기울이고 있다. 이에 대체 에너지 개발이 미래의 중요한 과제로 여겨지고 있다. 본 연구에서는 결정질 실리콘 태양전지의 대안으로 주목받고 있는 염료감응형 태양전지를 다루어 보았다. 유효면적 $8cm^2$의 염료감응형 태양전지의 직병렬 조합을 이용하여 DSSC 모듈을 만들어 얻은 출력을 전력변환 시킴으로써 상용전원을 얻고자 하였다. 염료감응형 태양전지모듈을 만들기 위해 먼저 DSSC의 단위 셀을 최적화 시키고 이를 실제 광원에서 다양한 직병렬 연결 시도 끝에 모듈로부터 약 5.7V, 3A의 출력을 얻을 수 있었다. 이를 Boost converter를 이용하여 전압을 12V까지 승압하고 이 출력을 고속 스위칭 소자인 MOSFET을 이용하여 스위칭한 Push-pull converter에서 DC 310V까지 승압시켰다. 그리고 그 출력을 DSP를 이용한 20[kHz]의 PWM신호를 만들어 제어한 결과, AC 220V의 상용전원을 얻었다. 그리고 이 전원을 부하에 연결하여 그 동작 특성을 연구하였다.

Growth and Photoconductive Characteristics of $ZnGa_2Se_4$ Epilayers by the Hot Wall Epitaxy

  • The stochiometric mix of evaporating materials for the $ZnGa_2Se_4$ single crystal thin films were prepared from horizental furnace. The polycrystal structure obtaind from the power x-ray diffraction was defect chalcopyrite. The lattice costants $a_0\;and\;c_0\;were\;a_0=5.51\;A,\;c_0=10.98\;A$. To obtains the single crystal thin films, $ZnGa_2Se_4$ mixed crystal were deposited on throughly etched Si(100) by the Hot Wall Epitaxy (HWE) system. The temperates of the source and the substrate were $590^{\circ}C\;and\;450^{\circ}C$, respectively. The crystalline structure of single crystal thin films was investigated by the double crystal X-ray diffraction(DCXD). Hall effect on this sample was measured by the method of van der Pauw and studied on carrier density and mobility dependence on temperature. In order to explore the applicability as a photoconductive cell, we measured the sensitivity($\gamma$), the ratio of photocurrent to dark current(pc/dc), maximum allowable rower dissipation(MAPD), spectral response and response time.
