  • Daegu urban railroad line 3 is introduced with straddle-type monorail system within the country at the first time. This system is long line with 24km in total length which has not the results of construction in Korea. The rail beam of monorail bridge to be constructed/ installed in the city is adopted on the basis of the PSC rail beam. It is required to apply the steel rail beam at rapid/ curved line parts or location to be required the long span bridge as passing river and intersection. The composition of span bridge is various and the height of bridge is change with each section and exist the different curve radius due to all section is passes in the city. The rail beam shall be considered the ground conditions and then consider the construction methods. It is analyzed to construction period of PSC rail beam to be linked with period of infrastructure construction and construction of steel rail beam, structure construction of station etc. It is compared to crane construction methods and launching girder as alternative construction methods and propose to upper construction methods which is superior in economic and construction.

  • Permanent magnets of Nd-Fe-B group have kept a key post in the permanent magnet market and used in various parts. Tube Process is a process to produce permanent magnets using a deformable tube for denslfication of powder magnets. Advantage claimed for this process is that it can accomplish both densification and anisotropication in one step forming. In this paper. the simulation has been carried out for a full Tube Process in a closed Qe considering the compressibility of material, arbitrary curved shape and deformable body contact between Nd-Fe-B powder magnet and copper tube. The results show that the analysis of Tube Process is applicable with great help in the stage of preform design.

  • Ralfsia longicellularis is known as an endemic species in Far East Asia. In this study, we report R. longicellularis as a new record from Korea based on morphological and molecular analyses. Molecular analyses based on plastid-encoded rbcL gene sequences and morpho-anatomical studies were undertaken on Ralfsia species, a poorly studied genus from Korea. Ralfsia longicellularis is mainly characterized by a dark brown thallus; 770-1200 ㎛ thick, curved cells in the creeping and ascending parts of the filaments; basal layer and erect filament cells with a width-to-length ratio of 1 : 1.5 to 10; narrowshaped sporangia on-stalk cells at the base of the paraphyses; and mostly uniseriate plurilocular reproductive organs capped with 1-2 sterile cells. The R. longicellularis samples from Korea in this study were similar to ones collected from the type locality (Peter the Great Bay, Russia) in morphology. The rbcL analyses also revealed that our Korean R. longicellularis samples were placed in the same clade with Russian materials, within a Ralfsia clade but distinct from the congeners.

  • Robotized MIG welding of large aluminium components for high speed trains is state-of-the-art. The implementation of online laser cameras enables seam tracking and adoptive modification of welding parameters. A constant fill is achieved regardless of the gap tolerances. Friction Stir Welding has been introduced to the market as a reliable and fast joining technology. The advantages of high welding speeds and the elimination of arc light, fumes and liquefaction in the welding spot lead to economical realisation of heavy-duty gantry systems. FSW robots offer a high flexibility with regard to welding of curved parts, and can be equipped with laser cameras for exact joint tracking.

  • The present paper concerns itself with characteristics of the circulating water tank, designed and constructed at the National Fisheries University of Busan. It is an elliptical ferro-concrete water tank 12 m long, 7 m wide and 1 m deep. The experimented part of water way is 5.67 In long, 1. 76 m wide and 1m deep. For the uniform straight flow are attached stainless plates in the curved parts and stainless pipes just befor the experimental part. The speed of flow can be easily controlled by changing the electric current in armarture of motor from 0 to 30 ampere according to the method of Toulon phase shift. The speed field is uniform and deviation is 0.04 when mean speed is 0.53m/sec at 225 R. P. M. except in the areas within 6cm from the walls.

  • This paper proposes on the algorithm of axis equation & radius function for the G.C representation which describes the curved objects with circular cross section. Object combined with linear and nonlinear parts is detached by clustering from depth data & axis points is extracted by normal vecter of the surface mask patches. In ths case of nonlinear axis point, axis equation is described by Hermite curve & the effectiveness of this paper is demonstrated by serveral experiments.

  • Safety of railroad is result of reliability which is received from test & evaluation of system. Railroad system is consisted of various sub system such as vehicle, supply of electric power, signal, communication, rail track construction, operation. To secure safety of railroad, evaluation about parts, assembly, sub system, whole system etc.. that compose railroad is essential. In this paper, I wish to describe for results that analyze korean tilting vehicle's derailment coefficient developed by national research achievement. Result that evaluation korean tilting vehicle's running safety, verified that secure even if speed-up 30 km/h than operating speed of present in curved line.

  • In this study, a 2-step stamping model with an additional 1st stamping tool is proposed to reduce stamping flaws in the curved parts of a dimple in a nuclear fuel spacer grid. First, the strains of curved part of dimple are characterized via a comparison with strain solutions in pure bending. A reference 2D finite element (FE) model of 1-step stamping is then established, and the corresponding maximum strain is obtained. By varying the values of design variables of the 1st stamping tool in the 2-step stamping model, FE solutions are obtained to express the strain as a function of process variables, which provides the optimum values of process variables. Finally, applying these optimum values to a 3D FE model, we demonstrate the enhanced formability of the proposed 2-step stamping model.

  • Alignment of the main plates during the tack welding is essential to block assembly since most of the curved blocks and outfitting parts are assembled on the jigs and fixtures. Tact welding of main plates is the initial process of the curved hull block assembly. Due to the heavy weight of the main plates it is difficult to locate the plate on the accurate position of the jig and fixtures before welding. The conventional masonry process requires much time and manual work in order to achieve the accurate alignment. This labour-intensive process results in relatively high errors and correction works. Due to their larger dimensions and heavier weights, these hull blocks are not ergonomically desirable and, therefore, various mechanical devices such as hydraulic balancers or hydraulic jigs are used for the plate alignment. In this study, the position-sensing scheme implemented by sensors is presented in order to align the main plates on the accurate position during the hull block assembly. Integrating the Infrared photo sensors and micro processor unit, a small scaled prototype of the position-sensing module is developed to determine the alignment of main plates.

  • Cylindrical shells are often used in ship structures at deck plating with a camber, side shell plating at fore and aft parts, and bilge structure part. It has been believed that such curved shells can be modelled fundamentally by a part of a cylinder under axial compression. From the estimations with the usage of cylinder models, it is known that, in general, curvature increases the buckling strength of a curved shell subjected to axial compression, and that curvature is also expected to increase the ultimate strength. We conduct series of elasto-plastic large deflection analyses in order to clarify the fundamentals in buckling and plastic collapse behaviour of cylindrical shells under axial compression. From the numerical results, we derive design formula for predicting the ultimate strength of cylindrical shell, based on a series of the nonlinear finite element calculations for all edges, simply supporting plating, varying the slenderness ratio, curvature and aspect ratio, as well as the following design formulae for predicting the ultimate strength of cylindrical shell. From a number of analysis results, fitting curve can be developed to use parameter of slenderness ratio with implementation of the method of least squares. The accuracy of design formulae for evaluating ultimate strength has been confirmed by comparing the calculated results with the FE-analysis results and it has a good agreement to predict their ultimate strength.
