  • The biproduct bialgebra has been generalized to generalized biproduct bialgebra $B{\times}^L_H\;D$ in [5]. Let (D, B) be an admissible pair and let D be a bialgebra. We show that if generalized biproduct bialgebra $B{\times}^L_H\;D$ is a Hopf algebra with antipode s, then D is a Hopf algebra and the identity $id_B$ has an inverse in the convolution algebra $Hom_k$(B, B). We show that if D is a Hopf algebra with antipode $s_D$ and $s_B$ in $Hom_k$(B, B) is an inverse of $id_B$ then $B{\times}^L_H\;D$ is a Hopf algebra with antipode s described by $s(b{\times}^L_H\;d)={\Sigma}(1_B{\times}^L_H\;s_D(b_{-1}{\cdot}d))(s_B(b_0){\times}^L_H\;1_D)$. We show that the mapping system $B{\leftrightarrows}^{{\Pi}_B}_{j_B}\;B{\times}^L_H\;D{\rightleftarrows}^{{\pi}_D}_{i_D}\;D$ (where $j_B$ and $i_D$ are the canonical inclusions, ${\Pi}_B$ and ${\pi}_D$ are the canonical coalgebra projections) characterizes $B{\times}^L_H\;D$. These generalize the corresponding results in [6].

  • To minimize occupational noise induced hearing loss, it is recommended that workers should not be exposed to noise levels exceeding 85 dBA for over 8 h. In the present study, noise exposure levels were measured for seven workers based on their tasks on a training ship. The A-weighted noise exposure level (Lex,24h) was measured by taking into account the A-weighted equivalent continuous sound level (LAeq,i), duration (h) and noise contribution (Lex,24h,i) from the workers' locations. Results are thus obtained for different job categories as follows: officer group Lex,24h=56.1 dB, navigation crew Lex,24h=58.9 dB, navigation cadet Lex,24h=62.0 dB, ship's cook Lex,24h=64.3 dB, engine cadet Lex,24h=91.1 dB, engineer Lex,24h=91.1 dB, and engine crew Lex,24h=95.1 dB. It was determined that the engineers, engine crews, and engine cadets in charge of machinery must wear hearing protection devices. By wearing hearing protection devices when working in highly noisy engine rooms, it is estimated that the noise expose levels could be reduced by the following amounts: engineer Lex,24h=23.1 dB, engine Crew Lex,24h=24.4 dB, and engine cadet Lex,24h=21.5 dB. Moreover, if the no. 2 lecture room and mess room bottom plates in the cadets accommodations were improved to the 64 mm A-60-class floating plates, then further reductions are possible as follows: navigation cadet Lex,24h=4.3 dB and engine cadet Lex,24h=1.8 dB.

  • This study was carried out to develop the regression model for estimating biomass of natural Pinus densiflora forests by stand density in northeast Chinese area of Mt. Paekdu. Four allometric regression models(W=aD$^b$, W=a(D$^2$H)$^b$. logW=a+b$\cdot$ logD+cD and logW=a+b$\cdot$log(D$^2$H)+c(D$^2$H)) were used to estimate biomass for each of the tree components. The suitable regression model for estimating biomass of stem, bark and whole tree above ground was logW=a+b$\cdot$log(D$^2$H)+c(D$^2$H), and that for biomass of branch, needle and needle area, logW=a+b$\cdot$logD+cD for all of the stand density classes.

  • During the term of June, 7 to August 11, the noises in the maine engine room in terms of the r. p. m. of the Pung-Yang Ho (4,500 H. P.), the Chuk-Yang Ho (3,800 H. P.), the Dong-Bang Ho (3,000 H. P.), the Oh-Dae San Ho (2,690 H, P.), the Kwan-Ak-San Ho (1,000 H. P.) and the Back-Kyung Ho (850 H. P.) (Refer to Table 1) were measured with the use of sound level meter, which has measuring range 37-140 dB and the results obtained are as follows : 1. Capacity of the engine room becomes large according to the total H. P. of the main engine, but the vessels are using of a type of engine, i.e., 6 cylinder, and thus the noise, pressure has shown a tendency to become lower except Kwan-Ak-San Ho, Chuk-Yang Ho and Dong Bang Ho where the noise pressure was higher by 3 dB than curve of mean value. 2. The maximum noise pressure appeared even before the main engine reached the maximum r. p. m. and while the percentage of the r. p. m. varied depending on the vessel, the maximum noise appeared at around the $67-75\%$ of the r. p. m. 3. The maximum of noise pressure in the respective engine room ranged between 93.5-105 dB while it was between 72-81 dB at the fish process room in the stern trawl vessel where the oral communications were possible.

  • Currently in the otologic field, there are various methods of special audiometric examinations, such as, tone decay, SISI, and impedance audiometry and only a few studies has been done in these fields sporadically in Korea. The purpose of this paper is to establish norms of various special audiometric tests, so we have performed the special audiometric tests on 100 male medical students in good physical condition and the follow results were obtained. 1. All cases showed over 90% of PB scores. The mean and its 2 S.D. were 98$\pm$4.9% in the right ear and 97$\pm$5.6% in the left ear. 2. The mean and its 2 S.D. of MCL(most comfortable level) were 45$\pm$15.4 dB in the right ear and 46$\pm$17.9 dB in the left ear, and its range was 12$\pm$12.2 dB in the right ear and 13$\pm$12.6 dB in the left ear. 3. The mean and its 2 S.D. of UCL (uncomfortable level) were 102$\pm$7.9 dB in the right ear and 102$\pm$7.9 dB in the left ear and about an half in cases showed over 106 dB of UCL. 4. In 95% of cases, SISIs(short increment sensitivity index) at 1, 000 Hz and 4000 Hz was below 45% in the right ear in both frequencies and below 55% and 75% in the left ear, respectively. 5. In 95% of cases, tone decays at 2, 000 Hz and 4, 000 Hz was below 10 dB in both ears. 6. The difference between SRT and PTA (speech reception threshold minus pure tone average) was 4$\pm$9.2 dB in the right ear and 4$\pm$10.0 dB in the left ear. 7. The dynamic range(uncomfortable level minus speech reception threshold) was 98$\pm$13.5 dB in the right ear and 99$\pm$13.5 dB in the left ear. We had trouble in estimating the dynamic range in about an half in cases, in which we couldn't estimate the UCL with our conventional audiometry. 8. The results of impedance audiometric tests were as follow: A. In the tympanogram, all cases were of A type with one exception of B type in the left ear. The mean and its 2 S.D. of its peak level were 22.8$\pm$32.94mm $H_2O$ in the right ear and 23.9$\pm$29. 81mm $H_2O$ in the left ear. B. The mean and its 2 S.D. of the compliance were 0.6$\pm$0.54cc in the right ear and 0.6$\pm$0.53cc in the left ear. C. The results of stapedial reflex: a. The mean and its 2 S.D. of the controlateral stapedial reflex at 500Hz, 1, 000Hz, 2, 000Hz, 4, 000Hz were 99$\pm$17.7 dB, 87$\pm$14.4 dB, 79$\pm$13.7 dB, 77$\pm$20.0 dB in the right ear and 99$\pm$15.9 dB, 88$\pm$13.9 dB, 79$\pm$13.7 dB, 77$\pm$21.3 dB in the left ear. Depending on the tested frequencies, the stapedial reflex wasn't generated in 6 cases in the right ear and 11 cases in the left ear. b. The mean and its 2 S.D. of the ipsilateral stapedial reflex at 1, 000Hz, and 2, 000Hz were 89$\pm$16.3 dB, 82$\pm$15.9 dB in the right ear and 89$\pm$18.0 dB, 83$\pm$18.9 dB in the left ear. Depending on the tested frequencies, the stapedial reflex wans't generated in 1 case in the right ear and 2 cases in the left ear. 9. Eustachian tube function using with impedance audiometry was malfunctioned in21 cases depending on the tested pressure and the range of peak level of tympanogram was 14$\pm$26.9mm $H_2O$(tested pressure:+250mm $H_2O$), 8$\pm$21.9mm $H_2O$ (tested pressure:-250mm $H_2O$) in the right ear and 11 cases depending on the tested pressure and the range of the peak level of tympanogram was 12$\pm$22.5mm $H_2O$ (tested pressure: +250 mm $H_2O$, 9$\pm$17.3mm $H_2O$(tested pressure: -250mm $H_2O$) in the left ear.

  • The purpose of this research is to find an extension of the renowned Chernoff theorem on standard operator algebra. Infact, we prove the following result: Let H be a real (or complex) Banach space and 𝓛(H) be the algebra of bounded linear operators on H. Let 𝓐(H) ⊂ 𝓛(H) be a standard operator algebra. Suppose that D : 𝓐(H) → 𝓛(H) is a linear mapping satisfying the relation D(AnBn) = D(An)Bn + AnD(Bn) for all A, B ∈ 𝓐(H). Then D is a linear derivation on 𝓐(H). In particular, D is continuous. We also present the limitations on such identity by an example.

  • To evaluate the quality of commercial anchovy sauces, 8 varieties (2 products from the Fishery Cooperation, 2 from small companies, and 4 well-known brands) were chosen and their physicochemical and sensory properties were examined. The salinity of anchovy sauces ranged from 19.8% to 26%, where product E was the saltiest and followed by F> H > B > E > A> C = G > D. Product D with the least salinity was turbid, rancid, and high in ammonia content, suggesting that it is difficult to control the quality of anchovy source with a low salt content. Protein content of anchovy sauces ranged from 2.51% to 2.64%. The unit price of anchovy source A was the highest, whereas B was the lowest. Sensory evaluation scores of anchovy sauces were in the order of B > G > A > F > E > C > H > D for color, B > G = C > H > E = F > G > D for odor, E > C > F > G > H > D > B > A for saltiness, and B > A > C > H > E = F > G > D for overall acceptability. Above results suggest that product B was the best in quality as well as the cheapest among all. Based on the above results, kimchies were prepared with product A, B, C with a high sensory quality and product H with a high market occupancy, and sensory evaluation was performed. The kimchi with product C got the highest sensory score in appearance and the one with product A and H in odor. Although the kimchi with product A generally had high scores throughout the fermentation period, there were no significant differences in texture, salty taste, and overall acceptability among kimchies with different varieties of anchovy sauces.

  • With comparative analysis of running-type brassieres on the market about suitability for middle-aged women, this study is to provide basic data of running-type brassieres' pattern which is highly suitable. In the pursuit of this purpose, this study carried out wearing experiment targeting 3 middle-aged women with normal body shape which is 85B of chest circumference. The result is as follows. The significant difference was recognized in the breast. The products were rated in order of C>A>B>D, E, F, G>H by the observers, and C>B>D>A>F>E=G>H by the subjects. The significant difference was recognized in the armhole area. The products were ranked in the order of C, D>B, G, E>A, F, H by the observes and D, C>B>G>F>A>H by the subjects. The significant difference was also recognized in 6 categories(14~19) for the torso. According to the overall average values, the products were rated in the order of B, C, D>A, D, F, G by the observers and B=D>C>H>F>G>A>E by the subjects. The overall evaluation exhibited the significant difference. The products were ranked in the order of D>C>E>B>H>A>G>F by both observers and subjects. Therefore it was confirmed that the product D was appropriate in general. To conclude of comparative analysis about 8 kinds of running-type brassieres on the market, the average values of the product C and D in all categories had high marks for each category. The product C was comfortable and capable of covering the breast well, however, a gap was formed in outside-up part. The product D, made from lacy fabric, was very comfortable and well-fitted but there was inconsistency between the mold-cup and the breast shape.
