The development of a learning management system for dental radiology education: A technical report

  • Purpose: This study was conducted to suggest the development of a learning management system for dental radiology education using the Modular Object-Oriented Dynamic Learning Environment(Moodle). Materials and Methods: Moodle is a well-known and verified open-source software-learning management system (OSS-LMS). The Moodle software was installed on a server computer and customized for dental radiology education. The system was implemented for teaching undergraduate students to diagnose dental caries in panoramic images. Questions were chosen that could assess students' diagnosis ability. Students were given several questions corresponding to each of 100 panoramic images. Results: The installation and customization of Moodle was feasible, cost-effective, and time-saving. By having students answer questions repeatedly, it was possible to train them to examine panoramic images sequentially and thoroughly. Conclusion: Based on its educational efficiency and efficacy, the adaptation of an OSS-LMS in dental school may be highly recommended. The system could be extended to continuing education for dentists. Further studies on the objective evaluation of knowledge acquisition and retention are needed.

  • Smart education in the information window, type talent in modern society is changing as talented smart shoes, smart automation creative talent through education, training can be called education revolution. In other words, the advent of smart devices, such as knowledge and information and to actively growing individual customized training paradigm change in the way education and training to reflect this approach. Therefore, in this paper, a smart learning environment based technologies for implementing the system was designed to be the next generation of cloud computing and N screen-based smart education system was studied. From this, educational functions and features in a smart media environment, based on the analysis of the utilization of a smart education system, which maximizes the system design were studied.

  • In these days, the practical training education is getting highlighted in IT curriculum. This study is for the Cloud computing based Virtual Desktop Service Plan of IT education and its efficient operation and management plan. With the implementation of a virtual lab environment system, the training environment which is customized by the curriculum is able to be provided. Also in the case of the limited system, the curriculum is able to be provided for each subject in advance. Therefore if the Cloud Training (or Practicing) Portal system for the multiple cyber universities is implemented according to this study's estimated scale and operation managing policies, the virtual training education service system could be provided in more efficient and more effective ways.

The Study on Creative Tutoring Service Design to Improve Self-presentation and Learning Abilities for Kids Focusing on Visual Association and Storytelling

  • Objective: The goal of this study is to design a creative tutoring service, which helps children gain confidence and creativity through learning activities. Background: Nowadays most kids are growing up in a very competitive environment under their parents' zeal for education. A stressful environment can deter a child from the confident undertaking of challenges, leading to depression, anxiety, and feelings of inadequacy. Art therapy helps children work through these issues, however the process led by instructors or parents, and kids still feel anxious studying adults' face to read their thought. Method: To help children address challenges, a creative tutoring service application can provide images with certain tasks instead of asking them to fill in blank areas. The tasks asked by the service system are 1) to visualize children's own experience utilizing visually associated images from given images and 2) to create an illustrated story modifying and re-composing given images. Another task is to learn basic math and words with numbers and alphabets in customized colors. By completing each task children collect awards, which allow them graduate to higher levels of challenges. The outcomes from the tasks are sent to the main server system and reviewed by analysts. Those results are sent to children's parents as a text message on smart phone. Results: Visual implication using images inspires children to make creative stories based on their own experience. Also, children can find their own patterns of reaching answers by using synaesthetic imagery through repetitive practices of creative thinking tasks. Conclusion: Understanding how they feel about doing tasks in certain environments and assessing them in varied situations should be carefully considered when designers approach service design for kids. By focusing on how to tutor children in creative ways, as opposed to focusing on the expected outcome, creative service applications can be designed to reduce children's stress and encourage self expression. Children are predicted to gain confidence through using the service without the concern of comparison by others. Application: The creative tutoring service needs to be developed and tested by varying types of children.

  • Recently, the number of People who want to study by online has been gradually increased. In addition, people's desire is increasing that represents their special knowledge and personality with new paradigm of UCC(User Created Contents). Most of the educational web-sites offer currently boring and unified educational contents without interesting objects. Therefore I want to solve these problems of existing online educational web-sites and I strongly propose the method of design to make the place educational and useful that everyone can enjoy and manifest the user's dispositions. On this study, it's possible to make pleasant environment and improve educational effects on cyber space by designing it in accordance with the individual tastes which have various design elements, beauties and facilities by the customized design method. As a result, this study proposes the model of online educational web-site having various interfaces and focusing on the customized design.

  • The ability to use and utilize information technology devices in the knowledge-based society shows many differences in terms of quality of life. However, in the case of the elderly, the elderly suffer difficulties in acquiring information technology due to their aging characteristics, so they can not easily adapt to rapidly changing societies. Therefore, it is becoming more and more important to educate the elderly who are trying to adapt to the new environment of knowledge-based society. Therefore, in this study, we analyzed the previous researches of the researchers related to the elderly informatization education and the report of the actual situation of the digital divide of the government, and identified the problems and suggested ways to activate the effective education for the aged. The following suggestions are made to activate information education. First, there is a need for systematic promotion and professional counseling on the need for information education for the elderly learners. Second, the development of various curriculum that can be used in real life. Third, development of customized learning materials. etc. Fourth, Obtain a professional lecturer for the elderly. It is limited to lecturers who have completed teaching and learning methods that reflect the characteristics of the elderly. Fifth, the introduction of qualification certification system that can measure the level of informatization of the elderly learners. Sixth, building e-learning system for elderly people. Seventh, to establish a new organization dedicated solely to information education for the elderly. When these parts are realized, it will help elderly people to improve their quality of life through alleviation of solitude and alienation.

Construction Status and Proposal for Information Communication Facility of Childcare Center -After COVID19, focusing on IT Technology Utilization- (어린이집 정보통신설비 구축현황 및 제안 -COVID19 이후 IT기술활용 중심으로-)

  • The purpose of this study is to examine the case of constructing information and communication facilities in daycare centers and to propose an educational environment that can foster young talents who can lead the era of the fourth industrial revolution. In particular, after COVID19, a method was proposed to create an information and communication environment suitable for children to receive personalized education, and to create an environment for experiential education if possible, and at the same time to enable averaging of customized learning. Since there has been no research on information and communication facilities in daycare centers, we intend to place significance on starting, and in the future, to foster creative and contextual children, we will reduce the movement of teachers through smart speakers and mobile devices, and tailor the educational environment through AI data. I think that the design of the daycare center should be changed in the direction of making the product. To this end, the CM role of information and communication supervision is needed, and it is hoped that it will become a design standard for daycare centers after COVID19 by developing research on daycare centers.

  • The fourth industrial revolution based on information and communication technology has increased the need for an environment where contents in new technologies can be learned for the development of lifelong vocational capabilities. To prepare for this, K University's online lifelong education center has established STEP, a smart learning platform. In this study, we conducted a study and other platform case analysis for STEP learner types, a survey of learners, and a comprehensive analysis based on these results to classify characteristics by learner types. It also intended to establish a plan to provide customized services to meet the needs of STEP learners in the future. The derived results are as follows. It is necessary to constantly manage learning content difficulty and learning motivation survey, and also needs to refine the operation of learning content in terms of learning composition. In addition, it is important to secure specialized content, to manage vulnerable learners, to actively introduce a learner support system and various educational methods.

  • Game agents which are behavioral agent for game playing are a crucial component of game satisfaction. However it takes a lot of time and effort to create game agents for various game levels, environments, and players. In addition, when the game environment changes such as adding contents or updating characters, new game agents need to be developed and the development difficulty gradually increases. And it is important to have a game agent that can be customized for different levels of players. This is because a game agent that can play games of various levels is more useful and can increase the satisfaction of more players than a high-level game agent. In this paper, we propose a method for learning and controlling the level of play of game agents that can be rapidly developed and fine-tuned for various game environments and changes. At this time, reinforcement learning applies a policy-based distributed reinforcement learning method IMPALA for flexible processing and fast learning of various behavioral structures. Once reinforcement learning is complete, we choose actions by sampling based on Softmax-Temperature method. From this result, we show that the game agent's play level decreases as the Temperature value increases. This shows that it is possible to easily control the play level.

  • The purpose of this study is to analyze the current situation of EduTech, which is proposed as a way to build a flexible learning environment regardless of time and place according to the use of digital technology in mathematics subjects. The process of designing classes to use the EduTech platform, which is still in the development introduction stage, in public education is still difficult, and research to observe its effects and characteristics is also in its early stages. However, in the stage of preparing for future education, it is a meaningful process to grasp the current situation and point out the direction in preparation for the future in which EduTech will be actively applied to education. Accordingly, the current situation and utilization trends of EduTech at home and abroad were confirmed, and the functions and roles of EduTech platforms used in mathematics were analyzed. As a result of the analysis, the EduTech platform was pursuing learners' self-directed learning by constructing its functions so that they could be useful for individual learning of learners in hierarchical mathematics education. In addition, we have confirmed that the platform is evolving to be useful for teachers' work reduction, suitable activities, and evaluations learning management. Therefore, it is necessary to implement instructional design and individual customized learning support measures for students that can efficiently utilize these platforms in the future.
