HF-CT센서를 이용한 고분자애자의 오손특성 (Contamination Characteristics of Polymer Insulator using High Frequency Current Transformer)

  • Investigations of high frequency current transformer(HF-CT) waveform characteristics of the surface leakage on kaolin polluted EPDM polymer insulators have been performed. This work is part of a program aimed at examining the potential for HF-CT waveform characteristics analysis to provide information about the environment contaminants and environment condition of polymer insulators. The investigation reported examined the HF-CT waveform characteristics at high frequencies. The use of high frequency measurements for on-line applications reduces electrical inference. This work was peformed utilizing HF-CT to monitor of surface polluted discharge. It was found that HF-CT waveform frequency spectrum, magnitude depend on importantly the duration of the surface discharge activity.

  • In this paper, we suggest a new driving waveform for stable address discharge in AC PDP without the reduction of contrast ratio. To analyze the influence of cross-talk between discharge and non-discharge cells and verify that proposed waveform shows a stable address discharge, we measured the address discharge delay time. The proposed waveform shows the reduction of the cross-talk and concurrently the improvement of address voltage margin compared with those of selective reset waveform having one reset period in 1TV-Field..

  • In this paper, a soft-switching discontinuous mode (DCM) power factor corrected (PFC) converter is analyzed by applying the double Fourier series expansion. It is found that the fundamental component and higher-order harmonics included in the input current waveform are obtained by the Fourier series expansion of the mean value of the inductor current. From the theoretical analysis, a new method removing the distortion of the input current waveform is proposed. In spite of an open loop system, the proposed method makes a great improvement of the total harmonic distortion even if the ratio of output voltage to input voltage is very low.

  • The effects of triangular and rectangular discharge current waveforms on anode erosion in wire electric discharge machining is investigated based on heat transfer analysis of half-space subject to time and space-dependent heat flux. The thermal load on the anode is simulated by a hear flux that is calculated from time-dependent discharge channel radius and energy. Evolution of the melting front during discharge, the molten volume at the experimental result for qualitative verification of the analysis. It is demonstrated that the triangular current waveform is more efficient in eroding the anode than the rectangular one.

  • This paper shows the characteristic of wave tail according to inductance values in 10/$350{\mu}s$ impulse circuit with crowbar switch. The PSpice was used to simulate the 10/$350{\mu}s$ current waveform and lightning current impulse generator was used to generate real current waveform. As a capacitor of condenser bank increases, a virtual front time increases and a time to half-value decreases. To get a perfect 10/$350{\mu}s$ current waveform, we should consider the combination of circuit values of the inductance, capacitance, time difference between trigger pulses and charged voltage of capacitor bank.

  • The characteristics of the current waveforms and 3$\Phi$ power waveforms of the variable speed 3$\Phi$ AC motor system driven by the single-pulse PWM investigated in this paper. The system is composed of a digital bridge inverter and low pass LC filter. It is confirmed that current waveforms and 3$\Phi$ power waveforms can be improved by utilizing the high order low pass LC filter than that of lower order through computer simulation. Also, we propose the low pass LC filter revised from the conventional LC filter.

  • In order to drive motor control system precisely, the motor is to be controlled by mmfs and current with sinusoidal waveforms. In this paper the Delta Modulation (DM) Technique is used for generating PWM pulse with sinusoidal waveform. However the motor currents yet contain odd harmonics due to leakage inductances, speed and exitation. To reduce harmonics, the parameter adaptive control method is introduced. That is, Req.C parameter of Delta Modulator is controlled adaptively by parameter adaptor. The adaptive signal is achieved by the difference between motor current and reference waveform, and this signal is converted to the voltage commend signal by adaptive mechanism. The test reslts show that this system is operated smoothly over a wide range of motor speed and motor current is controlled to be sinusoidal waveform adaptively.

  • This paper proposes a new sinusoidal rectifier which improves input factor and input current waveform without complicated switching modulation such as pulse width or a complicated feed back control. The proposed rectifier consists of a pair of capacitors connected in series, a full bridge diode rectifier, a pair of inductors, and a pair of switching devices connected in series. While the configuration of the sinusoidal rectifier is simple in itself, it effectively reduces the reactive power and harmonics involved(IEC555-2 SC77A90 Class C) in input line current. The excellent properties of the new sinusoidal rectifier are verified by theoretical analysis and experimental results.

  • 주파수를 직류 바이어스 전류로 제어할 수 있는 톱니파 발생기를 제안하였다. 제안된 발생기는 연산 트랜스컨덕턴스 증폭기 (OTA)를 스위치 소자로 이용하고 있으며, 회로 구성이 간단하면서도 넓은 주파수 스윙 능력을 갖는 특징을 가지고 있다. 발생기 회로를 상용화된 개별 소자들로 구성하여 실험한 결과, 발생기 회로의 전류-대-주파수 전달 특성의 선형성이 우수하고 비교적 낮은 온도 감도를 보인다는 것을 알았다.

  • Polyethylene is widely used as the insulator for power cable. To investigate the conduction mechanism for power cable insulation under ac high field, it is very important to acquire the dissipation current under actual running field. Recently, we have developed the unique system, which make possible to observe the nonlinear dissipation current waveform. In this system, to observe the nonlinear properties with high accuracy, capacitive current component is canceled by using inverse capacitive current signal instead of using the bridge circuit for canceling it. As the results of these estimations, it was found that the dissipation current will depend on not only the instantaneous value of electric field but also the time differential of applied electric field due to taking a balance between applied field and internal field. Furthermore, two large peaks of dissipation current for each half cycle were observed under certain condition. In this paper, to clarify the reason why it shows two peaks for each half cycle, the film thickness dependences of dissipation current waveforms were observed by using the three different thickness LDPE films.
