  • This paper presents a design of network and database structure of the integrated system for power system operational planning and analysis that will be more economical and stable of power system operation. An alias of this system is Highly Integrated Total Energy System(HITES). The Client/server model of HITES is designed as a remote data management model. The input/output-type of application programs and Oracle server is standardized. The separated user-databases from main-database strengthen security of HITES. It is plan to do that tables and relationships are defined by database designs. The connection of application program and DBMS of HITES will be tested through database design and data construction.

  • This paper describes the development of a data management system which manages the database on World Wide Web(WWW). It is the pa.0 of WISIF(Web-based geographic Information System for Irrigation Facilities) which is a prototype of an information management system for irrigation facilities. This system includes a web serve. and a RDBMS(Relational DataBase Management System). Netscape Enterprise Server 3.0 is used for a web server and for the latter, Oracle DBMS 7.3 for NT is used for a RDBMS. Users can cornet the database through a web browser, such as Netscape Communicator, to insert, update, delete and search data they want

  • This study aims to develop a hydrological information management system to manage the hydrological data of Han river integratedly. Various data related to hydrology such as water level, dams, the positions of the hydrological structures for Han river were collected and inputed to build the hydrological information management system. The Database Management System(DBMS) of Korea Water Resources Cooperation which is operated in the form of digits and characters was linked to the Geo-Spatial Information System to join positional information and digital information and to analyze the hydrological data using graphical techniques. Through this study, the positional errors which occurred when digital or characteristic informations were only used, were detected. And the hydrological information management system was presented to estimate the reliability of data related to water level among the hydrological information and to show the basis of output used to correct the data.

  • The development of the internet and information management has enabled new applications which include: Electronic medical record (EMR), intelligent transportation, environmental monitoring, etc. In this paper, we design and implement the Continuity Care Record(CCR) Data Stream management server that compiled with DSMS and DBMS in EMR system for processing, monitoring the incoming CCR data stream and storing the processed result with high-efficiency. The proposed system enables users not only to query stored CCR information from DBMS, but also enables to execute continue query for the real-time CCR Data Stream. By using of CCR Viewer Application users can view or update their personal health records even compare self health care records with standard health care records in order to monitor the healthy status, and the on line updating information would be minimized and medical error.

  • Recently, Mobile Computing Devices are used generally. And Information which is processed by Mobile computing devices is increasing. Because information is digitalizing. So Mobile computing Devices demand an Embedded DBMS for efficient management of information. Moreover Mobile computing Devices demand an efficient storage management in NAND-type flash memory because the NAND-type flash memory is using generally in Mobile computing devices and the NAND-type flash memory is more expensive than the magnetic disks. So that in this paper, we present an efficient Compressed Data Management System for the embedded DBMS that is used in flash memory. This proposed system improve the space utilization and extend a lifetime of a flash memory because it decreases the size of data.

  • For the electric power system operation, the information to monitor the operation status of power plants and transmission lines is very important factor in the view point of system security and economic operation. This paper presents the logical and physical structures of database used by KEPCO's EMS. The adopted DataBase Management System (DBMS) of a relational model type offers many advantages such as easy maintenance of database. In addition, this paper briefly introduces the data exchange system between application programs and database.

  • 64bit 범용 서버의 활용 확산, 메모리 가격의 하락 등 하드웨어의 발전과 실시간성을 요구하는 응응 분야의 확대로 인해 인-메모리 컴퓨팅 기술에 대한 관심이 높아지고 있다. 인-메모리 컴퓨팅 기술은 응용 서비스의 클라우드화, 모바일화, 글로벌화로 인해 발생하는 익스트림 트랜잭션의 고성능 처리를 지원하기 위한 기반 기술로 활용이 확대되고 있다. 또한 빅데이터를 효과적으로 활용하기 위해서 빅데이터라는 원석을 보석으로 가공하는 데 있어서 실시간성을 제공하기 위한 기반 플랫폼으로서 활용이 시도되고 있다. 본고에서는 고성능 트랜잭션 처리를 필요로 하는 통신, 금융 등 특정 분야에서 주로 활용되던 인-메모리 DBMS(Datbase Management System) 기술이 익스트림 트랜잭션 서비스 환경, 빅데이터 실시간 분석 환경 등 새로운 서비스 환경을 지원하기 위한 기술 발전 동향에 대해 조사한다.

  • Recently the use of smart phones and mobile devices is increasing rapidly, data search and retrieval in the mobile environments are generalized. There are only few mobile applications available in the area of agriculture while huge amount of new applications are developed and uploaded. The purpose of this study was to develop the android based mobile application for providing agricultural infrastructure and disaster information. The mobile application was designed through the database establishment and management system, server management system, and mobile application development. The database is composed of weather data, agricultural infrastructure data, and agricultural disaster data. By developing the mobile application which provides agricultural infrastructure information, it is expected to improve the accessibility to agricultural information and mitigate the agricultural disaster damages.

  • As the application area of XML extends to the database from simple contents, the technology for the storage and management of XML also grows with the XML. One of the main issues is how to efficiently manage the XML by using the previous DBMS. Many studies have been performed for the efficient management based on the XML application and database interface. However, the XML data is based on the object and has the hierarchical structure. Accorkingly, a modeling plan needs to store the XML data on the variety type of database. In this paper, for easier connection between XML application and database system, we have designed components for the transformation from XML DTD to ORDB schema. The method of the design for the transformation from XML DTD to ORDB schema is chosen the method of CBD.

  • The inhouse database can be used as an effective tool for managing inhouse/corporaterelated informations, which efficiently support business activities as they are shared by all the inhouse members. The inhouse database construction processes can be classified into a concept design, various kinds of DB format designs, abstracting/indexing, and DB operation/maintenance. This article presents a method of systematizing the concept design elements such as information flow support system, usable resources, and so on.
