Mobile Camera Processor Design with Multi-lane Serial Interface (멀티레인을 지원하는 모바일 카메라용 직렬 인터페이스 프로세서 설계)

  • In this paper, we design a mobile camera processor to support the MIPI CSI-2 and DPHY specification. The lane management sub-layer of CIS2 handles multi-lane configuration. Thus conceptually, the transmitter and receiver have each independent buffer on multi lanes. In the proposed architecture, the independent buffers are merged into a single common buffer. The single buffer architecture can flexibly manage data on multi lanes though the number of supported lanes are mismatched in a camera processor transmitter and a host processor. For a key issue for the data synchronization problem, the synchronization start codes are added as the starting for image data. We design synchronization logic to synchronize the received clock and to generate the byte clock. We present the verification results under proposed test bench. And we show the waves of simulation and logic synthesis results of the designed processor.

  • IEEE 802.15.3 is wireless Medium Access Control(MAC) and Physical Layer(PHY) specification for high rate WPAN (Wireless Personal Area Network). IEEE 802.15.3 MAC Layer provides Qos with three kinds of acknowledgements; No acknowledgement, Immediate acknowledgement, and Delayed acknowledgement. This paper presents how to improve QoS with new acknowledgement method called Delayed Negative acknowledgement. This paper describes the method of using Delayed Negative acknowledgement and presents the calculation of QoS improvement by using Delayed Negative acknowledgement.

Wireless Channel Management Scheme for ASMD Groups in Wireless N-screen Services

  • In this paper, a Wireless USB (WUSB) protocol is adopted for development of ASMD (Adaptive Source Multi Device) N-screen wireless services. WUSB is the USB technology merged with WiMedia PHY and Distributed-MAC (D-MAC). However, the current WUSB protocol can't provide seamless N-screen streaming services to moving WUSB devices in home network environment. Therefore, to provide the ASMD N-screen services through WUSB based on D-MAC protocol, a channel management scheme is proposed to support seamless mobility between adjacent ASMD groups for wireless IPTV N-screen services. In simulation results, proposed ASMD channel management (ACM) scheme is compared with conventional WUSB channel management scheme in view points of throughput, average path interference and energy consumption according to various numbers of nodes and elapsed simulation times. Through simulation results, it is explained that proposed ASMD channel management (ACM) scheme should be adopted in the WUSB protocol to realize ASMD N-screen wireless services.

  • 2.45 GHz RF Transceiver composed RF module and Digital module for USN(Ubiquitous Sensor Network) has been implemented in this paper. The proposed RF system is designed based on IEEE 802.15.4-2006 PHY standard which has a frequency range from $2.4{\sim}2.4835GHz$. In this transmitter chain, the output power is controlled form 0 to 30 dBm. In this receiver chain, less than 20 dB of NF was obtained.

  • IMT-Advanced 무선전송 시스템 단말모뎀 플랫폼은 다중 반송파 변조 기술, 채널 부호화 기술, 셀 탐색/동기 기술 등 핵심이 되는 요소 기술인 고속 무선 전송 기술을 구현할 수 있는 하드웨어 구조, 기능 및 인터페이스를 설계 제작하였다. 상기 단말모뎀 플랫폼에서는 기저대역 모뎀 물리계층 기능인 변조, 복조, 부호, 복호, 동기를 위한 각각의 FPGA가 실장되는 Daughter Board 형태로 구성되어 L1 기저대역 모뎀 장치에 실장된다. 그리고 PHY 계층(L1)부터 MAE 계층(L2), RRC 계층(L3)까지의 하드웨어 및 소프트웨어 수행을 지원한다. 4G용 단말모뎀을 개발하기 위하여 상용화 이전에 LTE-Advanced 테스트 베드용 단말모뎀 플랫폼을 개발하여 20 MHz 대역폭을 적용 3 km/h의 저속 이동속도에서는 최대 110 Mbps를 수신하고, 최대 55 Mbps를 송신한다. 그리고 120 km/h의 고속 이동속도에서는 최대 55 Mbps를 수신하고, 최대 28 Mbps를 송신한다. 상기 성능을 만족하는 단말모뎀 플랫폼이 개발되면 IMT-Advanced 단말모뎀 플랫폼 기술을 확보하게 된다. 따라서 이동통신 분야에서 기술적인 우위와 시장 선점을 위하여 요소기술 IPR을 확보하고, IMT-Advanced의 표준화 과정에서 이를 국제 표준으로 반영하여 로열티 창출 효과 및 기술 경쟁력을 확보하게 될 것이다. 아울러, LTE 사용자들은 대용량의 고속, 멀티미디어 송 수신을 가능하게 하는 기술로 2010년 이후 가상 현실 서비스, 3D 게임, 센싱 등 사물과 사물이 통신하는 유비쿼터스 서비스로 발전할 것으로 전망한다.

  • 기존 칩들 사이에 사용되는 인터페이스는 많은 선을 사용하여 EMI문제를 발생시키고 PCB에 많은 중간을 차지한다. 이를 해결하기 위하여 개발된 UniPro는 적은 선으로 빠른 통신속도를 지원하며 저전력 통신을 위하여 D-PHY와 함께 사용된다. 본 논문에서는 MIPI 규격의 UniPro를 설계하였다. 설계된 UniPro는 4개의 데이터 레인과 1개의 클럭 레인으로 구성하여 디바이스 사이의 데이터 및 제어신호를 전송 가능하다. 또한 낮은 전력소모를 위하여 전원 관리 장치를 추가하였으며 수신한 데이터의 에러검출이 가능하도록 설계하여 신뢰도를 높였다. 설계된 인터페이스는 5,160 Gate크기이며 속도는 98MHz이다.

  • This paper deals with the analysis of the optimum value of honeycomb core considering variable design parameter. As thickness and height of core rises in design parameter, natural frequency of laminated composite plate increases. The angle-phy has the maximum value when the plate of honeycomb core join to opposite direction. This paper shows that the natural frequency of CFRP was higher than that of GFRP and mode shapes were various at angle-ply.

  • In this work, it is proposed new PD(partial discharge) detection technique using electro-optic effect, for which partial discharges generated from needle-plane electrode in air were detected through optical measuring system by use of $LiNbO3_3$ electro-optic crystal. As a result, it is noticed that PD measurable phase intervals are limited by the asymmetrical D-E hysteresis loop of the crystal with defects and half-wave voltage. However, both number of measured PD pulses and their amplitude were increased with applied voltage, which likely implies that it is possible to detect PD through newly proposed electro-optic method.

Design and Performance Analysis of Visible -Light Wireless Communication System using LED

  • In this study, we analyzed an outdoor visible light communication system and implemented it through a simulation. We designed a Reed-Solomon encoder, a variable interleaver structure, and set it to the Institute of Electrical and Electronics Engineers (IEEE) 802.15.7 PHY I specification mode. We also analyzed the performance of an additive white gaussian noise (AWGN) channel environment using a root-raised-cosine (RRC) filter, implemented a MATLAB simulation and analyzed its performance. The results showed a requirement for an additional signal-to-noise ratio (SNR) of approximately 1.5 dB in a 3-ray multipath visible light channel environment than in an AWGN environment.

  • In this paper, the structure and detailed specifications of the HDR-WPAN physical layer have been analyzed and the block module of transmitter and receiver have been also designed, and analyzed the performance as well. In the process of transmitter design, it concentrated on all possibility of modulation of QPSK, DQPSK and 16/32/64QAM-TCM, which could be available for mode selection due to the transmission rate. In addition to the receiver module, DQPSK and TCM decoding algorithm is mainly concerned. After designing the transceiver MODEM using VHDL, we have programmed on the platform board and verified the functions of the MODEM. Some experimental results showed that it can be considered a possibility of data communication without error over SNR 22dB.
