Diabetes has been one of major health risks in industrialized countries. Allium hookeri is a wild herb distributed in India and Myanmar. The root of the plant has been used as food and medicine in Southeast Asia. We investigated Allium hookeri extract improves type 2 diabetes mellitus in C57BL/KSJ db/db obese mouse. C57BL/KSJ db/db obese mouse arise out of Type 2 diabetes and we treated Allium hookeri methanol extract 400 mg/kg (AH 400), 800 mg/kg (AH 800), positive control group (thiazolidinedine;TZDs) were administered orally for 8weeks. AH treated group normalized lipid enzyme system (triglyceride, total cholesterol, HDL-cholesterol and LDL-cholesterol) and serum glucose, HbA1c and plasma insulin level. AH treated group recovered β-cell damage by hyperglycemia and fatty liver disease. AH treated group significantly up regulated expression of Peroxisome proliferator-activated receptor gamma (PPAR-γ), pyruvate dehydrogenase kinase4 (PDK4), Sterol regulatory element-binding protein 1c (SREBP 1) and fork head box O1 (FOX 01) proteins in C57BL/KSJ db/db obese mouse liver. And we found that AH treated group decreased hepatic malondialdehyde formation in C57BL/KSJ db/db obese mouse liver. These results indicate that Allium hookeri methanol extract might be a potential anti-diabetic agent and could be useful in the treatment of type 2 diabetes mellitus.
A novel Samples Balanced Genetic Algorithm combined with Extreme Learning Machine (SBGA-ELM) for Parkinson's Disease diagnosis and detecting bio-markers is presented in this paper. Proposed approach uses genes' expression data of 22,283 genes from open source ParkDB data base for accurate PD diagnosis and detecting bio-markers. Proposed SBGA-ELM includes two major steps: feature (genes) selection and classification. Feature selection procedure is based on proposed Samples Balanced Genetic Algorithm designed specifically for genes expression data from ParkDB. Proposed SBGA searches a robust subset of genes among 22,283 genes available in ParkDB for further analysis. In the "classification" step chosen set of genes is used to train an Extreme Learning Machine (ELM) classifier for an accurate PD diagnosis. Discovered robust subset of genes creates ELM classifier with stable generalization performance for PD diagnosis. In this research the robust subset of genes is also used to discover 24 bio-markers probably responsible for Parkinson's Disease. Discovered robust subset of genes was verified by using existing PD diagnosis approaches such as SVM and PBL-McRBFN. Both tested methods caused maximum generalization performance.

To understand the characteristics of open access journals in Korea, this research examined the 1,438 KCI journals in the fields of humanities, social sciences, natural sciences, engineering, medicine, agriculture & oceanography, art & sports, and interdisciplinary. 21% of the KCI journals are freely available at the publisher's websites or open access DBs(OA). 34% are available only in the commercial fulltext DBs(TA) and 34% combined TA and OA. 48% of the OA journals can be found on the free fulltext DBs and 52% are accessed on the publisher's websites. OA journals in humanities and social science are available mainly on the publisher's websites. As compare with this, OA journals of STM fields are available via the free fulltext DBs. Medicine(30%) and social sciences(25%) have the highest overall share of OA. There are field differences in the rate of OA journals. In the fields of social sciences and humanities, 15% of the journal are open access. In case of medicine field, 60% are open access journals. OA journals in natural science and engineering are each 33% and 24%.

A disaster is the time-excess case that computerized service can tolerate a failure and financial industry is being set up the disaster recovery system based on the disaster recovery plan and the business continuity plan for preparing these disasters. However, existing system can not guarantee the business continuity when it comes to cyber terror. This paper analyzes the building type and building technology of disaster recovery system for the financial fields. Also this paper explain the type of data backup using online redo log and type of archive log backup using WORM storage. And this paper proposes the model of improved data recovery combining above two types. Lastly this paper confirm the effectiveness and reliability for proposal rocovery model through the implementation of the test environment.
This paper is purposed to develop DAQ H/W, S/W and DB which can be used in developing electrical fire alarm system or in analyzing electrical fire cause, by detecting and monitoring precursor signals which have high possibility leading to electrical fire on electrical distribution wires. In this paper, developed was DAQ H/W adopting the C8051FXXX CPU which can analyze the measurement signals of current and voltage in electrical distribution wires, other CPU was investigated in view of the best digital sampling rate on the basis of previous researches for electrical fire alarm system. Also, the S/W which can interface with DAQ H/W's communication protocol and can be applied for electrical fire causes analysis, are embodied by LabVIEW. The combined DAQ H/W and S/W could analyze efficiently normal as well as abnormal electrical signals such as RMS value, instantaneous value of current and voltage, frequency signals etc, on the electrical wires. Also, DB system was constructed for recording various analysis results for precursor signals including voltage and current signals. The results by simulator and experiment showed that the suggested scheme with DAQ H/W, S/W and DB in this paper has high usability.

This paper proposed the design bending moments of cantilever slabs with KL-510 load according to span length of long span decks. Their span length range is from 6.0 to 12.0 meter, and length of cantilever slabs is from 30 to 50 percent of their span length. The effects of orthotropic concrete decks, stiffness of steel girders and multiple lane loading factors (MLLF) were reflected in the design bending moments. The proposed design bending moments of cantilever slabs were compared to the design bending moments with DB-24 load.
Purpose: Majority of bridges and roads in Gangwon Province have been carrying loads associated with heavy materials such as rocks, mining products, and cement. This location-specific live loads have contributed to the present situation of overloading, compared to other provinces in Korea. However, the bridges in Gangwon province are designed by national bridge design specification, without considering the location-specific live load characteristics. Therefore, this study focuses on the real traffic data accumulated on regional weighing station to verify the live load characteristics, including actual live load gross vehicle weight, axle weight axle spacings, and number of trucks. Methods: In order to take into account the location specific live load, a governmental weigh station (38th national highway Miro) have been selected and the passing truck data are processed. Based on the truck survey, trucks are categorized into 3 different shapes, and each shape has been idealized into normal distribution. Then, the resulting survey data are processed to predict the target maximum live load values, including the axle loads and gross vehicle weights in 75 years service life span. Results: The results are compared to the nationally used DB-24 live loads, and the results show that nationally recognized DB-24 live load does not sufficiently represent real traffic in mountaineous region in Gangwon province. Conclusion: The comparison results in the recommendation of location-specific live load that should be taken into account for bridge design and evaluation.

In this study, to evaluate fatigue characteristics of developed composite bridge deck, compression fatigue test at girder support and flexural fatigue test for the 2.8m-long flexural test model were carried out. For the test specimen, DB 24 truck load was applied up to 2,000,000 cycles. In the compression fatigue test, behavior at deck tube and its bonded connection were evaluated. In the flexural fatigue test, deck behavior at mid-span and girder connection were evaluated.
Improvement of low-light image mainly focuses on the contrast enhancement. Many researches have been carried out for brightness enhancement, contrast improvement and illumination reduction. Recently, the aforementioned approaches have been replaced by artificial neural networks. This paper proposes a methodology that can replace the Retinex-based reflectance image acquisition by deep neural network. Experiments carried out on 102 low-light images validated the feasibility of the replacement by producing PSNR=30.8682(db) and SSIM=0.4345.
